I saw a bunch of these Youtube vids of VH before I went to see them in Boston. Trust me dude, they sound fucking phenomenal live. Dave sang GREAT the night I saw them. They rocked the shit out of The Boston Garden.
I saw them in 82,Hide Your Sheep Tour, and on this recent one, Dave was better.
Saw them last night in Auburn Hills, MI - Best concert I've ever been to! Anyone that has the chance please don't miss it, you will never forget it. David Lee Roth was stellar! What a showman and his voice was booming! Eddie was better that I had ever imagined. They were flawless. The whole crowd remained standing for the whole show! OMG...more, more, more!!! And for all the negatives about the sound...this was recorded with a cell phone Einstein! Don't be afraid to grow a brain!
Recorded with a Digital Camera...but all things considering the sound is not as bad as other videos I have seen...but you are definitely right in everything else you said!
so i saw them in 2004 in louisville with hagar and damn if they didn't sound so much better i've seen a few videos of this tour and honestly it sucks without sammy and michael it's just not as good you can't take two awesome entertainers and musicians like them and replace them with your son and original singer that is waaayyy past his prime NOPE I"M NOT BUYING THIS
Your not paying for this anyway you dumbass!! your getting it for free (ya tight arse cunt!) from utube, which by the way quality is not a priority. How fucking tone deaf stupid are you!! Most of the live recorded bootleg stuff is never as good as an official release. FACT!! I guess your just a bitter fuck that is jealous at not being invited to the party!! Dave did say judge it harshly!! Which Artist these days has to the balls to say that? No one!! which is what you are A NOBODY!!
I hear what your saying...but just because Dave says judge it harshly doesn't mean shit...once he has your money for your ticket...you can do whatever the fuck you want as far as he's concerned....but they are putting on a good show this tour...
hey I will, at least JBJ & band have been around 20+years & still rockin with sell out stadiums. Same guys, always new stuff. I love the VHagar era. I will know listen to the Sam & the wabos--much more a show that this rip-off of a tour. HAND!
Uh huh, why don't I find that surprising, you poser? Hagar and Anchovi go hand in hand. Now go put your Survivor records on and parade around the house in your Liberace outfit. Btw, Anchovi could never hold a candle to Van Halen. And, b/f Anchovi could craft their unique poser sound, VH were selling out stadiums & arenas like clockwork.
Bon Jovi makes music that flows with the trends....they make music that sells...they see that country music is selling now...so what do they do?....they make a country album...I WOULD NOT be surprised it Jon does a duet with 50 Cent....I like Bon Jovi but all they do is follow trends to stay current...
I understand with age the kicks are not as high, and the Roth scream is gone, but without Michael i will pass. I was jerked around at the MTV awards reunion years ago and got my hopes up for nothing. This old school fan from 77 says "Say Goodnight Guys"
Ed used wireless during the 80's and his sound was fine...he used a wireless in 95 as well...his sound was fine....that's the reason why he is using a cord yeah for sound quality...but when it's that loud...your not gonna notice a difference..
llepage9 said, backing vocals are sharp... Michael Anthony was always singing off, too high in my opinion and I've been a fan since I was 12, 28 years ago. Lay off dude, they still rock!!!
Its kind of a sad novelty act now. Not that they don't sound alright I guess, but kids, this is not your father's Van Halen. The show that I saw in the 80's was a roller coaster ride with your hair on fire. Sorry, this just ain't it.
What you saw in the 80's Van Halen was a clown show....Eddie drunk off his ass, Dave forgetting the lyrics, Mikey too worried about chugging Jack than playing bass. Van Halen these days is all about kick-ass rock n' roll....louder than hell and on fire....CASE CLOSED.
CASE OPEN. The vibe is different. It's toned down. VH back in the day, w/ Roth, were the best live band period. They were the ultimate kick-ass party band. It's not better today than then, just different. The culture was also much different, then, as opposed to today. That said, VH is back!
To "cvjucla" I agree that Halen does not sound the same "30" years later(I was there in Hollywood back in 1977) But some bands to hold the sound. Just listen to Judas Priest today>Halford and the boys still rock. Some have it, some dont.
Excellent video, can't wait for 11/8!!! I don't think my seats are far off from where you were, but I'm inside the ramp (seems too far from Eddie though :-(
Somebody get Sammy a doctor! Dave is kicking Sammy's ass forever outta VH history! The dark age of Van Hagar is over....DLR and the VH boys are back! They are/will reclaim their title America's greatest rock band ever!
I WAS THERE!!! GREAT no AMAZING SHOW!!!

evh5150316 4 years ago
Those are pre-recorded triggered vocals.
There is about 1 chance in a trillion that wolfe would exactly like mike anthony
They hired someone who sounded like anthony and recorded him. Its plain as day. I would bet both eddie and wolfes mics arent even on.

You are a comple idiot. He doesn't sound like Michael Anthony - he sounds like Wolfgang Van Halen...
Hope you never make me a burger at the burger joint! It people like that can't even get that right!

"Why does Eddie refuse to use cordless?"
Probably because it can be very touchy where feedback and general sound quality is concerned.
