Crest of the Stars is actually Seikai no Monsho, and was made to be a kind of introduction to Seikai no Senki. A prequel if you will. The meat of the series is in Seikai no Senki I, II, and III.
Seikai no Densho is the prequel's prequel. Go figure.
there are no episodes on youtube as it is licensed by ban dai. so it'll be hard to find any of the old torrents. but you can probably find the dvds for them.
KyaKoshina do you know if there is a release date yet? I didn't see one so I was wondering when it'll be released in stores. To be honest I don't trust online sites like that.
there is definately a book that takes place after SnS II, i'm not sure if they are going to make another series called SnS 3 that uses the books story. but it would be great if they did!
actually there are 3 "seasons" first off is crest of the stars, followed by Seikai no Senki and than finally Seikai no Senki II. after that there are novels that take place after SnS II. thanks for the comment!

This was THE AMV that inspired me to create my own COTS AMV back in 2007. What an incredibly moving vid!

Seikai no Senki = Banner of the Stars = Battleflag of the Stars
Senki translates to Battle Flag (I think its those banners carried by cavalry men in battles), which was shorten to Banner for the DVD title.
