@baileyboy007007 actually, not much to a Strider. It takes 10 or more of those orbs to kill one Strider while it only takes 3-5 rockets or 10 SMG grenades.

I wish they were more accurate with their pulse machine-guns.

They look cool, but honestly the only thing you've got to be afraid of is the warp cannon. I think they've increased their rate of fire and accuracy in Ep.1 though.

@Acid2Rider I dunno, in HL2 (not the episodes) their pulse machine gun really packs a punch, and can take you out relatively quickly, especially if you're pinned down in inadequate cover.

its not a laser its a zero energy tensor torsion manipulator....according to valve...just as your gravity gun allows you to pick up things according to a gravity well, the striders technology allows them to distort space in order to destroy their enemies....it has a significant energy charge, therefore they must wait like a minute to be able to fire it again.

What kind of system would you need to play the original HL2? My system is kinda crap but it can run DOOM3 at a a playable clip (about 30-45 FPS)

If u can run doom 3 you can most likely run HL2 because in my experience, HL2 performs much better. you can also just lower the specs in options.

Striders are one of my favorite vid game enemies ever. I was very impressed how valve designed them to be so smart and mobile, yet so freakin huge. You go in a tunnel and they fucking crouch down and shoot inside it. Awsome

Ep 1 and 2 are the Continuations from Hl2, Like in hl2 you end with the citadel exploding, In ep 1 you end up going back in and destroying it even futher.. ECT.

yeah I did use fraps (full version), but my computer is like (very) high end so basically I'm problem-free when recording games.

Well 1 gb should be good enough. (I don't know since I have 2 gb) But you might want to look into fraps to check if "record sound" and "detect best sound input" is checked. You might want to record at "half-size" as well. One last tip: displaying the fps (the yellow/red numbers) cuts down performance a bit, so you should disable it.
