  • Julian wrote this all by himself...I Love it.

  • My absolute favorite song from the CD, 2nd would be Under Cover of Darkness

  • This song is heaven.

  • the beginning sounds a little bit like bossa nova

  • The ONE drum hiccup around 2:59 made me just a little sad :( but damn can they play!

  • best strokes song i've heard since this is it

    artist:sessil

    title: airy lights

  • My favourite song on the album. Beautiful,

  • came here from luke... but i love "The Strokes" more than "The Kooks"

    JULIAN & LUKE RULES ;)

  • Ah I never really bothered to see the lyrics... But they're WAY good!

  • Sounds like everlong

  • I've never heard anyone rock one note repeatedly the way Albert does in the second verse...awesome song

  • Love the part when he goes "Don't try to stop us!" :)

  • 8 people find everything complicated, even the moonlight.

  • @fhcumpire fuk off

  • @strokesn1g I have just seen that all of the comments that you post on youtube are vulgar and/or hateful. If you are so angry perhaps you should seek some professional help, either a shrink or a hooker should do. But you should really grow up and stop spewing hate, it will only come back to burn you in the end.

  • @fhcumpire swag

  • @fhcumpire advice on youtube is meaningless

  • came here from lukes twitter ))))))))) good song <3

  • Thankyou so much for the link!!!1

  • Summer

  • haha i can't believe luke from the kooks actually watched my vid (even though it's just a song)

  • @PhobiaUtopia the kooks are horrible compared to the Arctic Monkeys,Alex turner kicks luke's ass but it's still a good achievement buddy.

  • @PhobiaUtopia How do you know?

  • This gave me a eargasm and made me cry @the same time. Strokes r boss

  • @FranklinFalcons999 a comment like this could only come from a kid. shouldn't you be in school or something?

  • luke from the kooks brought me here lol

  • @GstavoDiaz wait, how did that happened?

  • @GstavoDiaz i hate luke and the kooks. he's such an arragant douchebag.

  • I love that in all if their songs they've got guitar solos instead of bridges, it's awesome.

  • One of my favorite songs from my absolute favorite band <3

  • Amazingly beautiful and mysterious. Best song on the album by far!

  • my fave american garage band!! glad they've gone bk to their roots with this album...u guys shld check out my video response that i made...its a song using albert hammond jr's "spooky couch" abt an unrequited love...hopefully u guys will love it as much life is simple in the moonlight and help it get as many hits!!! :D

  • funny this is the rough version, julian's voice is cosmically out of tune!

  • Best song of this album

  • 7 People just don't know how simple life is in The Moonlight.

  • @KotOREffecT Herpa derp derp

  • the end is the best

  • Muy buena rola :DDDD

  • wow. need I say more?

  • strokes bossa

  • Follow the link in the description to see who wrote what on Angles.

  • @milpool311 i heard it was one producer that wrote that :(

the sad thing of this cd is that Julian didn't write any of this ... so it doesn't have a lot of feeling i guess

  • Oh, and for the record, people, Fabrizio didn't write this. Julian did. Just so you know...

  • I'm in love with this song. It has that Brazilian sound to it So beautiful!

  • @milpool311 Julian. But it does sound like something Fab would write

  • Its just sounds like background music

    ehh

  • “I think it's sort of a scary thing you don't really want to face. I definitely feel like we had to do something special (with the new record) or people potentially really wouldn't care about us.” -Julian Casablancas

  • pretty nice!!

  • I LOVE THE STROKES

    I LOVE THIS ALBUM

    I LOVE THIS SONG

    & I LOVE JULIAN CASABLANCAS!♥

  • @annitabanana1 who doesnt! :)

  • @marz995 5 persons !! D:

  • @annitabanana1 ha ha yeah, well they just dont know good music when they hear it(i bet if one of the ppl that thumbed it down took a good look at julian casalancas they would change their minds!!)

  • @marz995 5 persons !!! D:

  • i love the stokes but this album isnt that great

  • every time i listen, i fall into a comatose state.

    i love this song.

  • It sounds better than in the album.

  • love this album! if you listen to it more thene once, you will too!

  • THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE AUDIENCE

  • @ysgaisyih lol i forgive them

  • This is my favorite song...

  • I'm a serious Strokes fan, when I heard Angles, I felt sketchy. Like this album wasn't so good. But I didn't lose faith. Kept listening. Now I think this album is Fuckin' Awesome!! :D

  • @mexijoe10

Dude, you didn't lose faith after First Impressions.... well done !

Their first 2 albums are utter genius and I still listen to them regularly.

First Impressions.... however starts well then it just sounds like its developed a nasty heroin habit and becomes almost unlistenable IMO.

The new album is alright, it grows on you but I just wish they recorded more "rock n roll" like the first 2 albums

  • @thefinalword1980 I have a tendency to like anything from the Strokes, bad or not. lol

  • soo Good

  • I <3 this song so much!!!:)

  • This track is so mellow... I love it. Even the loud parts are mellow. It makes you melt sort of. Lol. It may be just me, but this track seems to flow so well out of the previous two. It's like the style doesn't really change, but it's like a new chapter of a good story. <3 My top 3rd favorite band.

  • I like this SNL version more than the one on the record.

  • This is my Faborito

  • this song is beautiful.

  • Why do some of the comments for this song (on other videos) say it's fake?

  • and nope it doesn`t lack energy in comparison, they had a balance. of course their fast paced, energetic songs were good but they had songs like this too! one of my fav songs is Clear Skies ... and it`s pretty slow! written by Fab too, I believe!

this has to be my fav on the new album :D

  • @boredomisnevergood Yeah Clear Skies is amazing, they should have but it on Room On Fire, I think they wrote it before that

  • @boredomisnevergood a drummer writing a song thats good holy shit

  • this sounds like The Strokes I know & love....I`ll pretend I never heard Youre So Right.. :p

  • best strokes song = ask me anything

  • This song is PURE PERFECTION! My favorite song from Angles.

  • I feel a lil of brazilian bossa nova on this song.

  • Thanks everyone for over 60k

  • Best song on Angles

  • is it the way the tiles arent straight on the floor that makes the album cover work?

  • in my opinion, this album reflect how they're doing in their personal lives, each one of them. they're not crazy, and irresponsible teens. now they're grown settle down men, and some of them have kids. No more drinking problems or drug addiction.

this album is much slower. Personally, I wouldnt say lacking of energy, but rather carrying a new energy.

  • this song is my new drug :)

  • i love this song (enough said)

  • This song gives me a high just listening to it.

  • i like the new album

  • best song ever

  • All of the band wrote and co wrote songs on this album. I know Julian wrote this cause it's reminiscent of older albums. I think the album sounds disjointed because he wrote the majority of, if not all, of the first 3

  • so fucking good

  • its radiohead right?.. nice song btw.

  • BUY YOU'RE MUSIC AND SUPPORT THE ARTIST! THERES NO POINT IN SAYING YOU LOVE THEIR MUSIC IF YOU JUST STEAL IT FROM THEM!

  • the whole album is very political. It sounds different, and different is a good thing when originality is lacking in the world. Despite of the synthesis they have managed to form a new sound around the same strokes taste. I think its in the drums. Listen closely you'll hear it.

  • this is the saturday night live version

  • Is it just me or is this album lacking the energy that there other ones had

  • @CreepInRainbows I wouldn't put Games and Call Me Back together. They're both slower songs, and it kind of takes away. Also, the musical styles vary on this much more, so maybe the lack of cohesiveness affects the energy. Still a great album though (to me).

  • @PhobiaUtopia

Yeah, I think that's really it. With Is this It, the one everyone's going to instantly compare everything they make from now on to, you had one solid, tied-together sound unifying the album. They're clearly trying to experiment more with Angles, and while they get more hits than misses for me, the lack of that cohesion (good word) really keeps me from wanting to just play the album end-to-end like. That's not strictly a bad thing, but it is a somewhat jarring change of pace.

  • @PhobiaUtopia I agree, but CreepinRainbows if you really want to see energy, look at The Strokes live performance on David Letterman...Taken for a Fool..I haven't seen that much energy from Julian in a long time! :D

  • @PhobiaUtopia Games and Call Me Back are an amazing lead in to Gratisfaction. Take Metabolism off the album, and the album is perfect in my opinion. Very good effort.

  • this song is so dope i dont doubt any other the other songs n_n

  • @CreepInRainbows It's probably just you. "get out of the way"

  • @CreepInRainbows

Have you not heard Machu pichu or taken for a fool??

  • @CreepInRainbows GO HOME HATER

  • @CreepInRainbows I thought so also. While the energy isn't the same, it's there. Took me a few times through the album, but it's worth it. Bloody brilliant.

  • @CreepInRainbows A lot of Strokes songs were really slow, Is This It is pretty slow too. Besides, theres like 5 songs that are really really fast, so it balances.

  • @CreepInRainbows five years on pal

  • @CreepInRainbows No, can't you hear the chorus effect in background of this song?

  • Its funny how people find any fucking reason to talk shit to each other. Shut the fuck up and enjoy the goddamn song!

  • @Ryanhallinger84 no you shut up! lol

  • Just listened to this song on album and I like it better on SNL!!!

  • best song love nicks solo

  • Check my cover please?

  • I UPDATED LYRICS. GOT EM DIRECTLY FROM JULIANS WEBSITE.

  • this song is talking about a girl, right?

  • Best song of this album no doubt about it

  • julian sounds a million times better when he uses his real voice unstead of editing junk. you shouldnt try to change a voice that perfect...

  • @wishondandilions i agree

  • Why would you advertise to go and download the album when its just been released!

If people keep downloading its going to finally make an end to CDS!

For the sake of the artists keep buying their albums!

    Thumbs up if you agree!

  • @AndrewDaleRichards it's not the whole album, just this song. chill out man

and I bought the album anyways, not on itunes, but the actual cd. I love The Strokes too much to not buy Angles

  • @AndrewDaleRichards downloading doesn't hurt anyone except the record companies, who are probably some of the greediest people on this earth, so...

  • @stellarcircle9 Yes however these record companies will be paying the artists on terms of sales & also the royalties they make out of selling their records.

Of course it's ridiculous the percentage the record companies get but if people suddenly stopped buying cd's, then the artists is out of pocket.

If you were selling a product wouldn't you want them to buy your 'product' rather then downloading it or getting it for free?

  • I've noticed 'where, like Nanbu, I don't go down well' cropping up on all the lyrics sites. Pretty sure it's 'where lightning blue eyes, don't go down well'

  • totes magotes like it.

  • julian's voice isn't exactly spot-on with the album version either...so it's not a huge loss. personally I prefer this infintely to the album version, especially that gorgeous solo. i wish the video was still up so I could see nick play it again. :-D

but it's too bad we can't get it without miley cyrus's voice...

  • This is awesome... but Julian sounds out of tune for some reason? Atleast in the beginning and he kinda doesn't give it enough. And im kinda down about he not using his "growly" voice anymore :S

  • It looks like a bossa nova!

  • Sounds to much like evening sun almost the same actually c'mon really we have waited four years for this shit

  • I prefer this to the album version...

  • @hudsonmarco I like the solo on this better than the one on the studio version. The solo on this is more emotional and it's not as rushed as the studio version.

  • @PhobiaUtopia the solo on the studio version sounds like the overdrive is turned off

  • @cacam01 yeah probably was turned off

  • @viewtifuljoe99

First it wasn't a complaint, it was testament to the Strokes' ability as a band to sound so good live and I have been listening to the recorded version on their website..

  • there's two kind of happiness as life is simple in the moonlight under cover of darkness

  • who still think the strokes best record lies in the future? i do

  • This Song Is So Relaxing To Me :)

  • worst strokes album to date, a step down from the other 3 classics.

this is definitley the best song on it though, pure class................

  • Tom stronger is a phony on his vids

  • @imsocoo213 Yeah I know, First he said the SNL performance of this song was the studio version, then he said the Making Of Angles video was a making of Machu Picchu video. LOL.

  • 1 person has it complicated under the moonlight

  • sexy guitar solo???

    kkkk

  • my birthday 19 maybe i can get early album

  • what is the name of this album?

  • @pureblonde215 the album is called "Angles"

  • @pureblonde215 angles

  • The album is awesome, a close second to Is This It. My favorite songs are this one, Two Kinds of Happiness, Call Me Back, and Metabolism.

  • @avsky123 Yeah I'd put this as my third favorite, Room on Fire is better imo. But it's still really good, and something that I'll be listening to for a while. My favorites are Machu Picchu, Games, Taken For A Fool, Gratisfaction, and this.

  • i love this song and the strokes so much! thank you so much for posting this! oh, and i think on the lyrics "As i watched the bell with drapes appear" is "As i watched the VELVET drapes appear" im not sure, but thats what it sounds like to me and a few of my friends i've asked. anyways, thank you so much!

  • @hAzElRoSe5443 yeah thanks I listened to it closely and it does sound like velvet drapes

  • best song of the album

  • March 22 baby!! :DD

  • Iv listened to this song like 30 times in a fuckin row, no joke hahahaha
