  • ive been told that target retail was by far the easiest though

  • retail pharmacy= waste of pharmacy knowledge... it takes a special person to put up with all the bullshit from retail patients though... Though they can more likely tell you the ins and outs of different insurance policies rather than drug info, retail pharmacists deserve the big bucks solely due to the stressful nature of their work

  • if she so smart, how come she just work as a pharmacyst at target.....

  • And stop making corporate decisions without asking the pharmacists who actually do the work at the store level. OH and extra tech hours for the EXTRA things you are making pharmacists do. It quite ridiculous. I should start some kind of Target pharmacy petition for convincing the Target to quit making their pharmacists work alone so they can actually take care of their patients.

  • man I think I can keep doing this all day, anyways, they want the pharmacists to do all this ALONE. It's only a matter of time when they are burned out. I hope they see my post XD and give those pharmacists actual help. Oh, and those non-pharmacy people cannot ring people up at the pharmacy because they are not pharmacy trained. It takes them a second to make a mistake by giving the wrong bag to the customers.

  • selling otc items, pulling recalled drugs, doing return to stock, checking in the order, placing supply order, doing store trainings/ store meetings/ extra store forms that have nothing to do with pharmacy daily operation, giving flu shots, handling audits, doing extra work that corporate office wants you to do out of the blue/ and then they realize that it was a bad decision after they screwed up some numbers/ being treated like a drug abuser by the company,

  • Without having a tech around, how is the pharmacist supposed to get out of the pharmacy to answer all the questions people have in the store, when the pharmacist is answering the phone, taking prescriptions from phone, helping people who are dropping off, picking up, filling prescriptions, printing the freaking autofills with the PDX, labeling the prescription bottles that takes 10 more steps than other pharmacies...

  • Are you kidding me? They don't give you tech hours for low volume Target pharmacies. My friend works at a tech there, they only have 20 hours a WEEK! Target does not realize that there are basic daily operational things that go on in the pharmacy. You can't not do those things to run the pharmacy properly. Now I know Target pharmacists are very nice, but they are stressed because they don't have basic help.

  • I just saw the Spanish version of this. It was trippy --- like walking through the Looking glass! Search for "Yo soy farmacéutica."

  • when i went to target and saw a pharmacist she was mexican and kept sneezing all over me.hire more Asians

  • Does anyone know the name of the song played in the background??

  • @KeroppiKiddo3 The Unicorns - I was born a Unicorn

    Really amazing band!

  • @degausser8 Thanks! :D

  • LMAO, Pharmacists ARE NOT doctors at all...Thats like saying the people who work at Starbucks are "Baristas", lol, Uh, no you're not....You're a cashier....

  • @ballpeenbaby Incorrect. Pharmacists are doctors, doctors of pharmacy. However, they are not doctors of medicine. Confusing isn't it? :)

  • @ehenyor lol

  • @ballpeenbaby how very uninformed of you!

  • She is just to Cute!

  • This commercial gives me mixed messages. No offense, but such a genius just ends up with Target Pharmacy, isn't she supposed to discover some cure for deadly disease?

  • @tintinban Just a target pharmacist? Try looking up what a pharmacist has to go through. Did you know that between a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, and pharmacist that the pharmaicst is the only professional that undergoes extensive pharmacokinetics? Not only that but NP and PA hardly see any if at all! Yet the only one without prescribing authority is the pharmacist? Pharmacists are a unique tool that is becoming more and more utilized. Not "Just a Pharmacist"

  • @tintinban Perhaps she chose pharmacy because she could use her intelligence in a field that will monetarily reward it and has a relatively flexible schedule. My father is a MD, my mother-in-law is a researcher (MD/PhD), and my father-in-law is a surgeon and med. school prof. (MD/PhD). Not only do I know more about drugs than they do, I'll be making more starting off than any of them did and will have more free time - I've only met my father-in-law two or three times because of how busy he is!

  • I know the young girl in real life. Her name is Eastynn, shes 14 now.

  • @colliercaden you know her too. i do too, she sometimes comes to my house because my mom introduce me to her

  • What song IS THIS

  • Virginia=Virgin....

  • @GbMemorys Hm, these days that name is a lot less common...

  • What song is this?!

  • @x360addictable i was born a unicorn - the unicorns

  • Nerds Rule! Not!

  • is that a actual song in the background? anyone know what it is?

  • Was that really you as a young child?

  • @1967nita They are just actresses (except the last one who is the real Virginia). They pick similar looking girls, dress them up similarly, comb their hair similarly, and give them the same red frame glasses. It's enough to fool your eyes into making the connection. It's quite common trick in TV shows, but if you think about it do you have the same hairstyle you did as a kid? Probably not :)

  • In the commercial, is that really you from a young child to adult or was there stand-ins?

  • Somebody please tell me what she says after she gets congratulated when receiving her diploma. What does she say??

  • @AnahiIsDead inflamed uvela

  • @borendom omg i cant stop saying it now!! lol thanks! "D

  • @AnahiIsDead Inflamed uvula. She's saying why his voice sounds all raspy and sick. lol

  • @AnahiIsDead Inflamed uvula

  • St Johns Pharmacy class of 2017 leggooooo

  • THE UNICORNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yay, pharmacy! :) most underrated profession ever. uneducated people think we don't do anything -- and then we spend 8 crazy difficult years of schooling under the radar -- and then 8 years later, we're making 6 digit salaries and working 3 days a week at a cushy retail store. nice. :)

  • Pharmacists make bank.....

  • @livverde It is a waste of talent. As a Pharm.D; I can honestly say anyone that talented should be a real doctor. A 6 year Pharm.D. doesn't make you a real doctor. It's only a year of rotations removed from a regular R.Ph who isn't a doctor but can competently do the job this young lady is doing. Pharmacy is truly for people who like to be paid well and who want to be able to leave their work at work. If you want to make a big difference an MD will always make a greater impact.

  • Expect more(from employees), Pay less.

  • after my teacher saw this commercial she told me i remind her of this lady now she thinks i should be a pharmacist!!!!!!i wanna be a actrice!!!!

  • when is youtube going to upgrade their comment system?

  • I want to meet her.

  • eu li outra coiza na hora ki apareçeu o nome da menina (VIRGINA')

    SHAUHSUHASUHA

  • iam a pharmacist..yes pharmacist are bright people

  • I'm a curious seeker too.. Wait... what,..curious seeker? I don't seek curious. I mean... I am curious..and I seek curiou~ hey, this is confusing me. What is the meaning of this! Target!

  • lol all that then ending up working at a local target pharmacy. life is a troll

  • THE SONG IS "I WAS BORN A UNICORN" by THE UNICORNS. i love that song :,)

  • whats that song

  • Whoa!!! Go Gabriella!!!!!!! You did awesome :)

  • Go UCSF School of Pharmacy !

  • Awesome commercial, with a cool message! Great casting. Yaaaay Gabriella, u did amazing :)

  • Am I the only one that thinks Virginia (the adult one) is kind of cute?

  • target sucks

  • Pharmacists have the most knowledge about drugs than any other health professionals including the doctors. The doctors make tons of errors on drugs prescriptions, Pharmacist usually catch the mistakes and report back to the doctor. There is a reason why Pharmacists make a six figure salary.

  • Love the commercial, my daughter is the people pleaser that wants all her friends to feel better lol, what a great few days working with all of these people :)

  • The TALENT is BRILLIANT and worked very hard and the lady at the end is a REAL Pharmacist!!!!!!!!!!!!! My daughter is in the 2nd and 3rd scene...at the Science Fair and on the Gameshow. Great job on this commercial!!!

  • @gholland951 Thanks for sharing. . . when I saw this ad, I thought how great it was for Target to show that young ladies can grow up to be anything they want to be.

  • When I saw this on my TV I stood up and yelled "THE UNICORNS!!!" good thing no one was around. x)

  • I was never able to get a date in high school and college. I am a target pharmacist! ***as she cries and drinks herself to a stupor

  • I was born a unicorn. I missed the ark but I could have sworn, you'd wait for me.

  • A pharmacist is like the middle man between the doctor and the patient. Just because they would work at target or CVS doesn't mean they don't make 100k + LOL. Their job isn't easy.

  • Im in it from seconds @0:11 - @0:16 :)

  • THE UNICORNS!!!

  • @RealityDefenseLeague

I'm the second one, the people pleaser :)

  • Whats the name of the song?

THumbs up the answer so everyone can see it

  • @ray274 I Was Born (A Unicorn) - The Unicorns

  • I mean Pittsburg CA haha.

  • She's a real pharmacist that works in the Antioch CA pharmacy!

  • Way to GO Gabriella. :)

  • I'm in this commercial :) I'm the middle one !

  • @TheESHC Three different girls?

  • Why not becoming a biomedical researcher if she's that talented! Are we saying Target pharmacist is the max of her potential?

  • @carrothuy

Pharmacists are completely over qualified on what they do in retail and in clinical. Hell, pharmacy students aren't even challenged in pharmacy school. Pharmacy schools teach students how to use a scale and learn how to type as part of the curriculum! I've seen some pretty smart undergraduate biology students enter pharmacy school and exit more stupid before they have entered. This is due to a "follow the cook book mentality." There is no out of the box thinking.

  • @truebreakerz11 I have no idea what pharmacy school you speak of. But I assure you, that at the University of Toledo of nearly 400 people that apply to the PharmD program, only 108 make it in. I am one of them. My classmates are some of the most intelligent and insightful people I have ever met. We are always tired, exhausted, frustrated - but we are challenged and in no way has pharmacy school been easy. If you have any more doubts, join me for a semester, and we'll see how you feel.

  • @blinkofani07

I would love to join you for a semester or 8. Just get me in. ;)

  • @truebreakerz11 You can't generalize all pharmacy schools based on the area that you live in and probably only 5 or 6 people that you know. Pharmacy schools are all over the country and each of them has their own way of teaching and developing their students. My school does a remarkable job at preparing their pharmacy students.

  • @carrothuy You are such a moron, at least half my class had biochem degrees including myself and quite a few had masters and actually worked in biochemical research, again including myself. Research may be intellectually challenging even exciting at first, but in the long run it's depressing and there is no money in it. You can be just as intellectually challenged death and life decisions on someone's heart failure therapy strategy or anticoag meds as you are in research, only paid better :)

  • @cutecheburashka Maybe I wasn't being very clear... Nothing against pharmacists. My argument was regarding how women are portrayed in this particular commercial. If it were a man shown, he would probably end up shown as a researcher with groundbreaking discovery... Money is not the issue, most people going into research seek to make difference, at least the people I work with do, money is considered byproducts.

  • @carrothuy they do make a difference. you don't know what goes on in the pharmacy. they're checking for drug-drug interactions, accurate dosing etc...they're not just counting pills.

  • The age progression in this is so good its uncanny.

    Target, stop your cloning experiments!

  • i thot her name was vagina.............

wen i saw the commercial i was like "WTF HER NAMES VAGINA"?

then i read her name carefully during the game show thingy part

    OOOOO ITS VIRGINIA

  • What is this song

  • @7mac11s838s It's called "I Was Born A Unicorn" by The Unicorns.

  • Believe it or not, Virginia is MY pharmacist from the Pittsburg, CA store on Century Boulevard!!! WHOO HOO! hahah.

  • Gabriella Holland plays Virginia from .04 sec to .10 secs. She is the one on the game show. I don't know the other girls names.

  • Come to think of it, my annoyance with this commercial may have more to do with the fact that the character here is extremely smart, knows that she's smart and isn't humble about it in the least.

She's smarter than the rest of us, and she wants us to know it......it reminds me of certain people I went to school with, none of whom were liked very much by the rest of my peers. This commercial may turn a lot of people off

And I still say this commercial airs WAY TOO OFTEN!

  • I actually find this commercial annoying, and I'm not sure why.

It may have something to do with the fact that it's CONSTANTLY running on the airwaves lately!

  • idk but the last 2 don't really look like the other girls lol

  • What are the names of the actresses who play Virginia?

  • THE UNICORNS!

  • Go Virginia!!! MCPHS Class of 2009 all the way!! If it weren't for pharmacists, doctors mistakes would kill tons of people. We know a lot about disease states, how to treat them and what to prescribe.. that's why there is a line at my consultation window every day asking for my advice. These commercials finally give us a little recognition on how we provide excellent patient care and we're not just 'drug dealers' like ignorant people think.

  • @TheNutPharm I just like the name MCPHS, one of my good friends goes there. I tease her that it sounds like a McD's soda, the "McFizz"

  • @TheNutPharm

"Patient Consultation" - Read off label...

-Don't deny it, almost all pharmacists do it.

  • @TheNutPharm Yes, I recognize Virginia from my Target pharmacy in Pittsburg, CA....its quite funny because I saw this commercial for the first time today and was like, "Oh sh*!, thats my pharmacist at Target!" such a small world. I'll be sure to point that out to her the next time I go...heheh

  • @calstud4life she's' a real person???? cause i LOVE this commercial!

  • I know the girl at 0:11 lol :P

  • The song is I Was Born a Unicorn by The Unicorns.

  • no one finds it ironic that she was a super genius at school but works at Target o-o'' lol jkkz

  • @dbzkid714 I find is ironic. I think it's sad... she is a super genius but she will be working behind that counter for many years.....

  • @MiniComplainer you're closed minded...she's making the biggest impact of anyone. Do you know how many years super genius people have been working on a cure for cancer and we still don't have one. Working behind the counter and counseling people will save many more lives from over-dosing than a researcher waiting for a big break in a lab may have encounter.

  • poor girl... working at shit ass k mart instead of shit ass Walgreens

  • haha. Inflamed uvula.

  • This is a sad statement of today's culture. For a moment assume this girl is as bright and as intelligent as she is in the commercial. She ends up spending her whole life studying to be a pharmacy tech at a big box store. This is yet another tragic waste of American talent. Women like this should be Doctors and Scientists. It's hard enough getting women into STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) careers already. This commercial sends the wrong message: "It's OK to dumb yourself down."

  • @tyrrax She's a "Pharmacist" not a "Pharmacy Tech" and will be making 6 figures.

  • Not as much as a Doctor. Even as a Pharmacist it is still a waste of talent.

  • @tyrrax Pharmacists are doctors. They have doctorate degrees in pharmacy. Waste of talent? I think not. Next time do some research. It'll save you from making a fool out of yourself. :-)

  • @livverde Lets see. No favorites. One friend that looks like they've been banned. Yeah...you've got the stench of a corporate shill all around you. You could at least try to sound like a real person instead of being a corporate tool.

  • @livverde it was a waste of talent i mean who goes to the target pharmacy? id rather go to kaiser where the people actually know what they're doing and not target where they get kids straight out of collage who think they know what they are doing.

  • @livverde I have been a pharmacist for almost 4 years now and have a pharm.d.

Although the schooling was difficult and long ( 6 years) I have a great career,

the ability to get a job anywhere and make very decent money

  • @livverde damn you owned me too.....

  • @audiobabie

Pharm Techs do most of the work and make only a 1/4 of what the pharmacist makes...

  • Comment removed

  • @tyrrax That lady is not a pharmacy technician...she's an actual pharmacist! Matter of fact, she is the pharmacist at my local Target store.

  • @calstud4life no shes not she's a paid actor they wouldn't use a real pharmacist because people would keep coming up to her and distracting her making it hard for her to work. you might have these people fooled but i like to use logic.

  • @tyrrax what do you do for a living?

  • @trekkian88 No. It looks like it was only you. Idiot.

  • I was born a Unicorn...great song in the commercial.

  • Are these girls all related?

  • @Hatterasman no no their not

  • I'm a brainwashed tool. I'm a pharmacist.

  • its funny cuz shes sooo smart and u would think she would get a really good career that will pay her good money. but then she turns to be a target pharmacist.

  • @wate4540 retail pays the most

  • @wate4540 A target pharmacist that still makes six figures...!

  • @calstud4life but why settle for target. why not in a real hospital?

  • @wate4540 they do get paid good money...

  • THIS IS SO CUTE

  • Better hope for her sake she doesn't become a lesbian then...

  • she's so cool (jk)

  • that was cute

  • this commercial is so unrealistic. pharmacy is not "fun". it's not about knowing stuff and sounding smart. it's about the health and well being of patients.

  • @blinkofani07 Half true...being a pharmacist *is* about knowing stuff... It is your knowledge base that will allow you to provide the best possible care for your patients.

  • @DrunkenCellist What i meant was it's about applying the knowledge, not rattling off facts, meds and various conditions like portrayed in this video. She says - "I'm a medical dictionary". What good is a medical dictionary to a patient? How is it useful when anyone can research that stuff online? I'm in my first year of pharmacy school at the U of Toledo (i'm going for a PharmD) and maybe I don't know much yet - but this is a disgusting glamorization of the profession I'm studying VERY hard for!

  • @blinkofani07 I think it's sad but true that sometimes, being able to rattle off the relevant information and terminology from the top of your head is what it takes to get physicians to trust you. But you're right that it does no good (and would really be counterproductive) when interacting with a patient and that this video is rather exaggerated.

  • @blinkofani07 Being a medical dictionary so you can put those terms in lay people terms :)

  • @blinkofani07 You're right, being a pharmacist is all about being compassionate and friendly. You shouldn't have any knowledge at all!

  • @calstud4life Read what I wrote above to DrunkenCellist. Yeah, pharmacists have to know a lot. (I might know a little about that, considering I'm studying to be one). But how is this a good portrayal of a pharmacist? If a pharmacist recited ochem and pathology factoids to you, would you be impressed and trust their judgement? All this commercial shows is the girl rattling off answers, that supposedly sound intelligent. That doesn't make a pharmacist seem any smarter than a parrot. BAD AD!!!

  • @blinkofani07 definitely not fun! LOL bc people are so mean and rude... you wouldn't believe it!

  • @azxc49 i was born a unicorn. best song ever

  • Yay! my friend appears in this ad!

    She's the girl from 0:11-0:16.

  • @Russiarules1 Your friend is a cutie. How old is she?

  • darf

  • all this girl amounts to is a fucking target pharmacist

  • @donniedarko2864212 Target pharmacists make a shitload of money....I don't know what you're complaining about!

  • @donniedarko2864212 I bet she has done more in her short life than a creep like you has ever (or will ever) do in your entire life.

  • @donniedarko2864212 just curious... what do you do for a living?

  • @donniedarko2864212 When you are flipping burgers because you failed out of your pre-med biology degree, just remember this girl making $135,000 plus bonuses.

  • Pittsburg!!!

  • @nashnooga for reals, I noticed that, too! Pittsburg, Century Boulevard. AWESOME!

  • This is pretty amazing. Very good. Ohh and,

Name of the song? Please and thank you.

  • @azxc49 I was born a Unicorn! I wish they would come back. Check out Islands.
