  • doctor should not allowed to remove small amount of tissue from the patient unless approved/consent by patient in written with signature. I strongly believe in many cases this kind of remove of tissue significantly worsen the condition or causing the problem of the patients, only benefit the doctor for his/her study of the problems.

  • glad to hear that!

  • was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2005....have had 8 cystoscopies under general anesthesia and you don't feel a thing...some urgency to urinate after procedure with slight burning...otherwise, if it's suggested by your urologist, man-up and get 'er done; it can save your life.

  • does it stretch your pee hole?

  • wow that must hurt

  • More than you can imagine.

  • lol I had a cystoscopy today. I went straight to youtube and searched for it and found thgis vid. I hate to bite down on a towel when I pee because it hurts so bad.

  • Waw I had this done. If you are going to have this procedure, be warned. The anaesthetic gel they use to numb your UT stings like hell, imagine a wasp in your boxer shorts ! I found the flexible cystoscope very painful on entry anaesthetic or no anaesthetic. I have to go back for a general anaesthetic full procedure. If you can get a pre-med before hand from your GP I'd advise it, ask for alternative anaesthetic rather than the Gel, trust me ! If anyone says its painless ignore them.

  • its like gay sex gone wrong

  • lol

  • woah does that probe thinggo in ya pea hole

  • Yes and the pain from that You will remember, for the rest of your life! It makes wisdom teeth extractions seem like a tickle!

  • Can someone tell me if an orchidopexy operation should result to small testicles that are also sensitive????? If not, does that mean the doctor was careless? It is said 1 out of 100 boys have this done, so I don't see why some careless doctor should lead the problem to the guy's esteem and actual sexual life gone out of the window due to this. My testicles are small, senstive, really sensitive. Does it effect orgasm volume? Does it also effect your Testosterone development and your penis growth?

  • lmao i remember watching this video at 4th grade and laughed my ass off :D

    good ol memories :]

  • Yeah, I'm looking forward to it becoming just a memory. Unfortunately, the reality of it must come first. Eh.

  • A nurse applies a local directly to the end of the penis. The doctor then tells you it will sting a little ( it does) but within about 5 seconds , he is all of the way in. After looking around with the camera and taking a small scraping of tissue, they do a " powerwashing". Your bladder rapidly fills and you will suddenly HAVE to take a leak. When you do go, it does burn/sting for the first 24 hrs and than it was fine. No other effects.

  • Can you compare the sting to anything else commonly experienced? I'm having the procedure done in less than a week. And, once in, was there continued pain or discomfort? How long did it last?

  • Well , with the tiny scope going the " wrong way" , there was bound to be some irritation. It burned a little including the first few times I had to urinate but after about 24 hrs, it was gone.

  • Sounds like I'll be experiencing, then, irritation rather than pain. I'll be awake for the procedure, of course. I could take a Valium, but I'd rather not be out of it and still feel pain. Irritation I can handle, however. And the anesthetic should manage the first run though the penis... I'm guessing it's when the doc hits the prostate and spincter that things get a bit dicey and irritable (or painful).

  • Just had the procedure done today. Wasn't as bad as I had expected. Quick and efficient, the doc was in and out in no time. Filled me up with a saline solution for probing that made me want to urinate, but the pain wasn't excrutiating by any means. However, the quite beautiful nurse injected lydocaine inside my penis and kept it there for fifteen minutes, that helped a lot. The worse part, having to urinate hours later when the numbing wore off. Painful. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be fine again.

  • It's my turn in a few weeks. :( For a few days I've had blood in my urine. I've had that problem 4 times in the last two years. Each time, I have diarrhea.

  • AM getting this tomorrow via a local , not a general. I cna hardly wait.

  • How was it? How painful was it?

  • Gents:

I had this procedure completed yesterday and was very apprehensive. Long story short; I was knocked out and the procedure was a breeze. I had very little post-op discomfort other than a slight amount of burning when I urinated the next day. If you need to have this proceure completed, do no hesitate. I would however request general anesthesia.

  • General anesthesia, unfortunately, can be quite expensive (and not covered by insurance sometimes). However, the procedure is quick enough that a local anesthesia gel was all I needed. Now, if some surgery is required, I imagine, then, general anesthesia would be in order. But for your basic cystoscopy, the thoughts leading up to it were worse than the uncomfortable moments that occurred. Not a joy ride either, but definitely manageable.

  • Oooooh ListTube I beg to differ, remember all of us are different, I found personally found it unbareable, even the consultant had tears in his eyes after the procedure. He offered me a full general anaesthetic procedure. Lets agree to say that the procedure affects people difference ways, it took me 10 hours to pass urine after an aborted attempt at the flexible procedure.

  • Agreed. Everyone is different. Fortunately for me, the procedure wasn't as terrible as I made it out to be. Not to say that it was a walk in the park or something I ever want to do again. The procedure did work out for me.

Though I did not make a timely follow-up, I will say the week after the procedure was worse than the procedure itself. What I mean is the urination. Painful!!! Took days for all to go back to normal. Clenching teeth, I had dread urination. The worst part till it wore off.
