oh mygoodness!! i am impressed! i am a native korean and i have tried teaching korean to many americans, and the first noticeable "awkwardness' i see in them is the pronunciation. they often put in sounds that are not a part of the korean sonds. you have no awkardness with the pronunciation! and i am so amazed with your knowledge in the vocabulary such as 유산 or your knowledge in the korean culture. and all of it gained in 2 short years! you are a natural. keep up the good work!

My ex told me when he went to Korean recently he saw all these white girls speaking Korean and it reminded him of me and it was trippin him out at the same time. They aren't just strangers once you do. ^^ I didn't exactly just add anyone. People added me, and then after a few conversations, if I decided that they were weird, I deleted them. @musicislove4ever Okay haha. Well, yeah, but in my opinion, K-pop is superficial, inartistic, and unoriginal. Therefore, by loving K-pop before and more than anything else, one's love for Korea is often superficial, conditional, narrow, and highly selective. @gyoshilxxidea HAHA no not offended at all! I am a musician so I know where you are coming from. I was like that at first and the english I listen to is heavy metal/screamo. I don't listen to mainstream english music but in saying that, when I write songs I don't write songs like K-pop and I don't write heavy metal. I think I am interested in the 2 different styles because they are different from what I write so both styles just give me a broader range of music styles to choose from ^^ idk...
@musicislove4ever Yeah, I'm a musician too. I don't know... It just seems like every song is the same and every group is the same.. and all of the girls are tall and underweight.. and all of the guys dye their hair, are tall, work out, etc.. and almost all of both sexes undergo plastic surgery... It doesn't project solid values to those who admire it. Body image is a major issue in Korea because of the media..... and I wish more people still played actual instruments.
@gyoshilxxidea Totally 100% agree with you. I listen to it because it pleasant, and I don't listen to girl groups apart from 2ne1 and Gavy NJ but even on non-korean guys I like dyed hair. When I am 18 I am going to experiment. LoL I do dislike the plastic surgery and the need for absolute perfection though! That is a bit overrated, however, americans do it all the time as well =/

I have watched like my girlfriend is a gumiho, secret garden, dream high, my princess, sungkyunkwan scandal, it's okay daddy's daughter, marry me mary, mischievous kiss, personal taste, I am 8th ep in with prosecutor princess BUT the 1st (and best in my opinion) was you're beautiful. And then I have watched so many movies I can't keep track. I also watch Jap movies ^^

@musicislove4ever (cont.) textbooks in Korea ^^;; but you can buy a ton of them online (hanbooks . com). Mine are Yonsei University's textbooks. They come with audio. I also bought a grammar book on hanbooks (Korean Grammar for International Learners - by Yonsei University Press). So, yeah. That's what I've used. A few textbooks, a grammar book, a few websites, friends, and Korean classes. =]

You are really great Korean speaker. Nice pronunciation, proper accent, very fluent, also charming voice. A few small grammar mistakes does not matter. Kathleen Stephens 주한 미 대사 같이 앞으로 휼륭한 분이 되길 기원해요. 한국 가서 영어 교사 하는것 보다는 대학에서 비즈니스 나 정치학과 나 아시아 학과 에 관련된 major 를 공부해서 Samsung 이나 LG 같은 회사에 일하거나 아니면 ambassy 쪽 으로 일해도 될것 같아요. 한국가서 영어 가르치는것은 썩 좋은일이 아니거던요. 방학때 나가서 아르바이트 정도는 괜 찮지만 미나양 은 그냥 영어 강사로 는 아까울것 같아요.

I got so much impression from your Korean. Korean is obviously difficult language to learn. I think you're doing pretty well. If you wanna get a job in Korea, english teacher is gonna be a promising job with quite good salary. Take advantage of many Korean students in U.S. as we do foreigners in Korea. The more you read about Korean's english, The more you would understand about it. the only thing I'm worring over is that you might feel disappointed with the heartless Seoulite. good luck :)

안녕하세요, 민아씨~동영상과 기사 봤어요.^^ 한국말 정말 잘하시네요. 네이트 기사를 보니 한국말 잘한다는 댓글들로 가득하네요. 이렇게 열정을 가지고 한국말을 배우는 외국인은 처음봐요. 한국에 와서 꼭 훌륭한 선생님이 되어주세요.^^ 방송출연하거나 책을 쓰는 등 다양하게 많이 활동해주셨으면 좋겠어요. 한국인이 듣는데도 전혀 어색하지가 않네요. 외국인들에게 한국발음은 많이 힘들텐데 노력의 정도가 보이네요. 보통 외국어배우면 억양이나 발음은 소홀히 하기 쉬운데 모두 완벽하시네요. 독학이니 더 대단하게 느껴지네요. 저는 한국나이로 19살이예요^^ 한국에는 아직 한국말을 잘하는 원어민 선생님이 많이 부족해요. 영어를 잘하지 않으면 알아듣기가 힘든 것이 사실이예요. 영어를 잘하던 못하던 모두가 영어를 잘 배울 수 있도록 해주세요.

My ex told me when he went to Korean recently he saw all these white girls speaking Korean and it reminded him of me and it was trippin him out at the same time. Your accent is good though, many people just cant get past that and will never sound like true Korean, but you are rad.

도저히 믿겨지지가 않네요... 민아씨는 단어선택이나 문법 표현에서는 한국의 10대와 구별이 되지않고 심지어 어조나 억양까지 완벽합니다. 약간의 발음('혀 꼬부라진 소리'라고 하죠) 차이만 빼면 눈감고 들으면 한국 여고생인 줄 알겠습니다. 메인주가 한국사람들이 많이사는 곳은 아닌 걸로 아는데 어떻게 2년만에 그렇게 배우셨는지 정말 놀랍습니다. 한국말이 특히 미국인에게 배우기 어려운 언어라는 걸 저는 알거든요. 몇 번 가르치다 지쳐봐서...

What made me love Korean... Well, when I was in 6th grade, I had a crush on a Korean boy and wanted to learn Korean to get closer to him.. xD He moved away a couple of months later, and I haven't seen him since, but I realized that I was falling in love with Korean. At first, I studied online by myself, and then I found a Korean church that teaches Korean. I've been taking classes there...

@musicislove4ever It isn't dangerous unless you give them personal information.. I've actually met a few really great people online. And you get to know them! They aren't just strangers once you do. ^^ I didn't exactly just add anyone. People added me, and then after a few conversations, if I decided that they were weird, I deleted them. Not everyone who loves Korea loves K-pop. I don't really have any time to watch them, but I've seen a few (Winter Sonata; Stairway to Heaven; Coffee Prince; Cinderella Man; Shining Inheritance, Pasta; I'm sorry, I love You). =] I like watching movies more than watching dramas.

I honestly liked the music first before I noticed the looks. @musicislove4ever Okay haha. Well, yeah, but in my opinion, K-pop is superficial, inartistic, and unoriginal. Therefore, by loving K-pop before and more than anything else, one's love for Korea is often superficial, conditional, narrow, and highly selective. I could go on for a long time explaining what I don't like about the K-pop industry, but I'll pass for now. I prefer music that sounds original and.. musical. @gyoshilxxidea HAHA no not offended at all! I am a musician so I know where you are coming from. I was like that at first and the english I listen to is heavy metal/screamo. I don't listen to mainstream english music but in saying that, when I write songs I don't write songs like K-pop and I don't write heavy metal. I think I am interested in the 2 different styles because they are different from what I write so both styles just give me a broader range of music styles to choose from ^^ idk...

It just seems like every song is the same and every group is the same.. and all of the girls are tall and underweight.. and all of the guys dye their hair, are tall, work out, etc.. and almost all of both sexes undergo plastic surgery... It doesn't project solid values to those who admire it. Body image is a major issue in Korea because of the media..... and I wish more people still played actual instruments.

@gyoshilxxidea Totally 100% agree with you. I listen to it because it pleasant, and I don't listen to girl groups apart from 2ne1 and Gavy NJ but even on non-korean guys I like dyed hair. When I am 18 I am going to experiment. LoL I do dislike the plastic surgery and the need for absolute perfection though! That is a bit overrated, however, americans do it all the time as well =/

I have watched like my girlfriend is a gumiho, secret garden, dream high, my princess, sungkyunkwan scandal, it's okay daddy's daughter, marry me mary, mischievous kiss, personal taste, I am 8th ep in with prosecutor princess BUT the 1st (and best in my opinion) was you're beautiful. And then I have watched so many movies I can't keep track. I also watch Jap movies ^^

Wow, that sucks. :/ I don't know what to tell you. Look for some books or something in bookstores like Borders. That earring thing is a little random.. xD Why do you want them?.. Again, meeting people over facebook is usually safe if you're safe about it. I don't recommend meeting them in real life if you met them over facebook, though.

@musicislove4ever (cont.) textbooks in Korea ^^;; but you can buy a ton of them online (hanbooks . com). Mine are Yonsei University's textbooks. They come with audio. I also bought a grammar book on hanbooks (Korean Grammar for International Learners - by Yonsei University Press). So, yeah. That's what I've used. A few textbooks, a grammar book, a few websites, friends, and Korean classes. =]

can't believe that a person can speak any foreign language that fluently just in 2 years. considering that korean is one of the toughest languages to learn for a native english speaker, it's just amazing. my case, having studied english for about 10 years though, i can't even properly order my foods in mcdonald's. you must be a language genius. keep your talent alive!

I think working in global organization like UN or something special like that will be perfect for your ability. I'm only a sophomore in high school, so I have a lot of time to think about it, but I've been researching colleges and everything lately. You are really great Korean speaker. Nice pronunciation, proper accent, very fluent, also charming voice. A few small grammar mistakes does not matter. 유행도 빨리빨리변하고 아시아의 헐리웃 이라 할만큼 지금은 드라마 나 k팝이
아시아권은 장악한상태고 유럽이나 아메리카 쪽으로 퍼지고 있습니다.
밤문화가 활성화되어있는나라 이기때문에 음주문화~~;;
어쨌든 친목단체 가 좀 많은 관계로 회사원들 이 술은 자주하는편입니다.

@gyoshilxxidea 민아양 은 하나님께 축복받은것 이 에요...바라기는 앞으로 한국과 미국을 위해 열심히 일하리라 봐요. Kathleen Stephens 주한 미 대사 같이 앞으로 휼륭한 분이 되길 기원해요. 한국 가서 영어 교사 하는것 보다는 대학에서 비즈니스 나 정치학과 나 아시아 학과 에 관련된 major 를 공부해서 Samsung 이나 LG 같은 회사에 일하거나 아니면 ambassy 쪽 으로 일해도 될것 같아요. 한국가서 영어 가르치는것은 썩 좋은일이 아니거던요. 방학때 나가서 아르바이트 정도는 괜 찮지만 미나양 은 그냥 영어 강사로 는 아까울것 같아요.

제 친구들도 제가 소개해서 몇명 한국으로 영어선생님하러 갔는데요 한국은 정부지원이라 아파트 잡거나 스폰서 잡기가 정말 너무 편하실거에요!!

와우 한국어 너무 잘하시네요. 발음도 정확하고 어법또한 거의 정확합니다. 전 중학교부터 10년이상 영어를 접했지만 영어를 잘 못하는대 말이지요^^ 꿈을 이루시고. 한국과 좋은인연 이어가셨으면 좋겠네요.

wow.. incredible, you barely have an accent. It's not quite natural yet, but if you ever make your way to korea i'm sure you'll sound like a Korean within 3 months time.

I got so much impression from your Korean. Korean is obviously difficult language to learn. I think you're doing pretty well. If you wanna get a job in Korea, english teacher is gonna be a promising job with quite good salary. Take advantage of many Korean students in U.S. as we do foreigners in Korea. The more you read about Korean's english, The more you would understand about it. the only thing I'm worring over is that you might feel disappointed with the heartless Seoulite. good luck :)

영어강사 뿐만 아니라, 훨씬 더 다양한 직업을 가질 수 있을꺼에요. 최근에 미국 기업과 교류, 협력이 엄청나게 늘어나고 있어서 직업 수요가 아주 많은데,

한국이 아니더라도, 미국에서 기아자동차, 현대자동차, 삼성, 엘지 같은 한국 회사 취직하셔도 될듯싶습니다.. 한국어를 잘하니 말입니다.. 아마 독학해서 그정도까지 공부했다고 하면 많은 가산점을 줄듯 싶습니다..
