@eveliofazewife Yes some 50 year old geezers????? You must be also past your sell by date too! To be honest a band can never recapture the greatness of their youth. I loved the band when I too was young...but hey that was just a passing fancy..though I still yearn for those care-free days......oh to the folly and recklessness of youth!
How weird is that - just from listening to the song I imagined it being played on a Gretch White Falcon...and here he is playing it on the afore mentioned guitar.
This is the song I often need when I've been without any Cult for a day and am getting twitchy.... would kill for a bootleg with this on. But Ian looks so sweet, pink flower on jacket, it's hard to believe his notorious hotel and instrument-smashing habits.
I saw this band in '87 opening for billy idol on their electric tour. They performed in southern wisconsin and i'd never heard of em before. Hardly anybody sat in the stands or paid attention to them and they got pissed off.
IAN KOK ZALUBLENA V TVOJO INDIJANSKO GRIVO K JO Z ENE STRANI VRŽŠ NA DRUGO PA PADE K SLAP...HERE COMES THE RAIN..HERE SHE COMES AGAIN.I LOV THE RAIN,,,IF YO KNOW WHAT I DO THINK...GRRRRR
Finally getting a thunderstorm here in Mid-Michigan... And I thought of this song, and wallah! Here you go folks. In an embarrassing moment of self effacement, I will openly admit that I wanted to be like Ian Atsbury for a while (late college, and early years living in Chicago). I got the hair and the partying correct, but couldn't seem to really want to be a rock star! Fortunately, I didn't get all fat and stupid like Ian in his later years!
Ian's voice was so crsip back then, haunting even. He's still amazing with his raspy-rock style, but damn he was smooth on the mic in those days! I remember some bootleg Love concert recording making the rounds in the mid 80's, made me fall in love with the band, and they sounded just like this!
I just saw them 2 days ago and I agree completely! They rock as hard as ever!!! I met and got some pictures with Ian and also John Tempesta...one of the best nights of my life! LOVE THE CULT!!!
Awesome!!!! This is The Cult at their most unique! The "Dreamtime-Love" period is without a doubt their greatest one...artistically, at least...commercial success is a whole different story...
ian astbury is proof that if you can sing your ass off. you dont need effects to make you sound tollerable. ;)/

Whoever inserted the term "High Quality Video" in this video's title line needs to have their eyes checked. Great song nonetheless.

Before Ian Astbury was in the Cult he was in an obscure 60's band named the Doors. They would famously reunite in the year 2000.

Anyone know what year this is, (early 85 or 84)? They changed their look dramatically within the next two or so years. At least by 1988.

Class. I've never seen this before.
They were the band that brought rock to me in 1987 with Electric. But this era brought me the dark goth rock.
This band are my adolescence more than any other.

Ian Astbury = multi talented musician / vocalist whos career spanned over 30 years

Mine is 83rd Dream. Anyway, early Cult was awesome, then something bad happened, after the AC/DC-style good album in the 90s.

Was at this down the front of stage tho there wouldn't be more than about 80 people there.
Was filmed at Carlisle television centre.
They positioned cameras to make it look busy.
Had some good bands there for the Bliss programme.
