  • not bad~

  • Very pretty!

  • The phaaaantom of the opera is there, inside my mind...

  • i c a mannequin and 2 violins in the back. must b talented lol

  • You have played very well! The notes are very sharp and the moving of the bow is perfect, but I had the impression that you played without any emotion... No fermatas, no diminuendos... It felt artificial.

  • Nice!

  • Amazing

  • Asiasn

  • Wow , He Said Voiln . Instead Of Violin .

  • @LeeManee So :O? We all have typos... It happens o-o;;

  • wow !!

  • I absolutely love the movie, mostly for all the music. You did very well. Love it.

  • i just stared to play the violin for almost a year and hope i can play this song on my violin because i love the movie and songs

  • i love how your playing is so smooth and fluid.....amazing job!!

  • no matter how good you are at something....there's always an asian whose better than you.

  • The phantom of the opera is there.. insiide your mind!! i can hear O.O

  • You did an awesome job. I'm not very good myself. I'm just a beginner.

  • @verydarkgothic ... Yes You can teach yourself. Just buy some books explaining all the details and the notes. As well as a fingering chart. Then watch some how to play the violin on youtube. That's what I did for the first time I started playing. There should be lots of violin books if you live in the U.S.A. Just go into a music store and ask for beginner books on violin. And then get the phantom of the opera and try for it.

  • Sweetness! I wanna learn how to play the violin so bad!

  • OMFG!!!! that was the best!!!!

  • awsome i love phantom of th opera

  • I thot this would be Iron Maiden....good playing btw

  • love it! wow :)

  • @verydarkgothic yes you can, but before you do that, find someone to teach you how to hold the violin and the stick. Or watch a bunch of youtube videos and pay attention to how they're playing it how they're holding it, I am sure you'll get it within a week..

  • Beautiful~!!

  • @verydarkgothic but it's possible! :0 try it anyway, make sure to go back and forth through books, videos, forums, anything! and check that u are using the correct techniques, etc. practice infront of a tuner to check ur intonation. And when you got the money, go for a teacher. By that time, you'll most likely have enough experience under ur belt to pick up on things easier.

  • you are an amazing violinist!!! you played really fluidly... I wish I could play as good as you!!!

  • wow!..amazing.. you really play it good!.. you're awesome!...

  • Uouuu!! Very good interpretation!! Congratulatios.

Could you please tell me where did you obtain that MIDI file? Or even better, if you don't mind, could you please send it to me? My address: diego.obregon.k (at) gmail.com

I'm not at you level... but I think that with some practice I can do something.... Thank you very much!!

  • amazing!! GREAT!!^^

  • Awsome job!

  • @verydarkgothic

I wouldn't recommend it. Without a good violin teacher, it can cause more pain than good, and you'll be spending years figuring out why things doesn't work.

  • @tubbie0075 Thanks for the advice too :)

  • @tubbie0075 very true, i have had violin lessons for 10 years and without them i wudnt be as good as i am now,

  • You're just incredible, I see you're not a professional yet, but you do everything I wanted to do with a violin. You was right now a inspiration for me, I will fix my old violin (that I never played before, just bought) and start to pratice. I'm calling to a professor and scheduling some classes.

    Thank you soo much!

And good luck with your talent.

  • muy bien!!!!! me gustó realmente!

  • you are a freaking beast.

  • your a beast.

  • Hi, hope you can lead to a link or can send me the midi file for this song. :-)

God bless you and continue to decant you an awesome talent.

  • OOH! i figured that out by ear, i think it's probably in the same key. Ah! u play it so well!

  • Did you use shifting?

  • omg i F-ing love u tubbie0075 i wanna play like u :)

  • You are amazing!!

    :)

How long should I practice to play well a song?

  • @evpasca

at least a few years. good luck!

  • @tubbie0075

    Thank you!!

I'll star practicing after summer vacations!!

  • What brand of violin do you recommend for beginners?

  • @Kratos0909

There are many brands you can go for, but I don't recommend "shoe-box" violins (really cheap ones). I used Ragetti violin when I was a beginner, and it lasted me many years before I decided to upgrade. Talk to someone from a reputable violin shop and explain your situation/budget. Better yet, ask your violin teacher. Good luck!

  • @tubbie0075 Thanks!!!

  • amazing!

  • the background music is it the phantom of the opera from nightwish?

  • @Zyd0ksMovies

Actually, Nightwish just did a cover of the song.

  • Nicely done.

  • that is one sweet sounding violin...do u mind if i ask what it is?

  • @Ravenlancerx

Ladislav Prokop violin made in 1910.

  • O_O you rule

  • really beautifully played there:) do you have the sheet music for it by any chance?

  • do you have the sheets?

  • I really love this song, you play it so well! Are you a Vietnamese?

  • @barbiegirlvn1

Thanks. Nup, I'm a Malaysian born Chinese.

  • i love the phantomof the opera, im so passionate about it and i limit myself because when i watched my other fave movie 24/7 i didnt like it as much.

  • Awsome vid, really love it.

I played the violin when I was little, though I only came to jinglebells, then i gave up. My family could hardly stand the sound of me plying...

  • 4:07

that seriously sounded like someone was actually singing it.

  • sweet

  • I love it! saw Phantom of the Opera in Chicago for a play. it was Amazing! bought the soundtrack too. this is my favorite song to sing.

  • nice... it would be cool if you played the begining yonw the daaaaaaaaaa da da da da daaaaaaaaaaaaa da da da daaaaaaaaaa

  • sooo pretty...

do you have a mute on it??

  • enjoyed it very much. thanks

  • how come you don't play that part?

  • holly crap u rock how long have u been playing =0

  • I've played for about a decade or so.

  • holy crap this is just BEAUTIFUL EXACTLY LIEK IT!!! well similar by alott

  • awsome. there wer some flat notes but that could have just been from the recording divice. that's what happened to my version.

  • wow that was awesome

  • I love the way that you playing volin , can you tell me how to make a cleary sound ??? XD

  • By not hitting the string next to the one your playing.

  • What kind of violin are you rocking?

I would cut some of the slurs you have.

Sluring makes it much more fluid and all, but some parts arent meant to be slured. Some notes need their own bow so they can be more emphasized, and emotional. Im sure you know that though. It was nicely in tune for most of the piece.

  • almost i fell asleep ^^,

  • perfect! thanks for inspiring my son!!!!

  • wow you did well! i play viola, i have the phantom song too. but im still trying to work on it! good job again! :D

  • In the info you wrote, that you´ve downloaded the MIDI...could you sent it to me??

  • Great *.*

  • I am so in awe of your playing. I play violin too and I wish I could shift as fluidly as you do. That last note you hit was perfectly in tune and just right. Awesome job. You're amazing.

  • @kikolady last note isn't that hard to hit due to the fact its a mere whole step up, and because hes already in that general area its easy to shift up a half or whole step during a rest to snatch the last note

  • i really wanna learn how to play the violin, this has given me such inspiration!

You are very talented, is it hard learning violin? i know how to play the guitar, but the sound from the violin is just so beatifull :)

  • Wow great job :) Have you tried the cello?

  • I'm terrible at the cello!

  • Ugh, me too x( My intonation sucks when I try playing the cello and I suck at reading bass cleft. I'll stick to violin (although I kinda do wanna learn cello)

Anyways, you played really good!(: Applause to that.

  • Gosh, your so amazing. I wouldn't mind having the sheet music (if possible) for this song too. (:

  • Thank you for sharing your gift and talent! Amazing to hear such a beautiful piece!

How many years have you played and at what age did you start? Did you learn the suzuki method?

  • I'm not a suzuki method student, but I did use the suzuki book 1 up to book 4 when I started learning.

  • AHhhhh!

    Pretty amazing!

    =]

    I love it.

  • man ur amazing, really like ur vids!

    Im subscribing! xD

  • at wich age did you start playing violin?

  • early 20s

  • good job

  • Where's the MIDI you used for this?

  • I found it somewhere on the internet. I don't remember where I got it, and dont' even have a copy saved. I no longer have my digital piano :-(

  • I LOVE YOU!!! ^_^

You are now my idol, I don't play violin but my sister does, I wish she was as good as you -.-

  • that was awesome man, no way you learned how to play like that in five years, you must be that good

  • do you know what key you played this in

  • A viewer posted the keys earlier. They are: D, G, E then F minor.

  • your violin is like mine ? your good

  • i am completely speechless..that was amazing you have such talent

  • wow. well done! but where did u get the music? i can't seem to find any... again i must say, well done. =D

  • Sorry, played by ear.

  • really??? holy crap tho. you are good!

  • Great sound of your violin and great playing! I`m gonna try that song too....

  • i played this for orchestra!!!!!! i love the tone ur amazing!!!!!

  • That was very nice dude... i love the song

  • you sound better than me on that song.

  • That's great!!

  • Wow, that was brilliant. I envy those who can play as well as this {I foolishly gave in to someone who said I couldn't play the recorder very all so many years ago}. Keep it up; that was lovely. Take care.

  • Oh! Your violin has a rich, deep sound. Maybe you could accentuate it with a wider vibrato?

Otherwise, I loved your solo. It was great. :]

  • dude your great .when did you start playing the violin

  • more or less started 5 years ago.

  • Amazing! I Think you should try Promentory, from the lsat of the mochicans. if your up for the challenge.

  • I started to play violin a week ago, i hope to play as good as you!

  • Good luck and have fun. Remember to be patient, adhere to your teacher (even if you disagree sometimes), keep doing it no matter what people say!

  • holy shit i tired singing along to this song (im a baritone) lol and dam i crashed during those high ass notes at the end i sounded lik a dying cat.

  • wow this is great i like both the sound of this version along with the electric but i can't choose a fav since both r great. 5 stars from me great job

  • this is really good. i want to learn to play the violin. is it fun?

  • It's a lot of hard work first, then it starts to become fun... that is if you don't quit half way.

  • lol ok i'll keep that in mind

  • yes. I play. but it takes alot of determination. I wanted to quit at one stage

  • PROOOO!!!

  • amazing

  • I would love to learn how to play Phantom Of the opera on the volin.

  • It was cool!!!!!!=)

  • Comment removed

  • oh that is beautiful...makes me wish i hadn't given up playing violin back in elementary school....you hit those last high notes perfectly, btw, it made me wish i knew where my PotO cds were so i could listen to it all over again =)

  • beautiful

  • I rarely see people pick up the bow :D Very nice work, I'm glad I stumbled across your videos...I've got a violin, just need lessons now :D

  • wow that was really awsome ^^ 5/5

  • I really liked it, but I would say watch finger placements and work on sustaining the vibrato a little more evenly

  • Spot on! Exact same comment from my violin examiner in 7th and 8th grade regarding sustaining vibrato!

  • Haha!

    Weird

You did better than I probably could though. I havent touched my violin in probably a year and a half

  • Thanks. My violin is a Bohemian violin made by Ladislav Prokop in 1910.

  • How can I find out how old my violin is? Someone please tell me how!

  • Look inside the left F Hole of your violin. Usually they stick the label inside clearly marking the maker's name (or luthier workshop name) and the year made. Otherwise, bring it to a violin appraiser and they'll usually be able to tell.

Be careful of violins with labels like Stradivarius, Guarneri etc. sold cheaply. They are fakes!

  • Hi

I was wondering about that eh... my violin is a

    Markll

violin is tHAT A GOOD COMPANY?(sorry for caps)

  • I'm no violin expert. I haven't heard that name before. As your local violin shop. They might know.

  • what about one from berkeley instruments? (im just starting in violins from the guitar so im clueless on violin luthiers)

  • Aww, im a beginner and the hardest song I can play is Jingle Bells and Old Mac Donald had a farm....

  • superb:X

  • genius. absolutely genius.

  • i watched the movie and the end sounds like the girl christine

  • ur really good i want to play violin but i play viola

  • Nice playing. I dep for the show in London, and the the violins only play this theme once for 6 bars at the very begining, and in one key only (B minor). You're version looks like a good way to learn all the different keys though!

  • The arrangement I played repeated the melody in several different keys. I forgot what the keys were since I played by ear several times before recording, and then quickly forgotten it after I made the video.
