There's an early '40s movie by the name of "Yankee Doodle Dandy," directed by the same man (Michael Curtiz) who directed "Casablanca." In "Yankee Doodle Dandy," James Cagney portrays the aforementioned Mr. Cohan.
Very nicely done! This is one of my favorite Pogues tunes. It does indeed tell the story of emmigration from Ireland to America very well. Kudos to Philip Chevron on the writing of this excellent song. Kudos to Shane for singing it with such raw emotion.
Love the image at 02.48! "Tipped our hats to Mr Conan" Ha!

Nice work -- tho' I believe that the lines
"... we said goodnight to Broadway
Giving it our best regards,
Tipped our hats to Mr. Cohan,
Dear old Times Square's favorite bard"
refer not to Conan O'Brien, but to George M. Cohan, the Irish-American actor/singer/composer/playwright whose statue is near Times Square.

Nah, it's distinctly "CohAn," not "CohEn."

I really wanted to slip some clips in for those parts, but it's near impossible to find any that are actually downloadable. x_x

I scoured www.google.com and www.photobucket.com, typing whatever I thought might catch some results. =]

Where did you find some of the dancing pictures in this? I know some are from the Trinity School of Irish Dance. What about others? Great video.
