  • What's gonna happen when their present customer base turns 50? GM needs to re-instate Pontiac as the rightful performance division and allow Cadillac to carry its traditional luxury banner. GM needs a crack team of engineers, stylists and artisans to once more undo the damage inflicted by decades of mismanagement and return it to its position of pre-eminence as No.1 automaker in the world. They did it before and they can do it again!

  • Are the helmet and racing clothing standard on Cadillacs these days? Now I've seen it all !!!GM!!! Are you listening???This is absurd,Cadillac is a luxury marque, not a racing car.I doubt if any owner will ever want to drive their new Cadillac on the Nuerburgring!!! What's the point, anyway!!! PLEASE !!! Get real !!! Besides, compact and luxury are contradictory terms!!! Where does the luxury come in in a compact car??? I want an Eldorado or a Fleetwood Brougham or a Sedan de Ville. You've lost me!!

  • @Mrtriumphchopper They have an ATS-V coming up idiot which competes with the M3 and E63 AMG

  • @Greendude33 Who gives a fuck? When I pay for the Cadillac wreath and crest I expect a large, roomy, luxuriously appointed and mechanically refined car. M series aren't exactly setting sales records,so why go after a market that barely exists?Stick with what you know and you'll succeed!!! (BTW... The Cadillac Sixteen is my idea of a Caddy!)

  • @Mrtriumphchopper Before Cadillac's resurgence BMW was the number 1 selling luxury brand in the US so actually there's quite a large market and Cadillac is making all the right moves...

If you want a lazy soft luxury cruiser then buy a Buick or Lincoln... Cadillac is returning to its true roots of being America's luxury brand a status symbol.. No one want's those 1970's boats anymore.

  • @Mrtriumphchopper As for the Cadillac Sixteen yes that was badass but it sure as hell wasn't a lazy boat it had a 1000HP 11.5 Liter V16 that cars was about pure over the top luxury and excess... It was not an AARP Cadillac like you're wanting...

The concept Caddillac really should have made was the Cien a hypercar with a 750HP V12 which would have been Cadillac's answer to the Mercedes SLR

  • @Mrtriumphchopper: Cadillac is also trying to lower their age appeal. They simply want to sell more cars to younger people. They are not gonna do that by making large roomy cars like they did in the 70,s 80s, and 90s. So now they've chosen to rival BMW in the sports sedan and sports coupe market.

  • @V8Supercar1 Once a name is sullied it takes years,if ever,to regain its cachet.I doubt Caddy will regain true New Standard of the World leadership position with cars that offer unusable performance and froo-froo electronic gadgets. All I can ask is drive a well-kept Sixties through Seventies Cad for a revelation on how delightful a true American-style luxury car can be.You can't imagine the driving feel of the magnificent 1967-70 Eldorado. It'll be an experience you'll never forget.

  • @Mrtriumphchopper: I get what you are saying. And I understand it. But fr what ever reason, GM is tired of the Caddi brand being majority popular with people age 50 and up. They just simply want the brand to start being appealing to the younger crowd. And I wouldn't say the performance is unusable. There are plenty of road course tracks across the U.S. that you always find corvettes, mustangs and even some Porsches running laps.

  • Government Motors at its finest...

  • I really hope this car does well. Good job so far Cadillac!

  • I wish I could have seen the car.

  • But I cant buy that cadi... I get the crapy one that they sell at the dealership near my house. and the transmission turns to mush if I drive it hard.

  • This car is perfect

  • @Knightewolfe The CTS-V is an M3/M5/M6 killer, Lincoln brand is just a taxi service brand. Cadillac is the President's vehicle, not a shitty Lincoln. Why do you think Caddy's are so much more expensive than Lincolns? The Cadillac is the only good American brand.

  • please cadillac just go with the ls3!!! not a twin turbo v6 dont risk it

    !!

  • This car looks fast, what's it weigh ?

  • james may would not approve lol.

  • I like the concept, but why must all Caddys look alike? Why cant they ditch the grill? What have they got against curves, too many straight lines for my taste. That being said I hope this car does well, and if it does, please put a beautiful body on it.

  • @Bmants The angular styling is distinctive of Cadillac. BMW, Benz, and Lexus all look like each other. Cadillac is unmistakable. Watch the Japanese begin to copy Cadillac in 3...2...1

  • @Z28HAHACYA : Have you seen the new XTS? Now that is much better than what I see Cad. doing now, it has curves. Though I am not a fan of the present Cadillac designs, I would not mind a DTS, Magnetic Ride, reliable, comfortable, and affordable especially on the used car market. Best bargain on the market, if you dont mind a V8.

  • 350hp, magnetic suspension and 3400lbs... yummy! :) Dont forget, its got an AWD option too. The 2014 Camaro supposed to be sharing the same platform. It will be interesting when the next-gen 5.5l V8 makes its debut.

  • /user/SAGEGATESTUDIOS

  • @Lantho650 Cadillac should pay him.

  • Price?

  • Bring on the V!!!!!

  • I agree with James May, the RAF Bomber Command should have bombed that place when they had the chance. Handling is important but damn it so is ride comfort.

  • BMW and Mercedes had better watch out. Thats all I can say

  • @Knightewolfe This car will have better performance, better interior and build quality than any bmw or mercedes in it's class. Just like the CTS-V does.

  • @GoldmanUSA I liked Cadillac better when they only offered V8 engines.

  • UFCextra is a Cadillac warrior. He has been defending Caddies on YouTube for years. Haha. My hero.

  • 55 or 6 years ago, I would have never considered an american car. Now Cadillac and a few other automakers are making me reconsider. Cadillac has made the most progress out of all the american car companies. I'm glad they aren't just making crap and peddling it off to the masses. Kudos to you caddy for putting in the time to develop a fun car that people actually want to buy.

  • I'm only 18 but I'm saving when I get out of college I plan on buying american.

    My michigan side perhaps. lol

  • what mean and sec?

  • sounds like a low displacement turbocharged 6 cylinder....anyone agree?

  • @willneverstop I think I have to agree with you, but if it is a 6, it's a wicked 6.

  • Youtube user CARandDRIVER posted a month ago on this comment page that it's a 2.0L 4-cylinder. Obviously, it's in a developmental phase but I absolutely echo the sentiments that it should be a 6-cylinder.

  • @triplexxxsatyr yeah - a 6-cylinder twin-turbo, and for the fuel-frugal types, a 6-cylinder turbodiesel variant of at least 3 litre displacement.

  • As a european, I HONESTLY want this car to be great. I want Cadillac to step up and offer an alternative to "the holy trinity" of bmw, audi and mercedes as they are often called in europe. Those 3 brands are completely obsessed with each others cars that they end up making cars that drive very similar, feel very similar, perform very similar, only look a bit different. I want something that will offer the same quality and be polished to perfection, but I want it to be DIFFERENT.

  • And also, in order to compete with BMW 3, Audi A4 and Mercedes C class, Cadillac has to work on every detail of the car, not just performance like they did with CTS, and ignore that fact that only midgets fit in the back and the trunk is smaller than in BMW 1 series. First thing they gotta do is ditch the cheap stuff in interior...like indicator stalks and buttons from cheap 10000 euro Opel city cars...that doesn't belong in a luxury car. Work on details, every button has to be perfect.

  • @derbigpr500 have you ever been inside of a CTS?

  • @rantanamo Yes, In normal CTS as well as CTS-V. And they definitely don't have the material quality or fit and finish that is comparable with 5 series BMW or Audi A6 for example. Not even as good as 3 series or A4. CTS interior is designed nicely, it has nice lines, but it looks flashy inside, and that tricks people into thinking that its more luxurious than other cars which are designed less flashy, but in fact, it has many things inside taken from very cheap GM cars, buttons are fiddly, etc

  • @derbigpr500 the CTS is also half the price of its German competitors....sometimes fooling someone into luxury is better than making them pay for it, and i think Cadillac sales reflect that.

  • @rantanamo I think that many people who think CTS has a great interior are simply not familiar with how a REALLY great interior is made. I can understand that americans find the CTS revolutionary, since its on another level compared to any american car in the last 15 years, but its still not at the levels of german cars. Its still not a premium car. Cadillac cracked the performance part, now they need to combine that performance with comfort, add better build quality, attention to detail...

  • Looks really really nice. Finally a car from America that will be a worthy competitor for BMW 3, Audi A4 and Mercedes C class.

  • yes

  • did he said 28 09 at the last??

  • It's an all new turbo 4 cylinder. Should make around 280 hp. It'll kick the snot out of 328's and A4 2.0's.

  • @voxveho And don't assume that just because Cadillac will make a decent small saloon car for the first time that it will immedietly be better than cars that have been setting the segment standards for the last 20-30 years. It would take a lot of work for Cadillac to polish up the first generation of ATS to the levels at which 3 series or A4 are right now. Of course, the fact that they don't have to develop any new technology, but simply copy from others makes it easier to develop a good car.

  • i anticipate a raise in December, and will definitely be putting it towards the new ATS

  • Comment removed

  • @UFCextra

It has a V6 option. The 2.0T (not twin turbo) is standard. LFX (3.6L) is confirmed for it. At 0:19 to 0:23, that's clearly a V6, which is most likely the LFX.

  • "we choose to test on the nurbering"

OH REALLY? you and idk.....every OTHER company does the same thing

this ring testing has become a marketing jimick now

I live in California, I HIGHLY DOUBT!!! HIGHLY DOUBT i'll get anywhere near these figure unless I wanna kill someone or/and end up the on the news channel showing cops chasing me

  • @flawns Well not everybody knows that but yeah i agree with you that its more so about marketing now just to be able to say "we went to the nurburgring" more than anything else but that alone doesn't make it a good car. Ferrari don't test at the ring as far as i know and their cars are plenty good. Aside from the length of the track and a few areas with sudden drops in elevation there is nothing unique about the nurburgring.

  • this car has a v6 engine.

  • Much better than your previous Escalade vs diesel C-class fail

  • Want to see good quality interior materials like in the cts-v

  • @UFCextra CTS-V doesn't really have good quality materials inside, not for the car of that segment. It has lots of fake plastic chrome, fake carbon fibre accents, fake aluminum accents, artificial leather on the dash...I'm hoping they will do better than that in ATS.

  • @derbigpr500 I feel it does, the build quality of a Cadillac is better than anything Bmw or Mercedes have to offer . You are a Euro fan boy trying to insult cars in the slightest way so you can attempt make the shitty European cars look better. Europe is such poor crap it's on the verge of collapse. No one wants that shitty BMW or Mercedes any more. They use junk materials and the European cars fall apart way too quick.

  • @UFCextra Yep, thats why adillac uses fake plastic wood in their cocpits, and bmw and mercedes use real wood. Cadillac uses fake plastic chrome and aluminum, bmw and mercedes use real chrome and aluminum. Thats why cadillac uses fake plastic leather on their dashboards to make it look like stitched leather, and bmw and merc use real high eader. Cadillac even uses buttons and indicator stalks from cheap Opels...cars that are considered crap in europe...thats really good build quality...right...

  • @derbigpr500 My family used to own European, until we realized, their cars are a waste of money and they are weaker and less powerful than the competition. They don't build good quality cars like they used to. America builds the best quality cars today while Europe is on the verge of collapsing.

  • Comment removed

  • @UFCextra Ok my friend, you've just proven that you're completely retarded and know nothing about cars.

The only good car european car is panamera turbo? Man...you must be the dumbest person i've ever had contact with. Go go get some help kid, you're probably not even old enough to have a drivers licence yet.

  • @UFCextra Cadillac CTS is the best car americans make, and overall its not even nearly as good as its direct competitors. How do american cars compare to Mercedes S class? BMW 7 series? Audi A8? How about other models from those manufacturers? How about Bentley? Rolls Royce? Maybach? Bugatti? Ferrari? Lambo? Porsche? Maserati? Jaguar? Aston Martin? Range Rover? VW? Alfa Romeo? Volvo? Come on...american car industry is literally a joke compared to european car industry...

  • @derbigpr500 I disagree , Cadillac uses real chrome and aluminum, real Sapele wood, burled walnut wood, real tuscany Italian leather seats. It does use slightly more plastic, but it's still better build quality and faster than a comparable audi, bmw or merc. Lately the European auto industry has been going down the toilet with their new cars.

  • @derbigpr500 There are 50 countries in Europe. America is just one one country. Obviously, one country isn't gonna have all those brands, yet we still have the largest economy. Nice try at comparing a continent to a country, Bozo.

  • This guy made it seem like the ats was crazy fast...hop in a cts-v ...now that is actually fast

  • Bring the Cadillac to NASCAR . The 29 team would be my pick so they could layth smackdown on other teams. It would be cool

  • The car may be superb, and I might be nit-picking here, but I don't like the name, "ATS" Unless those initials stand for something truly great, I don't see a reason why Cadillac didn't come up with an actual name for the car.

  • Cadillac will be merging the STS and DTS brands into the XTS. So yeah, I wish they were more imaginative when it comes to naming their cars.

Unfortunately, to many people, the El Dorado and Seville names conjures up not just the giant '59s but also the mafia/mob cars of the '70s and '80s when they weren't very good quality cars.

But Cadillac's been pretty emphatic that they're going in a new direction and I like that direction.

  • Ok, GM. Make sure you keep the weight of this thing under 3400 lbs. If not, don't bother making it. We don't need another porker.

  • This ATS is a 2.0L, 4 cylinder

  • Umm. Sportiest car they've done? How about the CTS-V?

  • Go Caddy Go!

Sure would love to have a CTS-V Coupe in my driveway real soon.

  • @triplexxxsatyr Rather have the wagon, myself!

  • Superb!

  • The new Dashboard design is awesome, can't wait

  • I'm 21 and I bought my own 2007 CTS... why shouldn't a 20 year old be considering buying a Cadillac any time soon? Don't make broad, generalized comments about what someone can and cannot afford based on the people around you. There are people out there that work hard, and get what they want.

  • @eliteskater08 It has nothing to do with affordability, depreciation always helps that, rather it's that the CTS while not exactly an old persons car it's not really a youth aspiration car other than the CTS-V. Offerings from BMW Audi and even Mercedes to some extent have always had a youth aspiration appeal. They're more sophisticated, better looking more sporty and just better overall. Cadillac has made great strides in revitalizing itself but they are still not there... yet.

  • @alexcheetah79 I disagree. Myself and many of my friends have been fans of Cadillac for as long as we've been fans of vehicles. I know very few people that aspire to own a car from any of the companies that you mentioned. Most of the ones that want them, have them. Besides that, you're missing the point that I was referring to earlier comments without jumping into their conversation. IT had everything to do with price.

  • @eliteskater08 really I find that hard to believe when the Cts is priced competitively against the competition though it's kind of confusing since the Cts is priced against the C class, a4/5 , 3 series etc... yet is sized to take on the 5 series a6 etc...

However this new ATS is sized specifically to take on the a4, c class, 3 series so I will a assume it will be more popular with entry level buyers, looks promising that's for sure.

  • It better be suprisingly fast, like the CTS-V...i want nothing slower than 3.7 sec. 0-60mph...and i want AWD , V8

  • @UFCextra V8 in a compact? Name me one non-high performance (eg, not s4, m3, etc) luxury car that has a V8 in it? Name me ONE? The IS, 3 series, C class, A4, and CSX all have 4 bangers or 6 cyls.

  • @roberth214

The CTS-V competes with the M3 and S4 you mentioned in both size and performance, so I would expect it to have a V8 or at least a twin-turbo V6.

  • @alep85 Ummm...CTSV is a midsize, NOT A COMPACT. It is MUCH bigger than an S4 or M3, just compare the wheelbases.. Secondly, I just SAID, high performance ones would have V8s, OBVIOUSLY. That is trivial! Thirdly, we're talking about the ATS, and the ATS would NOT have a V8...NO compact has a V8 in it other than the high performance ones, and even then, they're moving down to forced induction 6s. I love natural aspiration WAY more, but it's unreasonable for the ATSV, let alone for a REGULAR ATS.

  • @roberth214

First off, the ATS-V is the same size as an M3 or S4 (they are all COMPACT executive cars), so you're completely wrong in saying that no compact has a V8 in it because the current M3 does. The new M3 coming soon may have a turbo V6, but what makes you so sure the ATS-V will not have a N/A V8? It could have either a turbo V6 or a N/A V8, in my opinion. If BMW can fit a V8 in the M3, I see no reason why Cadillac can't with the ATS-V.

Please do you research on car sizes next time.

  • @alep85 I think what you should do is proofread your comments before you hit "Post". Read yours again, you said "The CTS-V competes with the M3 and S4", dumbfuck. Wow how'd you know the ATS competes with 3 series? Durr? A bag of rocks could have figured that one out...

You probably can't read either, because I said no compact luxury car has a V8 UNLESS IT IS THE HIGH PERFORMANCE VERSION OF IT. You suggested they need a V8 in a regular ATS, not the ATS-V. English isn't your first language is it?

  • @roberth214

Wow, you're an untactful ass. You're absolutely retarded if you don't think the CTS-V competes with both the M3/S4 and the M5. It may be about the same size as an M5 and have equal performance characteristics, but it is much closer in price to the M3/S4. Both are cross-shopped. That's what I meant when I posted that, but I'm sure your thick skull was too dense to process it. Also, this video is most likely the ATS-V, so you need to compare it to high-performance luxury sedans.

  • @alep85 No, it doesn't directly compete with them. Now you're trying to make it sound like I'm the dumbass, but we both know you're the cumsquat...point is, your skull was too dense to proofread. Typical american. And no, canadians are not friendly...don't know where you got that idea. Also, pointing out the fact that we are charged a lot in gas prices doesn't insult me in anyway, so I'm starting to think maybe you're a little challenged. Had I known that I wouldn't have been so mean to you kid.

  • @roberth214

Besides, being a 20 year-old from Canada with your outrageous vehicles taxes and gas prices, you won't be able to afford it anyways! And I thought Canadians were supposed to be friendly........

  • @roberth214

You can keep trolling, but using the kind of language you are just proves your immaturity. Kind of pathetic.

  • @alep85 welcome to the internet!

  • if the m-3 is better where is it's nuremburg record...oh yeah the caddy has it

  • bmw > cadillac

  • @blackseries99

Really? You got on here to post that? Regardless of the fact you're a fanboy and would probably never consider anything besides a BMW, a good quality competitor to your 3-series never hurts......competition breads better results from everybody!

But as for me, I like what I see, Cadillac!

  • @alep85 -- I will consider Infiniti, BMW and MB over Cadillac. Cadillac is not world class as they are saying these days.

  • @blackseries99

Then clearly you've never watched a CTS-V smoke an MB C63 AMG, an M3, and any Infiniti product (look it up, Motor Trend declared the CTS-V their favorite over an M5). While I will agree that the outgoing DTS and STS are not good, you're eliminating a worthy competitor in not considering the 2009 and later CTS and CTS-V. They're getting great marks in quality and performance, so I expect the ATS will continue this. But, all those you mentioned are great car companies.

  • @alep85 -- Feel > Numbers.. Cadillac only offers numbers.

  • @blackseries99

Yeah, but Motor Trend does not just run numbers. It's more about feel, and the Cadillac still trumps, in their opinion. Youtube won't let me post the URL, but just Youtube "Motor Trend CTS-V vs. M5" and you'll find it. They prefer the CTS-V on performance feel. That's a big compliment vs. the performance sedan standard M5.

Anyways, I wouldn't dismiss Cadillac (particularly the CTS-V) until you've ridden in a new one. They're not your grandpa's old Cadillac.

  • @alep85 --haha! comparing CTSV to a sedan that came in 2005...thats fair right.. Wait and see how F10 will rape the CTSV

  • @blackseries99

Well if you want to compare the 2012 M5 to a 2009 CTS-V, I could make the same complaint and to wait until the next model CTS-V comes out that'll spank the F10. That being said, the F10 M5 is awesome and I love it from what I've seen so far. Nothing's going to be completely fair, man. Obviously you have your (very biased) opinion. I love BMWs (especially the M3 and 335i), Audis, and Cadillacs, but that's not going to make me think everything else is crap.

  • @alep85 --btw m3 is a better drivers car than powerful CTS V coupe.

  • @blackseries99

You've got your opinion, and many would agree and disagree with you. It's like an a**hole, everyone's got one.

  • @alep85 -- Well C&D agrees with me.

  • @blackseries99

Well, Motor Trend doesn't, so there you go, two opinions and two different results. And Motor Trend's comparison was with the M5, which is a more appropriate comparison size-wise since the M3 is much smaller than the CTS-V.

Plus, C&D is known to be biased to BMW's. But believe whatever you want, I don't care. I'll enjoy both brands. They're both putting out good stuff.

  • @blackseries99 You're 20 years old. You won't be considering any of these cars anytime soon. ;-P

  • @jsteiger2228 - I dont play with toy trains anymore. ;)

  • First comment!!! I swear I'm going to buy one of these....
