@Someoneyoudontknow13 They're not as easy to flip as you would think. I took a corner to quickly in my 98 Mercury Mountaineer (Explorer twin) and put the car in a fishtail. It fishtailed 6 times violently but it never even came close to flipping before I got her back under control.
@ShadowSongx697 i'm sorry to hear that but don't blame the explorer, if the seat belt cut him in two, the crash was unsurvivable no matter what car. he must have been going really really fast.
At 0:02 he tries to correct but instead forces the SUV to drift, or slide sideways. And since it has a high friction force from the tires and a high center of gravity he flips. However dangerous it was, I would have slammed the brake and parking brake and tried to keep going straight on the grass. Rollovers are really dangerous, and I'd rather hit a few signs and such than risk tipping it over.
If you turn while engaging the parking brake, it can cause you to spin and roll. But I said keep going straight and apply both the brake and parking brake to try and slow down and stop as quickly as possible. Most rollovers in SUVs and trucks are caused when the driver tries to correct and then gets the vehicle sideways. Such as the Explorer/Firestone thing. The tires would blow and the driver would panic and over correct and roll they ve3hicle over.
He turned right after the car swerved to the left to try and get back on the road. Then he probably feels the car going over or something and so he tries to turn left then but at that point it's too late. I think he's best chances would have been to try and slow (and eventually stop on the median) ride it out while holding the brakes.
you say we? is that you're family or we as americans? because they sell 500'000 in the US alone, and shed loads here in the UK, never heard of one going over here, the jap's do, i nearly flipped my shogun, and as for the vauxhal dont even mention them. you here about them more in america because they sell so many. i for one am proud i bought american. and i dont even live there.
saw 1 get hit ,pushed into a curb, and do a bouncy flip on its roof right in front of us! WEIRD.

but wouldn't hitting the handbrake cause you spin, and end up rolling anyways??

if you hit the locked the brakes at that angle and speed you would probably crash into the bulding or an oncoming car
