  • I really wanted to take some time out to thank you. You took time out of your extremely busy schedule to show us the basics - I must admit i too was a wee bit intimidated by the program when i first opened it up! Thanks!

  • thank you so much for this help !

I got a big problem though, when exporting i have no sound on my clips, help?! =)

    greetz from belgium!

  • Waiting for part 1 :(

  • Thanks for the video! ¿How do I use separate curves?

  • @inaitvad Hi! Right click in the top of the curve menu area (not inside the curve box) and un-check Gang Custom Curves. This will un-gang the tie between luminance and chrominance in the curve tool. Thanks!

  • @ItsNotFlare Thanks! I'm used to Color Finesse but looking foward to use Resolve. Sorry for my english.

  • Thanks for the workflow overview. Very helpful!

  • Thank you so much for this tutorial! I'm used to Color, so when I booted up Resolve for the first time, I was totally lost. Hope to see more!

  • Thanks! Great tutorial.

  • can't get the PC version to see my hard drives :(

My windows doesn't sit in drive C - only T...

  • @CoolColJ you have to add your media drive or folder location in the preferences like I show in the video. inside preferences just add the root or folder where you keep your footage for grading.

  • Hey, really appreaciate your tutorials.

I'm just getting started with DaVinci resolve Lite and I'm little confused. I can't see any of my footage on the browser tab. My footages are most in AVCHD, I'm on the beta version of the davinci lite for windows.

Thank you for your help !

  • @TheMagnas26 Hi! Thanks for the compliments. It seems that at this time you must transcode to another format from .MTS before loading the footage into Davinci. maybe convert with adobe CS?

  • thanks man for this tutorial!! :-)

  • Hey man, I have a problem. When I open up Davinci Suite Lite, I can't see the whole screen, it's like if it's is to big, and I cant scroll down. It cuts off half the program. Do you have any solutions to this? I just downloaded it, and was anxious to try this tutorial. Thanks in advance.

  • @believableliar I'm the same. Can someone please help resolve this. Thanks

  • @believableliar Resolve has a pretty large interface that will only be seen properly on bigger monitors. So if you're working with say a 13" or 15" Macbook Pro then you'll have to resize accordingly. If you youtube "Davinci Resolve Lite | 1A. How To Configure User Interface" it'll teach you how to do so. :)

  • Thanks!

  • One thing I'd love to see you explain, is how to use the different scops? I think the Parades are used by most. But I'm not really sure what I'm trying to do with them, say in a primary grade? Maybe you can touch on that topic in a future video. Thanks!

  • @FilmFactry Yes - that sounds like a good topic to address next - What are scopes and how do we use them.

  • @ItsNotFlare Thanks Dan! I have a thread linking to your Resolve Tutorials at the GH-2 Hack site Personal View. I'll update any future videos you put up there as well. A pretty large GH-2 group with AVCHD INTRA GOP1 176m/bs 1080p cameras.

personal-view - DaVinci Resolve 8.1.1 Lite, DNxHD and GH-2 footage

Sorry it won't let me include the link here but you can google it.

  • Hi! It does not seem to import .mts (AVCHD) files natively at this time - I'll look into adding that capability to it somehow. It does however import DNXHD files natively. Thanks for asking!

  • Very good tutorial. You showed it exporting in DNxHD. Will it import DNxHD as well? I know there was a $500 license before to use that? Also, I shoot with a GH-2. Will this recognize .MTS format (AVCHD)? Just to play around, I'd rather not have the added step to transcode first with 5DtoRGB into DNxHD.

  • Thank you!
