  • who gives a shit if you're a dyke.

  • This is my favorite video on YouTube. It struck so many chords for me. Thanks Lauren!

  • I never knew about this video! Thanks for being so honest with us, mainly about the depression and sexual orientation. I'm slowely coming out of the closet at well, mainly about the fact how big of a Harry Potter fan I am. My exboyfriends didn't even knew I've been on a Harry Potter forum since I was 15 and met half of my friends there. I'm 21 now and I think it's time to be honest to other people. Nerdfighteria and fiveawesomegirls inspired me to do it. (: Thank you, Lauren.

  • You summed it up for me EXACTLY.

Now if I can only find MY Matt...

  • and congrats on finding the courage to come out! =)

  • i dont want to make it seem like i wasnt paying attention to what this vid was all about and what it means, but i would like to say that hearing you talk about depression, even briefly, is what hit home for me in this vid. ive struggled with emotional problems for awhile now, and sometimes i feel really unsure about how messed up they may or may not be, but knowing that youve experienced depression helps me. i cant say exactly why or how, but it does. so thanks for that

  • WOOO! GO LAUREN!

  • You are amazing Lauren. This gave me so much courage to speak up about myself. I've always been slightly nervous to let my true self out, becaues I'm so different then everyone else I know. This made me realize that I don't need to hide that true side of me. Thank you Lauren. <3

  • This video is so...amazing. I'm impressed that you could say all of this stuff online. I wouldn't be able to. Sorry this comment is coming so late. :)

  • Aww lauren! :D This was so sweet. I know I am quite behind, seeing this video is almost two years old. However, you inspire me! There needs to be more equality in this world.

  • Wow, Lauren. It took forever for me to see this. Hahaha. BUT. I feel the same way as you do when it comes to this. (: It does take a lot of guts to tell everyone. Especially the people you love and don't want to lose. You just have to hope they love you enough to accept it. All of the people I have told so far are cool with it. So, that's nice. Lol. Have a nice one!

  • total BUG.

  • This is an amazing video, Lauren! This must have took a lot of courage to tell people, let alone post on YouTube, and 'm really proud of you!

  • University was my chance to come out at bisexual, and since I have, I've found that the amazing reactions of all my friends here have given me the confidence to come out to all my other friends and family, which I'm just starting to do.

I also share your views on orientation. Like you, I fall for the person, not the gender! :]

So yeah, Happy Coming Out week to you too! <3

  • I loooooove your attitude towards "sexual orientation" :) I totally share it!!!

  • Thank you for this beautiful video Lauren. It always lifts me up to see your confidence here. I particularly love the moment at 2:48 where you have this amazing smile; it's so much different from the famous Lauren-smile, but it's perfect.

Thanks for doing this! And congratulations, you make it easier for a lot of people :-)

  • This is a beautiful video =D

  • You can't go wrong following a heart like yours.

  • You, my friend, are awesome. I fall hard for personalities too!

  • thanks so much lauren!

  • Nice Lauren.

    BTW, wicked t-shirt :)

  • Yay! Im bisexual too:]

    i love it!!!!

  • yayyy Lauren ^.^

sometimes now im known as Luci the Lessie..

    such fun!

  • Good for you! Be proud honey :)

  • I had no idea you were bisexual! Oh my goodness, thats AWESOME!!!! There are so many reasons you're the most awesome person in wrock and this is just one more reason!!!!

To think Alex has all those fan girls who think they have a chance! Thanks to this video, you may have even more delirious girls on your case!!! :D

  • thats the same for me.

    personalitys

    not gender

  • Oh Lauren...we love you.

  • Good for you! I started coming out as bisexual when I was your age as well. It's a very difficult, but extremely liberating time. Your courage has touched me!

  • You're awesome, Lauren.

  • epic lauren i'm bi my self (i'm 15) i have told some of my friends some were like omg but after a week or two they were fine with it but i have not told my parents but i think i will wait till i move out then tell them and way epic video

  • You're amazing.

I totally know how you feel.

I want to give you a hug.

  • YOU ARE FREAKIN' AWESOME!

  • Lauren, you are amazing.

I didn't know you were bisexual, but it doesn't change my opinion of you.

    You're still awesome. :)

  • I don't know you personally, but you really are all kinds of awesome. This is an amazing video, and I am sure that it will inspire others to feel more comfortable with who they are, and to find the courage to share it with others.

Also, I'm a bit jealous. I really wish I could feel attracted to girls as well. There would be so many more awesome people to make out with. ;)

  • 2 quick questions:

1-where did you get your shirt? I'm been searching for one for a while

2-What is the song in the background?

    Thanks!

  • I FREAKING LOVE YOU.

  • I am fangirling so much right now, Lauren. I love you! Haha, you're birthday's June 2nd, right? I'm the 3rd, so that makes us Gemini, and even though you might not believe in astrology, one big Gemini trait we're known for is our "curiosity", and supposedly a hell of a lot of us are bisexual.

Fun fact, yeah? I've also considered myself bisexual since I was 11. Wow, right? lawlz.

  • This is the most inspired and beautiful coming out videos I've seen in a long time. I'm sort of stuggling in this area and you've given me the courage to reexaime how I really feel about the opposite sex. Thanks Lauren!

  • I've been following you on your personal channel and on 5AG, and you're a beautiful, inspiring person. I love your spirit, Lauren. It definitely takes courage to put yourself out there. Even if it dosen't really make a difference since you don't know me, I'm proud of you and what you are.

    ((((((((Huggies))))))))

  • That's amazing, Lauren. I'm so glad you found the courage and strength to come out and say this. You are an amazing, amazing woman.

  • Lauren you are an amazing and strong person. I hope you find your love one day, regardless of gender! :)

  • woahhhhhh. this was completely unexpected...

  • Lauren, this gave me chills. You're a remarkable person.

  • lauren, your my hero :) i'm so happy that you feel comfertable enough with yourself to open up to the world.

  • Lauren I wub wub wub you and I'm really proud of you for having the courage to make this video. You are the best best best best best bestest. Hopefully this comment made your smile real lol.

  • Famous for a fake smile? Maybe.

Admired for being a genuine soul? Yep, definitely. THAT is why I support you Lauren.

Anyway, being famous for a fake smile worked out OK for the Mona Lisa. Or maybe the painting's fame had something to do with the talent of the painter ...

  • This made me cry. I think you are an exception women, Lauren.

  • Lauren, you are amazing!

  • I love that you had the courage to be this honest and I really love that there are a hundred and twenty three great, supportive comments. The both make smile. :)

  • I'm proud of you<3

  • Lauren words cannot describe how brave you were. i have almost your exact same problems. im 13 and i agree with you about love. i have considered myself bi 4 years and have not told anyone but my gay brother who understands me most. i also believe i am going through depression but nobody not even mom believes me on that. i asked for a therepist but my mom said it was bc i wanted attention and that made it even worse i think it will still be a few years before i completely come out to the world.

  • I've always found you remarkably eloquent, and this only further confirms it.

I identify as gay - I kind of spent most of puberty just sort of thinking I was asexual, since girls did nothing for me. It was actually the Harry Potter fandom, through slash fanfiction, that made me recognise why that had been.

But your sentiment, about not turning away love in whatever form it presents itself, resonates deeply. I firmly believe, preference aside, that I could fall in love with a woman.

    Thank you.

  • You are such an inspiration to me. Although I am straight, I have gay/bi friends and I am always there for them so they know they are loved and accepted. Before I watched this video, you already had a place in my heart, but this has taken my admiration of you to a whole new level. You give me the confidence to be myself and be proud, so thank you Lauren. <3 xx

  • you're made of awesome! and extremely brave, you're an inspiration.

i love what you said about the personalities thing. that's kind of how i feel too.

  • Your great :)

    Seriously!

  • I think its amazing your able to tell us this. Wrock on, and dont let any one give you any crap about who you are or who you love. Happy coming out week!

  • this is an amazing video! Sad it's not on your main channel. I really think more people need to see this! ack... too many !!!!!!!!!

  • You're totally awesome Lauren. It's amazing how many ways there are at this point that you can inspire people. -huggles- Is it weird that I'd already guessed the bi bit? Guess my fellow bi-dar is working over time, considering I've never had the chance to go to a since one of your shows...

  • Hahaha, same! I just thought she was gay though, so maybe my radar isn't as good as yours... But still!

  • Lauren, I'm one of those people who you've never met. And probably never will, so I should just say this:

You are incredibly brave to post this for basically the entire world to see. It's really sad that some people can't accept others for who they are. The world needs more people like you.

And you're probably one of my biggest heroes now.

    So thank you.

    ~Julie

  • Thank you so much for posting this, Lauren. <3

  • OMG HECK YES.

    Heck fricken yes.

    You are awesome.

  • You rock. Undeniably.

  • You're so amazing

    and inspirational. wow.

    thank you!

  • Lauren - you are one of the most amazing young women in our generation. I hope this video inspired others. I hope that one day we can be in a society where coming out isn't a big deal and people just accept each other for who they are!

    <3

  • Ise got no problems, ur still amazing, nothing has changed.

  • Lauren, you're amazing.

I hope you've encouraged so many people by making this video, and I'm glad you're so happy with who you are.

    Yay Lauren!

  • Lauren, that was awesome :)

Hope your video, and the encouragement of soooo many people will help make others feel like they can be themselves without worrying so much!

  • Lauren, this video is amazing, and I'm so happy for you that you're comfortable with yourself and who you are. You're an inspiration for everyone. :)

  • You're amazing.

It's horrible that we live in a world where people can't always be who they really are.

I'm really afraid that I won't even live to see the day that they can.

  • Lauren, you are so amazing.

You're seriously one of my heroes

  • Good for you Lauren! You have the courage that some people merely dream about. I remember coming out when I was 16 and can relate to some of the issues you talk about in your post. P.S. I'm going to come out now and say I haven't actually listened to much of your music, but loved the song 'Wrocking Around the Bathroom Stall' on the Jingle Spells album :P

  • love you lauren! always and forver!! lol ok

heres a secret for all the ones you shared to us: i subscribed to the fiveawesomegirls on the first week because i though you were really cool... :"D

    love all the girls!

    bye-bee

    luci

  • Way to go Lauren! We love you! <3

  • Lauren, you are absolutely amazing.

  • asdfghjkl;'

    i love you so much.

but i kinda figured it out after the whole "best shower of my life" thing.

    LOL

  • Thanks so much for the video! You're awesome! One thing though - is it wrong that I keep thinking "What about the Laurex Shippers?"

  • Lauren, I'm so happy that you're comfortable enough now to talk about this. You're a beautiful person, inside and out. And hey I have more posters than you, and I just keep getting more. Affordable art ftw.

  • this is a really inspiring video. even though i don't have a sexuality-related secret, the way that you revealed yourself truly and talked about your depression-related issues was so inspiring. even homosexual or people who are out have things to "come out" about.

    thanks for being an inspiration.

  • Look, you've been posting on pretty much every coming out video and it is pathetic. You are obviously just not comfortable enough with yourself and need to take it out on other people. If you really didn't care, you wouldn't have bothered watching this.

And posters rock. You should see my room.

So please just go away and stop wasting your time. People like you make me loose faith in humanity.

  • Because white cinder block dorm walls are depressing and the more I cover them with things I like, the less I feel like I'm trapped in a mental hospital.

  • Luaren, I couldn't agree more :p

  • I fall for personalities as well, i just never knew how to describe it.. gender doesn't matter. it has no factor.

  • You're my hero.

  • You're the best Lauren.

  • I am so proud and happy for you. As a gay guy, I know it's not easy to be honest and brave enough to accept it yourself, and then tell people and try to be accepted by everyone you love. I am just so happy you made this video, I really hope it does help people to love who they are and come out if they feel they need to. :) And guess what? I didn't even know it was Coming Out week!! Thanks for the information. ;) Oh, and oddly enough, I'm not even that surprised. :)

    You are amazing.

    <3

    -Germain

  • Lauren, you don't know me, but I love you.

Most of the time I think about this in the same way, but I almost think it's a mental thing; I can't stand to see people, or creatures not being treated equal, and who's to say that relationships shouldn't be too.

  • Your one of my Heroes. Thats right I am amazed by you. Awesome.

  • We <3 and miss you Lauren!! You are awesome!!

  • you are so honest, there is no way to express in words how proud I am of you. You made my day.

  • thank you for being yourself, lauren

you're a fabulous person, and i think you've done a great thing today

    :)

  • LAUREN! I love the fact you've always been more than a one dimmentional youtube celeb. There is so much too you, and the fact that your bi is just one of the many.

  • If I could hug you I would.

  • Way to be awesome! Thanks for being brave as well. I can't imagine actually having this huge fanbase to consider when you do something like this, but I actually did a similar thing Saturday. I made my Facebook status 'Caitlin likes girls, too. Happy National Coming Out Day' and got surprisingly positive responses. Anyway, thanks for being brave and awesome and...wrockin'!

  • wow, i would have never known half of that stuff about you, but you're so brave, so thanks!

  • Aww, yay for Lauren!

I know I'm going to be like the 50th person to say this, but it never gets old, right? I'm so proud of you!

And I can commiserate on the depression aspect of the video. I have teenage depression and I desperately need therapy. Or at least...I don't know, something.

But anyway, just know that no matter what you had to tell us, we'd be right there with you, because we all love you ^_^

  • I don't know how to say this cleverly since everyone has said it already, but; YOU'RE MY HERO! You really are an inspiration to people. I'm really happy you made this video. :)

  • Lauren, I'm gonna cry I'm so proud.

    <3333333333333333333333333

  • Thank you.

  • I love you, and I'm so proud of you.

  • The best thing about this video is how you presented it cheerfully. It makes my heart flutter.

  • Good for you, Lauren! It takes a lot of courage to come out online. And, I agree. Personality and respect are the most important qualities in any relationship.

    I'm proud of you!

P.S. Audio preview definitely said "real estate" instead of "relationship." Interpret that however you like....

  • Good Girl Lauren! I'm proud of you.

Damn right--it's the personality you fall in love with. Love is love. It's hard enough to find a decent person that will treat you with respect these days. Why limit yourself?

  • Lauren, can i say I love you?

like, idk. I'm one of those who is more accepting of someone being gay/bi, because to me, it doesn't change who the person is, it's just one thing about them.

    Props.

  • i wanna be you when i grow up!

  • Well done Lauren, that took a lot of courage. I had no idea you sucked at mailing out CDs.

  • OMG Lauren! I love you so much more now!!!

  • I freaking love you, Lauren. :D

Thank you for making this video.

  • Yay, you're awesome! :'D <33

  • Watching this video has reminded me why you are my hero. you are such an amazing person and I, me in my entirety, would love(understatement) to get to know you. All that you have shown us on youtube has made me love you. for you. And I pray that one day, I will be graced with your presence.

  • Lauren, you're amazing! This video seemed full of happiness and light to me.

I am so happy for you, that you are comfortable enough to share all of these things with the world. I know you've been saying you wanted to for a long time!

You are an inspiration to me ... I am another person who is known for their smile, even though it's not always real ... and I applaud your ability to share yourself. I hope that your smile in the next little while is because you are happy. :)

  • I'm really proud of you, Lauren. *hugssss*

  • Have I mentioned yet that I love this video?

I tried to make a video response to it, but it didn't really work.

    *sadness*

  • Aww, looks like we have more in common than I thought before! I have to agree that coming out was a very hard thing to do. I hate that in this world there is so much drama regarding the whole thing. Love is love right?

  • Lauren, you're amazing!! I know that that probably took a lot of courage, and I just wanted to say that I think you're amazing and an inspiration. And not just to bisexual or homosexual individuals, but also to people who try to hide any aspect of their lives from those around them. Like depression, or eating disorders, but also small things like insecurities or fears. So, yay! And thank you!

  • I thought it was ally week...

    Anyway Awesome video.

  • I love you.

    You are a true inspiration.

    <3

  • I'm so proud of you.

  • God, I love you so much.

  • you are kind of amazing.i would just like to say that i understand why people dont like or understand others being homo or bi but dont understand why people cant love people regardless of if they like guys or girls! i am strait and am comfortabul with that but i think that people need to be less discriminet because of sexuality. I am very proud that lauren has comeout with something as personal as this! another reason to lover her! please even those of you who think this is wrong love the people

  • I'm straight with occasional girl-liking tendencies. I don't care who knows it. As long as they aren't in my family. There's only been the one girl and that never went anywhere and I've lately been a bit disillusioned where she's concerned, so I'm thinking that one doesn't count. I'm straight like when you try to draw a straight line without a ruler. Sorta straight-ish. At any rate, very inspirational video. I don't plan on "coming out" until my grandparents die. At least the homophobic ones.

  • I LOVE YOU, LAUREN!!! YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! <33333333333333333333333333

    -Ellen

  • This video needs to be featured. Lauren I think you are an amazing person.

  • Lauren, you are my patronus. That was very inspirational and although I'm straight I support love. It doesn't matter who it's between. Keep up the wrock!!

  • Amazing video.

    Kudos, Lauren.

  • I'm so happy for you!

I've been struggling with my sexuality for awhile, and you've just made me feel better about being myself (:

    <3

  • Because I've gone to a super-conservative Christian school for 10 years, I've always been taught that homo-/bi-sexuality was very wrong, and...

  • ...recently, I started to decide that maybe wasn't right, and Lauren just totally convinced me of that.

  • Lauren is definitely one of my heroes.

  • I admire your courage, Lauren. I think you are amazing.

  • If there were more people like Lauren, the world would be a better place.

  • i love you. i love you very much.

i'm so happy for you! aww :)

  • That was really inspiring, and a very brave thing to do. I think you're an amazing person.

  • Lauren, this made me so happy.

    I don't think you understand.

Like, my eyes were burning with tears.

I miss you a lot and hope I see you at Lancaster.

    <3

  • Bravo! You truly are an inspiration!

  • You're awesome! I honestly don't think you even realize how much I admire you for sharing all that. Not just the last part, but all of it!

  • <3 <3

  • you are AWESOME!

    wrock on!

    <3

  • Lauren, you are awesome.

This takes a lot of courage to post this on YouTube and you did it to help inspire people who are ready to come out to do so. Wow! Just... Wow!

  • love.

  • Lauren, you are a true role model.

  • Lauren, you're amazing. I've been watching your videos for nearly a year now, and I've always admired your honesty. Your courage is truly inspiring, and even though I don't know you in person, I just want to say that I'm insanely proud of you. You're awesome.

  • Lauren, that took a LOT of courage to do.

Though I don't really know you I'm really proud that you had the guts.

I'm quite secure in my sexuality and being straight, but hopefully this gives others who aren't the courage to come out and say if they're gay or bisexual.

    Wonderful video.

    :)

  • =] You're amazing, thanks so much for posting this.

  • Lauren, I absolutely adore you.

You are so amazing, and I'm so proud of you for doing this.

  • You wrock! love your music too!!!

  • Yay, GO LAUREN!!

    Love ya! :)

  • YES!!!!!!

  • Great video, Lauren :-)

  • I'm straight, but GO LAUREN! :)

  • You're my hero. The end.

  • It doesn't matter who a person likes, only what a person is like. And you are truly awesome, Lauren!

  • Awesome video made by an awesome person. :)

  • Yeah, this gave me chills. Good chills. You're amazing Lauren =)

  • Yeah, I pretty much love you.

  • Aww, Yay Lauren! I've been listening to your music and watching your videos for a long time and I'm proud of you for coming out with this video.

I find it so sad that people are judged for being gay or bi-sexual. I hope you continue to inspire people in the wrock and youtube community with your awesomeness. :D

  • You're a beautiful person and this was a beautiful video.

  • Lauren, you are very made of awesome.

I would say many things, most of them repeated from comments below, but I agree with them. (the good ones, obviously)

You (w)rock, and I'm proud to... semi-be associated with you.

    =)

  • This was awesome, Lauren. I don't know if you are allowed to be proud of people that you don't actually know, but I am proud of you for putting yourself out there! Happy Coming Out Week!

  • I love you.

I'm straight, but I didn't know that until I was 11, and my friends always gave me a lot of crap about not liking boys. They still do, because I'm not as easily attracted to people as most of my friends are. Its in a joking way now though, because they accept me. When I was younger, it was always in an accusing manner, which was really awkward...How was I supposed to deny what I didn't even know myself?

  • Wow, Lauren, this is so jokes.

    -huggles-

Thanks for sharing this with us. (:

  • you're wonderful, Lauren!

    and awesome!!

  • Lauren, I applaud your bravery and awesomeness. :)

  • Lauren you are so awesome :) I love that you posted this, it just makes you even more amazing.

  • Lauren, you are so awesome! It's really brave of you to be so honest on youtube! And this was really well said.
