  • Doh, I just tried to stop the playback by clicking on the stop button on the reason transport bar in the vid.

  • one question, how do you make it wobble faster?

  • @halabinono turn up the LFO rate

  • Last video-- 12 dislikes. This video-- 6 dislikes.. Looks like they like the tut. :)

  • @xCxRxUx3xLxtxYx if youre using reason 5 you cant do it while the song is playing

  • Fn sweet tanks bro/ :)

  • Great stuff. Very helpful. Structure is always something I completely over think.

  • @lachefm10 yup me too.

  • Watch close people this is the key fundamental to everything. Thank for the Tutorial!!!

  • Lol a 7/4 dubstep tune would be hilarious I'd love to hear that! :D

  • Mate you are really raping this peace of software. good job!

  • rob rob wobble wobble wobble wobble wobble rob rob rob, wub wub wobble wobble rob rob rob.

  • @jimmytango Your wrong, its Flying Colours...

  • at like 3.40 onwards are u talking in bar on purpose

  • HELP ME...when ever i create a wobble in subtractor editing the lfo rate it sounds perfect on a loop but when i copy and paste it next to it, the lfo rate on the copied pattern seems to drift all over the show and doesnt match the 1st pattern?

    Any Ideas?

  • @AndyWix

are you drawing in an automation lane ? when you get the the wobble at the speed you like take note of the value of the rate knob on the lfo. right click on it and "edit automation" it should create a new note lane. draw in a block in the sequencer and double click it or click the edit button. there is a slider on the side of the screen where you can set the speed or a better option is start drawing with the connect the dots style automation. does this help ?

  • @rkristjanson i create the wobble in in an LFO1 lane in the subtractor using the dots and connecting the lines, it sounds fine but when i exit edit and go in2 song mode i copy the patten loop and paste it next to it then when i play back the 1st is fine but as it hits the second block (loop) it doesnt sound the same as the 1st block (loop) it sounds off and in need of editing ??????

  • @rkristjanson and thanks btw

  • OMG UR VID IS SOSO AMIANZIG I AM PRO I LEIK TO MAKE DUBSTEP NAWO!!! THANKS U MISTER DAVE FRUM boyinaband.

  • where can i find this track?

  • dude, using the modulation whell on a eg. midi kbd to control the depth of the wobble would be awsome if im making me clear.. do you know what i mean? sorry for my sloppy english =P

  • Dave you're an amazing person

  • You should name your song Electric Caterpillars.

  • look @ my kanal i made a crazysound ' Silence be4 the Storm' you tell me what style it is.... ????

  • hey, can someone explain to me how to automate the LFO 1 rate? I'm pretty confused...

  • @Supuhman888 You can click record and move it by hand as the track goes a long if you like, or if you go down to where you put the note in, click on the track with the thor [or whatever synth you're using] and up where the draw tool etc is you'll see a icon that says "show automation" when you hover over it.Click on it and another track will appear beneath your notes. You can select lfo 1 from in there & draw in automation with the draw tool. You can automate everything from here, even quantise!

  • @Supuhman888 yeah same here

  • when you said naming your drums helps them be distinguished, you can also colour code them. just sayin

  • What program is it? :)

  • @TEAMQSNR1 Reason 4

  • @ThaHouseKid thanks..

  • I pretty much like the way you give advise at how "it´s done in the club", but also try to encourage people to do their own stuff and arrangements as well. I feel better after that and full of energy to get into the world of dubstep! :-) Thanks.

  • Sounds good!

  • dude. why are you so neat? Its super odd.

My patches are all over the fucking place after a session.

And my sequencer window looks like its been bombed in '45.

    Sweet video by the way.

  • @EynXaeyn yes. Just automate the panning.

  • @cassthedancer1 thanks, your a huge help

  • im still stuck on the leads and stuff man im completely new to reason 4 and puttin the song into gether and turning it into the song

  • What's the software you use and is it free?

  • this is doing my freakin brain.... everytime i copy the track along it doesnt stay in sequence and theres slight gaps in between the wobble bass... why is this happening to me but not you =(

  • i thought i was getting the hang of this nicely, then i came to this day lol rocket science or wat??

  • i use reason and ableton together

  • mint mate goona have to watch it agen and agen but it's very helpful....sound keep it up

  • okay, reached to "level 5"! ^_^ u are pure genius dude (: love ur tuts :)

  • Nice Tut :) Lol 7/4 HAHA

For my music GCSE i did a peice in 13/8

  • @phatboygeo is that was in Loreto College in Manchester? cuz about 1- 2 weeks ago in school theater was some loud dubstep music;D hehe

  • @Patryk737 Nah, but at my school, i hooked up 2 750watt monitors to the mixing desk and started pumping out downlink and Friday filths :) the whole playground was raving, and the headteacher kicked me out for a day

  • I've watched a ton of reason 4 tutorials on various different things... this is by far the best set ive watched so far...

Im consider myself a newb in the whole music production and am open to anything... this tutorial has helped a ton!!! thanks :D

  • @omghai2u, at the end of the day it's not the DAW you use but the talent of the producer. Put your grand mother in a Ferrari and Michael schumacher in a Ford and see who wins. OK maybe not a Ford but you get my drift.

  • Nice tutorial :) and just my opinion, guys ive got Logic pro, Reason 4, FL studio, and garageband. and out of all of them Reason wins with flying colours :P

  • @TheJungleRabbit I have pro tools, vst's FL Studio 9, Reason and Record. and I think Pro Tools w/ Virtual Instruments RTAS Plugins with FL Studio9 rewired. And this is what works best for me. I never use Reason or Record anymore

  • @disciple21781 I was on this video again, i dont use pro tools anymore, i use Cubase 5, and Vsts. Pro Tools crashes too much on PC's. Ive Recently busted out reason again, but I'm def preferring Cubase 5. Again, its all up to preference though, also a friend up mine is a well know producer who has tracks out on Dieselboys Human Imprint. his name is SPKTRM and he uses Reason exclusively, google him. Also I'm pretty sure SPOR uses FL Studio 9. Google them. great production :)

  • @TheJungleRabbit Try Ableton, then couple it WITH Reason 8)

  • @Hegpetz why?

  • @TheJungleRabbit try Ableton Live, then.

  • @TheJungleRabbit

then you need Ableton my friend

but no i think you may be right reason is v good for dubstep

  • @TheJungleRabbit Snap me too ive got em all as well and REASON rules over all music programs.

And its able to re-wire with logic pro which makes

    arranging tracks much easier :D

  • @TheJungleRabbit out of the 4 listed, reason is by far the best. cubase & ableton are my top choices though.

  • @TheJungleRabbit ... its fly AND color. just sayin

  • @jimmytango ahah good point.

  • @jimmytango no it's not.

  • @jimmytango fail. its flying colors.

  • @krinkpuff That's American. Not everyone is American.

  • @TheJungleRabbit maybe you havent yet revealed yourself to all the goodies logic has to offer. logics my main daw i love it more than anyting

  • @williamc1231 yeah, it's been a while since i wrote that comment and ive learnt alot since then. logics a HELL of alot better for mixing and edititing, but for actually creating sounds i think reasons better. but then again, i cant really afford much plugins for logic, so i've never tried creating sounds in it. logics amazing for recording to.

  • @TheJungleRabbit: i use native instrument komplete 7 and reason 5 as plugins with logic, this dude dave makes wobble bass look so easy to make!! haha

  • @TheJungleRabbit Nice opinion, I'm more of VSTI's and DAW's and a non-looper lover, but reason is a really powerfull machine where you can do a lot of awesome things with an amazing simplicity

  • This songstructure is even more simple as the structures I normally use...hehe! Anyway nice tune!

  • listen to loki drum and bass. reason owns fl studio

  • fuck fruity loops.........they are fruity

  • FL studio is the toy version of reason. Its for kids to play around with and pretend there doing the real thing...

  • @sosavidz That's just not true. It doesn't actually matter what software you use. You can't tell which app was used when you hear the finished song. For some things, FL Studio allows you to get quicker results than any other program, and the latest version has tools and plug-ins that aren't replicated in Reason, Cubase or Logic. Have you seen the Gross Beat plug-in, for example? It makes making glitch or drum n' bass beats a cinch.

  • work flow is nice and smooth. gotta up my reason game. haha

    {Benson and Tonic}

  • sick man!!!! you'll hear my finished product very soon! but fuck you have the greatest tutorials, song is almost done, started yesterday at 10 pm till 4 am :)

    peace man!

  • Sick Dubstep doggy.

  • your tutorials are great, i am having fun with dubstep for quite some time now, but this theoretic approach and not just fiddling arround for days is really nice. just like going back to school, but with a cool topic to learn :D

keep making those nice tutorials, you even encourage me to do some shit like lady gaga, just for the sake of trying it out ;)

  • what program do you use

  • can you please tell me what program you use and where to get it?

  • reason 4.0

  • reason

  • reason you fool

  • dont take this the wrong way, but if you dont know what program this is. you prob dont know alot about music programs and prob shouldnt start with this, try FL studio... its underated

  • Dont take this the wrong way, but that comment really does not make any sense.

Why would he wanna try FL studio and not reason? Why not actually try to contribute if some one wants to start making music.

This program is called Reason. Its different from most other DAW's in the sense it does not support VST. You can get it anywhere, use google.

  • i am trying to contribute, i telling him a good starting point, and the only reason i said to use FL studio is because its easier to use.

  • I think reason is actually pretty got good for teh nublahs

  • Comment removed

  • It's raisin 4, you can buy them at the super-market, or just dry out your own grapes!

  • very funny.....

  • i love you more

  • Wewt, my song is awesome :)

d&b is much harder, so i stay with dubstep =P

  • question: why u copy it to the right to copy it then to the left at :124?? ;D

  • i luv you

  • Comment removed
