2 weeks before VPT's transition to digital, the FCC passed a law called the "DTV Delay Act", which gave stations to decide to switch to digital on the following:
- June 12.
- A day after June 12.
- A day before June 12.
VPT chose to do the original February 17 date, signing off at 12 midnight.
