@altreise942 Divine's version didn't make a big impact in the UK. They sold the rights to Mumba, it was a smart move marketing wise for them to earn money. Sam's version was really big in the UK and made them a decent lump of change. This is done more frequently now a days with songs that aren't successful, but have potential. A lot of times people just don't know about it, 'cause the original version never got big.
