  • THERE IS A HUGE FLAW WITH PEOPLE WHO SAY THAT ALIENS MIGHT HAVE THEIR OWN GODS AS GOD IS NO ONE TO BE OWNED BY ANYONE! IF GOD IS REAL AND TRUE HE HAS CREATED THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE AND ALL ALIENS ALSO

  • What about VY Canis Majoris?

  • @ScottyBoiy Read the description.

  • @ThisOneObserver Yea I did after I posted that, my bad.

  • very good

  • i feel so small...

  • they found this orange thingy and called it Pistol for fun and now we know that this stupid star is called pistol (pistol is also a gun so the person who named it are small kids) they though it would be fun to call it pistol and end up they had a stupid star with a stupid name

  • @mememe999999

Actually, Pistol illuminates the nebula that it's named after, which resembled a pistol-shape when first observed in low-resolution. It makes sense to label things which occur in great numbers such as galaxies and nebula after what they resemble, don't you think?

  • VJ Canos majoris?

  • I blocked you on YouTube! Haha!

  • This shows me the incredible power of the Creator, and also incredible love that He would lovingly deal with such tiny little critters

  • @1niftyjay

Well that's certainly not what I intended to demonstrate when I made this.

  • @1niftyjay the largest known star is vy canis majoris. 1,000,000,000 suns can fit inside it and also 1,000,000,000,000,000 earths can. it is about 200,000,000 miles bigger than this star though that is a tiny amount compared to the diameter of it. at 1,500,000,000 miles in diameter or 2,800,000,000 kilometers.

  • size after all...does matter!!!

  • nicely done mate, thanks

  • @markps78 I know you're from Australia.

  • lol the more religions we've had on this planet, the more deaths it has occured. peace within religions? you gotta be kidding me.. btw @ xTaint, iv'e always thought like that =) but one thing keeps bugging me..what was there befor anything at all, befor the big bang? lol a single atom? ;/

  • Are we insignificant in physical size compared to the universe? Yes. In other ways...no...

  • the R136a1 radiates as much energy in 10 seconds (twice)as the sun does in a whole year o_o ....canis majoris dont radiate so much, its big but not massive

  • I am on my knees in awe of the creator...

  • @Bruce99100

That's the fucking most stupidest thing a person can say after watching a video like this. Wake the fuck up. We're not the center of the universe. Please refer to the highest rated comment on here for further pwning.

  • @Bruce99100

Get off them and look around.

  • Insignificance?

OUR PLANET CONTAINS LIFE - RATHER THAN ANOTHER THING IN OUR GALAXY THAT WE'VE SEEN!

Don't say we're insignificant just because there are bigger things in the universe than Earth.

  • @ProjectIdiot Yes, we may be small but we are definitely not insignificant, because we are conscious and alive, which is not easily achieved.

  • @ProjectIdiot yes,thank you project :)

  • @ProjectIdiot true true

  • @ProjectIdiot I don't think that was his point really, it's like when you look down at an ant hill, yeah it's alive, but who really gives a shit lol.

  • @ProjectIdiot "OUR PLANET CONTAINS LIFE - RATHER THAN ANOTHER THING IN OUR GALAXY THAT WE'VE SEEN!"

Exactly the point of being insignificant. We haven't seen much at all to even possible figure out if there's other Intelligent life yet. Let alone who's to say what's "intelligent" life to us is considered "intelligent" life to anything else? The universe is so immense that we literally mean nothing to existence. And it doesn't look like humans are even advancing fast enough to save ourselves.

  • @ProjectIdiot I would say rather that life is not as rare as we think it is. We are not as special as we think we are. We orbit an ordinary star in an ordinary galaxy.

  • @ProjectIdiot We don't even know if Mars contains live, we know nothing about live on other planets, not even the moon. We are nothing.

  • it freaks me out a little...ther is other life out there...that many galaxys...a planet in one of those galaxys that can posibly make canis majoris look like a piece of dust compared to the entire galaxy...there is other life out there. Why shouldent there be?It isn't like earth got lucky and had a one in a trillion chance to have life on it.No matter who says what...there out there.

  • Neptune looks like a fun planet...just water...you know what would be epic?New breads of fish there =3

  • @nuttyguy123 No, you mean the water's no good for fish.

  • Maybe those other cosmic objects are normal size, but god shrunk us because adam and eve ate from the forbidden fruit tree.

  • There seems to be a war between which to believe in, God or science. Can I believe in both? Or does that decision makes me fool?

  • @439623

You're a fool because you think science is a matter of belief.

  • @ThisOneObserver I don't look at science as a matter of belief but as way that God make our reality and way to understanding what has been created.

  • @439623

You asked if you can believe in both science and God. So yes, you do look at science as a matter of belief. Belief belongs in the realm of mysticism and superstition, so by all means 'believe' in God. But science is superior to that, because it belongs in the realm of reality. And reality is all we can truly know. Science and God have nothing to do with one another; one is a public truth the other is a private conviction - so stop weighing one against the other.

  • @ThisOneObserver Very well put. To tell the truth I don't know how to respond to that. I guess I can't exppress myself correctly. Oh well is all matter of believe and of living ones life. Peace.

    P.S. I just lost the argument, didn't I?

  • @439623

That depends on if you got anything out of it.

  • @ThisOneObserver Then in a way I win. Thank you.

  • @439623 No arguements, please.

  • @Nugwrangler When do you get the time to write so many comments?

P.S. Some of the comments are wrong, as you see people disagree with you.

  • @439623 Yeah.. but something with the P.S. The other people are wrong.

  • @439623 You can't do both. You got to pick one of them.

  • @Nugwrangler I already discuss this with someone else and he won.

  • what about vy canis majoris...

  • pistol star is 2.3 times smaller than antares!!!

  • who sings this song? please, I need to know!

  • Anyone that still thinks earth is the only planet with life is an idiot!

  • buchananstreet and xTaintedKnightx .... religionists and atheists .... creator-believers and darwinism/evolution absolutists .... YOU'RE BOTH FUCKING RETARDED AND YOU BOTH FAIL ..... Now STFU and get off the Internet, and go to church or plot a physical Crusade, or commit suicide or go have a gay orgy with Ted Turner and Eric Pianka and the other eugenicists ..... OR you could both realize that "god" is YOU and YOU are the Holy Spirit and that Humanity is destined for greatness. Otherwise, die.

  • how foolish can you be ? the question has to be : HOW CAN ANYONE WATCH THIS .....AND ... STILL BELIEVE THAT THERE IS NO GOD!

  • @buchananstreet I thought the exact opposite. I don't see how someone can watch this and believe a God, or at least a personal God. The universe is so huge and the earth is just a speck. Due to the vastness of the universe odds are there are other specks with life on them. And just as people in different parts of the world have their own gods people in other planets will have made up their own as well.

  • dude, this video is wrong

  • and pistol star is a smaller than antares

  • @yorgan007 Actually, Pistol Star is 9.5 times bigger than Antares.

  • @Nugwrangler no it's not. where did you read this bullshit? that's fucking false information!

  • betelgeuse is bigger than antares

  • @yorgan007 Wrong thumbs down.

  • VY canis majoris is the biggest star not VV capei or somethin

  • I need the name of that song, please!!!

  • This video was made in 2006. In that year, VY Canis Majoris was not discovered and VV Chepei was the biggest. Sorry, bad English.

  • @Patatje122 Kind of good, actually.

  • Thnx for this video i like it!

  • and how often it is w Cephei VY Canis Majoris?

  • u didnt include VY Canis Majoris, but it was still an incredible video

  • vy canis majoris = largest star known to man.

  • all of them look the same

  • all are yellow, make some of them blue like rigel. please put sirius, pollux, aldebaran, rigel, deneb, and pistol star smaller than betelgeuse and antares smaller than betelgeuse! also put ky cygni in it too

  • @landonre Except Pistol Star!!! Plese put it 11.1 times bigger than Betelgeuse.

  • @Nugwrangler yea sure, Pistol star is bigger than Betelgeuse! and maybe it's even bigger than VV Cephei, and maybe WOH G64, and even VY Canis Majoris!

    FUCK OFF!!!

  • what amazes me so much about our universe is now matter how much i try and comprehend the scale of it, it only gets bigger and bigger, we cant be the only planet with life.

  • @TobyLee87

That scale also means however that the next planet with life may be such an immense distance away we'll never find another one though. This may well be the only technological civilization in this particular galaxy, with the next one in another galaxy.

I think nowadays that whilst there probably are aliens, we'll never actually find any. Certainly not intelligent civilized ones. I also don't think humans will ever become an interstellar species. (Nor that they should be.)

  • @Shavarnarak Dude, maybe some aliens mastered teleportation and can teleport here, and humans are actually close to teleporting atoms, we are already aable to teleport electrons :D

  • @TobyLee87 Until it comes to the Big Crunch. It's like a reverse of the Big Bang. Are you trying to say that the Big Crunch doesn't exist or what?

  • @TobyLee87 I recommend you read 'The Never Ending Days Of Being Dead' by Marcus Chown. The first couple of chapters are about The Theory Of Inflation. If you want to know how small we are, reading about Inflation will blow your mind. It does for our whole universe what this video did for Earth... only infinitely more so.

  • Would have been better without the terrible song.

  • I like that song...

  • what's the name og the song? please!!!

  • its kryptonite by 3 doors down, n00b

  • Thank you!!!!! @OddRobb

  • Hobble, this is great!

  • @Hobble You're wrong. Thumbs down.

  • we are insignificant,IDC what so called scientists say about earth being rare and blah. The Universe is huge and we have barely touched upon the magnitude of it.

There is bound to be many planets like Earth

  • Also, i hate people saying earth is insignificant, scientists have proven that a planet as perfect as earth is extremely rare. Earth is probably the most significant planet in the whole universe, though the sun, other planets and asteroids are more insignificant.

Also, why do you people argue about intelligence? that has nothing to do with this video, also intelligence has absolutely nothing to do with how smart and capable you are of doing things.

  • You cant say ''Earth is probably the most significant planet in the whole universe''. No one can. We just dont know and everything we discuss about this is hence moot. From the amount of star scientist calculate inhabit our universe, we are not unique nor ''special''.

  • @Textrybal All a lie. Thumbs down.

  • @nicholasb12 Intelligence is how smart you are.

  • i find it sad this is out of proportion video is featured, all the sizes are incorrect, and people,

PISTOL STAR IS THE MOST MASSIVE STAR, NOT THE LARGEST

and also vv chepi is like, 2000 times wider than the sun, Antares is 700. Now, does 700 go into 2000 50 times?

  • @nicholasb12 No, r136a1 is.

  • @udhammachao I hate you and you are so stupid for saying that, stupid troll. You're not getting ANYTHING this Christmas.

  • I loved this, and you have a great point. We ARE too caught up in ourselves and our petty grievances. Constructive criticism: Your grammer is off. You "is" (for singular) when you should "are" (for plural). You've got a good message, so get the grammer right. Be well.

  • You sir failed to. You do have a point, yes, but it is sad for you but true, called GRAMMAR not GRAMMER.

  • what are the odds of us being alone in the universe? o.O

  • woh g64 and vy canis majores are bigger than both the vv cepheys

  • quello che ha fatto questo video è un genio

  • Yes we are arrogant.

Until either we find (and visit) another sentient, friendly race, or they find/visit us, we should just try to keep in mind we *might* not be the only ones out here...

If however this doesn't happen, we should at least take care of ourselves and the place(s) we live...

  • Good point Tovadac.

I don't believe in us being the only one's in the universe. We can't be alone. There has to be others! If we now are alone which is nearly impossible, how come we were the only one's that got created in that case?

  • Now let me elaborate on this you tool.. first off don't ever send me an email, two YOU stated our star was large, slightely over average does not mean large! I never said anything about there not being small stars.. however only detecting red giants and super giants through wavelength is not true (look up at night)... So go back and look through your text book and then search wiki. A science major could mean many things.. I'm majoring in Engineering and Physics so...

  • Are you serious? That guy really said that?

Man, just when I thought the intelligence of some people on the internet could not get any lower.

  • my dick is bigger then VY Canis Majoris

  • VY Canis Magoris is bigger VV Cephi A

  • First off, the biggest star we know of is VY Canis Majoris which radiates more energy in a blink of an eye more than our sun will ever radiate.

Second off, our sun is considered a large star. It is not common for stars to be as big as our sun. They are usually smaller, called Brown Dwarfs. They emite red light instead of yellow/orange because they are much cooler than our sun. All of the stars that are bigger than our sun that we know of today are hard to find.

  • The Sun is considered a slightly below average MEDIUM sized star. Yes, Brown Dwarfs are the most common type of star.

  • UMMMM!!!.... Really??? Ill have to disagree with you partly. The sun is by no means at all or ever will be considered a "large" star. We are a medium or average star at most. If the suns bigger than our star are hard to find then we probably wouldn't know about VY Canis Majoris...

  • That star wasn't even the biggest. There are billions of stars in a galaxy, and billions of galaxies.

  • Lovely, that puts everyone in their place :)

  • The message of this video:

Compared to the rest of the universe, you suck.

  • and there is not allmost trillion stars in the milky way scientist belive there is over 200 billion stars in the milky way and there hundred of billions of other galaxys so we r so small theres so much we dont no and i dont think we will never be able to count all the stars space its jus infity its so intresting

  • Hitchens was asked:

"Did you say that andromeda was 2.4 million years away or billion years away"

    Hitchens: "billion"

Answer: "thank god, I thought you said million"

    YIKES!

Trillion or hundreds of billions, who cares, its alot. Let's get off this rock!

    RAmen

  • there is a star bigger then the last one u showd i think its calld VY canis majoris look it up

  • Now I feel so little.

  • no the biggest number is graham's number :P look it up in wikipedia.

  • biggest number doesn't exist, there's an infinite number of numbers.

  • Comment removed

  • this is a googol ( biggest number)

    10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000

  • If the universe really is ever expanding and infinate, then there is an infanitly big structure out there some where "star or planet" as large as you could ever possibly imagine. Consider a livable planet a million times the size of VV Cephi, its possible that it exists as well as an infinate number of structers that are so large that they make that planet look like a grain of sand.

  • Anyone who can watch this damned video and STILL believe in God and the Devil needs a fucking medal to be honest. A medal of blind stupidity - how the fuck can you sit and watch that and take how fucking small we are compared to everything that's massive in the universe and think that a guy with white hair and a robe to match will come back for us.

Seriously - just get on with your life, be the best person you can be, and then rest in peace. That's all evolution can ask of you.

    We're nothing.

  • agreed

  • @xTaintedKnightx why do you care so much? Who cares what others believe?

  • @atipmore0001 i care / because what they believe is not what is / therefore they{ the they everyone speaks of when they say they } determine actions and dictate "authority" based on beliefs, not actuality, which gives us cca and artificial sweeteners. In class of poisons such as Cyanide and Arsenic we find The True Believers bullying us with The Bible Belt as the True Truth and One Ossirforis Opening when in fact the only opening it is cannot be named on open channel

  • @atipmore0001 I care about water.

  • @atipmore0001 And everything else.

  • @Nugwrangler stop replying to everyone you fucking moron! stop trolling!

why in the world are you arguing with everyone? u don't know better than us, so keep your mouth shut, eh? do us all a favor.

  • @xTaintedKnightx by the other side, if you see this video you ask yourself what is the possibility of you and me been on the earth, insignificant thing in the universe and about all the coincidences of we been here and sun and water and all the stars and galaxies of the universe and try to explain with physics but physics in wrong my friend....YOU HAVE TO BELIVE IN GOD, AND DEVIL BECOUSE SOMEONE MUST HAVE CREATED ALL THIS SHIT. (sorry for bad english, im brazilian)

  • @Darkjohn1234 Evil water you mean, by the way.

  • @xTaintedKnightx Why should i listen to someone who acts like a child who can't control their temper? Also you're the one saying all that and itself times 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 used to be squished into a point that was made of nothing, and nothing exploded and organized something into what we see today.

  • @xTaintedKnightx Ya we are nothing, But This little nothing rock called earth, has the hottest babes in the universe.... till we run into some Twi Leks (The things from star wars with the things coming off there heads, and always have big tits)

  • @xTaintedKnightx So your evidence that a Creator doesn't exist, is that 1.3mil Earths can fit inside the Sun? Are you serious? Infact, the bigger this Universe is, the more reason there IS a creator. The laws of this Universe tell us that energy is NEVER created, but only converts into other forms of energy. Everything is just energy, but how did all this matter get here in the 1st place? The Universe didn't create itself. BTW Our creator won't return to us, we will return to 'him'.

  • @FireSign27 Who created God? Of course the universe can create itself. Religion teaches god created earth as the only planet with life. So why the hell would he make the universe so large to accommodate us? There is no need for such an immense universe if god created it for us.

  • @ojideagu What religion are you talking about? Islam doesn't say that the only life in the Universe is on Earth. And why wouldn't God create such a huge Universe? It's a show of his power over all things. We don't have the power to make a single hair grow, yet the Creator of the Universe can bring unimagineable amounts of matter into existence. Also, energy/matter is NEVER created by itself, the Universe could NOT have created itself.

  • @FireSign27 It couldn'tve, because it's impossible to grow or come to life itself! The Universe was created the Big Bang. You must be thinking of the universe coming to life without the Big Bang. You must be thinking of something else, like the God creating the Big Bang, because maybe God was gravity before the universe was born. There's a multiverse so don't get confused if you think nothing was there before the Big Bang and that means there was 8 or 9 universes back then and then decreased to

  • @Nugwrangler shut the fuck up

  • @FireSign27 the size of 6 or 7 universes. (this is continued because the characters ran out.)

  • @FireSign27 Do you know why Islam doesn't say there's only life on Earth in the universe? Because there's so much space that it's impossible to be no life somewhere else. 93 million light-years... oh, there better be life somewhere else.

  • @FireSign27 There is most likely life else where in the universe and they made up their own gods just as we did on earth.

  • @ojideagu It can't be created without the Big Bang.So of course the universe got to be created with something.

  • @Nugwrangler It was actually the big slam. Shaq is God and long ago he slam dunked a ball so hard it spawned the universe. If you don't accept Shaq into your heart and ask him to forgive you of your fouls you will be punished by Kobe for all of eternity.

  • @FireSign27 yeah guys,someone created us with his magic powers,its a fact

  • @razielz4 No need to mock my beliefs... If you tihnk theres no Creator, thats fine - i don't make fun of you, and i respect that everyone has their own opinions and beliefs. I choose to follow Islam, and i'm not going to stop because a YouTuber made fun of me xD. As a Muslim, i'd make sure that everyone has the freedom of opinions and beliefs - since forcing beliefs onto others is forbidden in Islam. If you disagree with my beliefs, talk to me about them, mocking won't acheieve anything...

  • @FireSign27 sorry,i was a little drunk,o_o i respect ur beliefs :) ...srry again

  • @razielz4 Haha no prob.

  • @FireSign27 Are you sure you can survive through making fun of you?

  • @FireSign27 They should know this: moon has creators. They're stupid.

  • @Nugwrangler Sorry, i dont understand what you were trying to tell me.. Are you saying that im stupid for beliving that this Universe has a creator, or were you trying to tell me that you share the belief? I don't see why the belief is such an irrational one.. Afterall, matter/energy is never created in this Universe, only transformed/converted. I believe it's very logical to think that all energy in existence today, is a result of an amount of energy being created previously - by a Creator..

  • @FireSign27 Conserved, you mean. I don't know what we were talking about last because I was sick.

  • @Nugwrangler Ah, i see. Well, hope you're all better now ;).

  • @xTaintedKnightx Be more of a pessimist. Believing in God or the Devil has nothing to do with believing how small the Earth is. Gotta love arrogant Athiests.

  • @xTaintedKnightx your stupid :P

  • Comment removed

  • @xTaintedKnightx Hi, I know your comment was a year ago on this video but I don't agree with what you said. I know plenty of people who don't believe god is some guy sitting on a cloud on Earth. I personally believe god is in the universe somewhere and heaven is another planet that will never be discovered because it's not supposed to be, call me a freak or whatever, but that seems more logical than some guy with a beard sitting on a cloud.

  • "our sun is among smallest starswe know" , is simply a mistake. Our sun is a mainstream star..means very average/medium in every aspect, size, brilliance, temp...etc.

Still these videos are moving..when iamgine those starts would cover half of the system if they were set instead of our sun!!

  • actually the sun is far above average. 70% of all stars are red dwarfs and another 20% are somewhat bigger and brigther but still smaller and dimmer than our sun.

  • imo theres sth else than known to us universe... its got to be... however we r not able to understand the real power of it and im pretty sure it is no god, he does not even exist id rather call like that the thing wich rules the universe - not an itelligent creature like most of ppl try to belive - sth like its own ''heart'' and we can only try to imagine what it is...

  • your mom would only fit twice into VV Cephi

  • wonder why people are arrogant!!!!!

  • completely innaccurate size for antares and betelgeuse

  • rofl.. and scientists think that an excited atom created all of this!

    haha god did!

  • rofl and religious people think a man created all of this!

    haha nothing did!

    it wasn't created!

  • if it wasnt created, why is it there?

  • because it just wasnt created and thats that- how can something like this be CREATED?

  • Wtf..

So your'e saying that for something like this to have been created, It wasn't created?

  • IT WASNT CREATED!!!!!! aaaaargh!

    conversation ended

  • but how could something exist if it wasnt created?

    was it just there?

  • because it went through a series of things- take a tree for example

that tree originated from a seed- thid god your talking about couldnt make a tree like that- thats non-scientifical- take thearth, the earth was formed by trillions upon trillions of tons of rock which lumped together- over the billions of years that followed the earth cooled and began to support life. On the end line- it doesnt have to be created to exist

  • so its unscientifical to beleive an inteligent being cretes complexity.

but its ok to beleive a spinning atom made us?

  • oh come on! you cant say a man created all this- its like saying you can make an apple appear out of nowhere!!!!

and by the way it wasnt an atom that made the universe into being- atoms arrived 300,000 years after the big bang which was the origin of the known universe

  • First of all, Have a ever said a MAN created our universe? NO.

An INTELLIGENT BEING did, not a dumb vague...

    thing.

Have we ever seen nothing create nothing?

    no.

How do u explain such complexity, and moral values in our world then?

  • well many religions say God resembles a man- so I just went along with that- also no BEING could exist in the conditions at the start of the universe- also re-read my previous comment- nothing can pop out of nowhere- so this god or intelligent being your talking about cant have made the earth let alone the universe just with the click of a finger or voice, finally yes i have seen nothing create nothing- gravity didnt CREATE- gravity pulled the trillions of rocks to form the earth not create it.

  • Energy can be changed from one form to another, but it cannot be created or destroyed. The total amount of energy and matter in the Universe remains constant, merely changing from one form to another. The First Law of Thermodynamics (Conservation) states that energy is always conserved, it cannot be created or destroyed. In essence, energy can be converted from one form into another.

an intelligent source of energy converting itself into trillions of galaxies. GOD

  • woops please dont read that comment.

it was just a theory i found on youtube...

i dont know wether that is possible or not.

all replies to that comment will most likely be ignored.

    sorry for the confusion..

  • ok... fine I'll just let you keep your opinion and I'll keep mine o#about the origin of the universe :)

  • Lol, ok.

Ps. God will still forgive you.

  • *sigh*

  • ugh

    *facepalm*
