THANKS to all of you who left a message about those 2 videos ! I received a lot of kind messages and I can't reply to each one, but rest assured that I read them and they mean a lot to me. I am happy that those videos are touching so many people who, like me, would have loved to visit the TV Walnut Grove while it was still standing !
The music becomes very irritating. You should have picked up the voice of, say, "Nellie Oleson" as she described things...instead, where you have no music all you can hear is wind and birds. The video is great but the audio is very poor and disappointing.
Great Videos! I love how you inserted the buildings into your video.
I would love to visit the location someday; to stand where it all happened. But how do you do that? And how do you get Nellie Oleson to show you around? :)
They should rebuild the town as an exact replica. It wouldn't be the same, but it would be really wonderful to visit and feel like you were actually in WG. I love LHOTP and grew up watching it, watching it right now actually on the INSP channel. So sad that it's all gone.
You are very fortunate to have had a chance to visit this location, and to also to meet up Allison Argrim and for her to take your friends and you around. This is truly amazing. Thank you for showing other LHOP fans like myself the area the show was filmed at.
In a group of American Facebook have a page called "LA pequeña CASA en LA pradera....." in which we have all the beauty that this series represented in our teens and even today we can see in the TV channel TCM ... really on behalf of that group in Facebook I want to thank Alison Arngrim and documentation that the visit was the film set ..... Greetings from Maracaibo, Venezuela.
From what I had heard (don't know how accurate it is), they deliberately burned the town down on the last episode. I guess they figured the series was over and they wouldn't need them anymore. It is too bad though, it would have been a great tourist attraction. Great video production.
@bobjlv I think the town was blown up in the last episode. I read that Michael Landon didn't want it used for anything unwholesome after Little House ended.
I almost cried watching this video... all the memories in that small space. I kinda wish they hadn't torn everything down even though they had their reasons. It would have been fun to look around with the buildings still intact. Anyways, great video and sooo heartwarming!
ooo it makes me sad when i´m watching it :(, but the video is sooo cool! I watched little house with my grandma ,and now in my country it comes every day 3 episodes:-D! And the series never get boring. Little House on the Prairie shows me still today how people should be :) love it!
I am literally crying right now. It's precious for me to see this place as it looks today, knowing everything that happened here and the memories shared. It's not just the memories of the cast and crew, but also of the fans. I would get up earlier than normal in the summertime to watch LHOP as a child. It didn't matter how sleepy I was. These are my memories, too. I hope I'll get to meet the cast members one day (any of them would be so awesome). I don't know if I would even be able to talk. :)
No se cómo esplicar esta sensación-sentimiento que ocupa el video, sus imágenes, la música en estos momentos, la verdad es que me siento de 17, de 20, de 25 años....:'(
pull that beauty was a great pleasure to watch this video, you missed this time, and today 10/22/2011 I watch the replay of this wonderful series on the TCM channel here in Brazil, and it's unfortunate to have come this series so good was forced Michael Londom by directly providing us this pleasure ... the song is great, get emotional every time I hear

Super vidéo!. Très bien conçue. On y s'y croit. Encore bravo...
Thanks soooo much for taking the time to put this together...I used to get so excited when I was a little girl waiting for this show to come on....brought back memories :) hope to get to visit someday...wished the buildings were still up, I would pay to go see it!
Little House will always have its appeal -- even a hundred years from now. It pulls at the heart strings and makes us yearn for a time when things were simpler in many ways. Michael Landon didn't live to see the impact of this show through the advent of the internet and those of us that have crafted dedications to the show, the cast, and him over the years. It would have been nice to have the buildings but the love of LHOP remains and will always be there, from us to our children's children.
I agree that they should have left the buildings up. Can you imagine the economic impact that would have had on California (!) and how many people who have visited there?? Is it privately owned now? Great job on the video(s)!
Cordially.
@Erikebec It still makes ABSOLUTELY no sense why they didn't leave the buildings, it would of been so cool to visit the town and see the actual buildings. If there is a good reason, I sure would like to know it!
I just bought Little House season 1 @ Sam's yesterday. I have been on a kick ever since. Nellie was my favorite! "country girls" lol. What an awesome video you made! Alison (Nelly) looks like she would be a hoot to hang out with or go to a club with. My partner and I were sitting here watching this...hankies were waving and tears were flowing. bahahaha!
That was a great video. Also, it seems that Alison would be a blast to hang out with. I grew up watching this show, and had it not been for the superimposed pics of the buildings..I would have had a lot of trouble making out where the different buildings once stood.
It is kind of sad to see it so overgrown with trees and brush. It reminds me of the episode when they all came back to Walnut Grove from Winoka, and discovered a neglected town.
ERIC! YOU ARE THE BEST! Again - great job! Coming from another video geek - these are so well done! Thanks for taking all of the time to put these together for others to enjoy! xo Gary
Eric, AWESOME video!! I love and watch this show almost everyday, and to see it where it was filmed touches me very deeply. It's always been a dream of mine to visit Big Sky Ranch and walk the steps where the series took place. Thank you so much for posting this, and thanks Alison!!
Eric -- fabulous job on the overlays!!! I'm ashamed to say that even the lifelong LHOTP fan I've always been, I really think I'd have driven myself nuts trying to be "sure" of which bldgs were where if you hadn't done the wonderful overlays!! Thank you Alison for making the trip, videotaping it, & sharing it w/ your fans!!! These videos put the biggest smile on my face!!! You made my month!!!
Eric, wonderful! It was easy to recognize many of the LH sites, despite the demolition and wild fire. My family and I have been amazed at how an airplane is never seen in the sky during any of the shows. It is sad to see so many chemtrails (most would call them contrails) in the skies of Simi Valley today. Thank you for taking the time to compile this for all us die-hard fans of LH!
VERY COOL! I too am a Minnesotan and have been to several of the real locals of LIW. I have to tell you that the only hill in the real Walnut Grove is next to Plum Creek. The rest of the town is absolutely flat as a pancake. LOL! Anyway, I really enjoyed your video, it was amazing how much of it I could recognize (especially the Ingalls' farm) even without the buildings. Thanks for posting this and thanks to Alison too!
What a great idea. I thoroughly enjoyed watching these. The overlay was fantastic. It's so difficult to imagine right where the buildings stood without that aspect. It seems a shame that they were all torn down. It would have been wonderful to see them still standing. Maybe an attraction of sorts. Thanks so much for this.
thanks for posting I loved this show it still is I watch it all the time I wsh I could meet Alison and Melissa Gilbert brings back memories.. I watch it everyday. I wish I can see the pleace where it was filmed.
As a native Minnesotan, LHOTP was near and dear to my heart, as it was to millions of others who enjoyed the show and the legacy both actual and fictional have left behind. Seeing this video made my day, and I loved that you superimposed the Walnut Grove set on top of actual footage. Although I have not yet had the opportunity, my sister makes the annual visit to the Walnut Grove festival, where she has met Alison, and the Greenbush twins. They're so congenial; what true stars indeed.
@jrlomy2k Thanks a lot ! I am really happy that you enjoyed watching my videos... The Californian hills certainly don't look like Minnesota, but they were a very nice setting for "Little House"... I wish you have the chance to meet Alison one day, she is wonderful ! And so are her fellow cast members from Little House.
Boring that not houses left but i have heard they have move to kansas

Even tho the grass is higher the trees are taller and the sky is still blue you can picture the town folk with your memories as the video goes along,
Even tho it is kind of haunting to see the places where LHOTP was filmed it is a memory to be cherished and to be never forgotten
I am so glad i found this video and so pleased you shared with us all because it is and always will be Simply Wonderful x
