  • Love this version, but would love to see the album version posted on here!

  • This track is awesome! Can you send me the song please?

Also the lyrics so I can sing along LOL

  • who said they went soft this is still hard core

  • I think the definitive album version is really good, but this one is much more intense.

  • this is awesome. how come i didnt know this exists back then? hehe! i love the SLANG album.

  • I cant get enough of this track! Amazing! BR87, I sent the email. Thanks!

  • I wish I could find this file so I can burn it on a disc.

  • @pyromaniac502 send me ur email

  • Comment removed

  • Respond to this video... send me a msg with your email and I will send u the song

  • @1976wooddaleway Night Ranger is the beast, love them. Imy opinion X and Slang are their bests albums from adrenilize on...no doubt.

  • I got the Slang album on 1996 and this version is much better!

  • I like this

  • Why did they change this? They should be doin more heavy work like this !!!!!

  • @andysinnott According to Phil Collen, it was one of the first songs written for Slang in 1993/4 and when the album was just about finished and listening to it next to the rest of the material they felt it was a bit too "generic metal" and rearranged/re-recorded the "Industrial" version in the last 3 days of recording. I can understand in that it sounds more along the lines of" Desert Song" and "Fractured Love" from Retro Active than a new song circa '96, but I enjoy both versions very much!

  • i honestly like this version better. the lyrics are better, and its more aggressive

  • Metal ,¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • this song has the best lyrics ever!!! always loved this tune

  • I like this!!! I read the band made a departure from their signature sound....this sounds like they were doing a more alternative style...not much different from what was around at the time of the album's release....sort of puts me to mind of Stone Temple Pilots

  • wish they would have stuck with this version..... damn can you imagine if all of slangs tracks went this direction?? It might have been successful

  • This song is amazing, i like more than the original one and is more raw, it gave me the chills je je, it's really amazing how Def leppard can play diferent styles of music, heavy metal, hard rock, alternative rock, pop metal, grunge, pop, ballads... they are the number one. Definitively Def leppard are the most underrated band of all time being one of the biggest bands in history. Only the biggest bands dare to different musical styles, Beatles, Queen, Led zeppelin and now Def leppard. imo¡

  • I loved 'Slang'! And they criticize bands for not trying something new!

  • I can only get on my knees and pray that Def Leppard 'gives the bird' to the music world and bangs out a full blooded metal album.

  • Where did this version come from? Like, where did you find it?

  • @wiseguy09 I got the single when the album came out. I think it was from a either a Slang single or Breathe a Sigh single, I can't remember.

  • @BludgeonRiffola87 The "Slang" single - I just spend all night ripping my ALL my Def Leppard singles to iTunes & my iPod and finding the correct artwork for the them all. It's nice to have them accessible in that format now, but ugh...

  • @wiseguy09 work it out single thats where this is from

  • @wiseguy09 its also on the EP Ecetra

  • ths song is awsome. def leppard is the greatest band ever!

  • This version is absolutely AMAZING and i personally like it better than the album version, althought both are great. This one is just harder and i LOVE it. Slang was one of their greatest albums and I'm sad that it got so much crap...but actually when you talk to most def leppard fans, they all say they loved slang...sooo I don't know what happened there...lol.

  • Actually really like this song.... DL4L

  • Never heard this version before , but damn it rocksssss !!!

  • For years, I prefered this version over the album version. But I eventually came to appreciate the album version more and now I'd have to give that one a slight edge over the original heard here. They both are incredible and this version is still better than most of what's on Slang. Truth?, Turn To Dust and Pearl of Euphoria are the best.

  • I don't know where else to ask this but does anyone know why every song / video from Slang is blocked "in my country" here on youtube?.............

*This video contains content from UMG. It is not available in your country.

    Sorry about that.*

  • @BaltimoreColt I have NO clue, I just uploaded a video yesterday and it contains Lady Gaga's newest song and it says for copyright reasons it may be blocked in certain countries...then I looked and it says it's blocked in Germany...and I'm from the USA...I think it's retarded. Maybe it is a strange copyright thing with certain songs or record companies.

  • I remember reading that they felt this song needed a little help lyrically, but they really restructured the guitars in the mix. This version rocks harder & is less industrial.

  • i thought the version on the album was pretty awesome... this copy shows they were much more progressive.... the "failure" of slang is from stupid fans and the music industry. Forgive me, but this shows growth from the awesome they had.... and following SLANG... which was still awesome, we got Hysteria part 3,,, part 4,,, part 5,, ,part....

funny, people crap on Queensryche for moving forward, but at least they did.

  • @LuvacZantor Went from a great CD in Slang to a horrible CD in X the fans rips Slang apart because it was different,. In my opinion Slang was the last great CD the boys made their newer stuff sucks for the most part although Sparkle Lounge was decent

  • @LuvacZantor Euphoria might have been Hysteria revisited but I'm not sure which other albums you are putting in that bracket? X was rubbish but certainly wasn't Hysteria part 3, 4 or whatever; Yeah was a load of covers and that only leaves Songs from the Sparkle Lounge.

  • I love the lyrics to this version much better.

  • i liked the other verson

  • i fucking love this version. it's kick ass. wish it would have been the one to go on the album instead of the other version

  • What happened to these guys? They used to be a great band...

  • They became a band that followed a trend instead of setting one. They have become so consumed with making a "Hit" that they lost sight of making good rock music. They are haunted and trapped by the success of Hysteria. But think about it, Zeppelin's last couple of albums were not their best. Everyone only has a small window to make their mark, Unfortunately, they made theirs with Hysteria. I am not saying they have not made good music since then, they have. Just not great. Just my opinion.

  • I agree 100%. A big part of the bands attitude died with Steve Clarke. And the pressure to live up to the success of previous albums I think has caused them to adopt a "We'll try what is working for other bands." approach. I'm not against bands changing. They have to or the music becomes stale. But to write music that isn't really in your soul, it just sounds mechanical.

  • I agree with you. I never say the band has to write Hysteria 2, that would not work. I feel, like you, that they try to be current, but not true to themselves. They are older, but wisdom has not come with age. They try too hard to copy now, but not the way they did in the past. Sugar is basically We Will Rock You and I Love Rock N Roll redone wisely. To come out with a country song because Bon Jovi did it. Not smart. They are an English rock band. Copying for the sake of copying is not wise.

  • True. If this is really the kind of music they want to write, then more power to them. It's just not my thing. I'll just get out my copy of High N' Dry if I want to listen to them.

  • That is the problem though isn't it? We only want the classics, but crave new music from them. They just can't seem to get the mix of their classic sound and updated writing to go hand in hand. I have an open mind when it comes to their music, but I just think some of the newer stuff on Sparkle Lounge is pretty lame. Maybe they will never get it back. Just how much of their success was Mutt anyway?

  • Good point. Mutt Lange is known for getting the most out of an artist and for being a perfectionist in the studio. I honestly would be fine with them playing the kind of music they are playing now, if only it was better. It just sounds forced to me. I guess we should all be thankful for all the great music they put out earlier in their career.

  • You are right. I just watched the Behind The Music remix and they understand their place to some extent. We will always have On Through The Night, High N Dry, Pyromania and Hysteria. I will still buy what they put out and will always support them. They are my favorite band.

  • I really prefer this version, more raw and more heavy than the other... The power i feel in this version is totally absent from the album track that sounds too industrial i think

  • One of their best songs ever...too bad it was never an official release.
