  • Fantastic tutorial... learned a lot from it... been learning this program for two days now because i need it for work... thank so much for lending me a hand in learning this stuff... :) thumbs up for you... :)

  • Please help me ! The axis in 3d studio disappeared !!! The sun appears always as at sunset !!! Cause has 0 degree !!! :(

  • @TheBMW320cabrio I cannot moving nothing !!!

  • Thanx !!! :D

  • but how do u use hdri to put clouds in? awesome tutorial by the way...

  • thx helped me alot

  • Great tutorial.

  • the Shadow bias works the other way for me:)

If i put in low number (like in the Tutorial) the shadows goes far and if i put in bigger number (7-8) the shadows are close to the object :)

    am i doing something wrong?:D

  • Your site is an attack site says Firefox.

  • @Jarzka1990 yes, the site is not mine anymore and i already recommend on the video descrption not to watch it

  • Thanks, but when I want to render clouds (volume fog used), there are so bright white and I can't see them. Is there a way to make them "visible"? Also, I'm searching for good tutorial about creating clouds.. :[

  • @hristousa if you want nice clouds, you better go for a HDRI

  • russellmac try to use it eith vray cam with 500 or 1000 film speed

  • aaaaaaaaw THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! :D your tutorial is the only one that works for me! xD I had to do some changes because I have 3d max 2010! but aaa thank you so much! you should do more totorials! :)

  • vraysun is not ment to work together with a standart max camera. Turning the sun's intensity value down to 0.0xxx is like creating a smart workaround around the advantages of the vray skylight system. ;-)

Use a vray physical cam instead, leave the sun's intensity value where it is at 1.0 and adjust the film speed/shutter speed of the vray physical cam from 200 down to e.g. 30, or something in the range.

  • i have a problem....whatever i render comes in bright white.....from any angle.....help plz....is there a way to reduce intensity??...im using 3ds max9 and vray

  • in the tutorial i explain that u must set the intensity to very low levels in the vray sun parameters, something like 0.02

  • @pmaterazzi if you use vray cameras you can adjust the intensity of the ISO and the speed of the shooter... among a lot of things that will allow you to play even more with those values without reducing them so much ;-)

  • @conodelamadreputa yes u are right, but by the time i did the video i didnt know that :D

  • @russellmasc check the color brightness or verify the application of the material on the subject and also the field of specular color.

  • oh man.. my 3dmax 2009 has no vray plug in..could you help me for that..tnx

  • @symon316 officially u should buy the software.. i cannot help with that, but i guess u can sort this situation looking around the internet

  • awesome work man, answered a lot of questions i had about the vray sun while keeping it simple. now my outdoor scene looks so much better when i actually have an understanding of what the different settings do.

  • the result is very nice but why is it evreytime i try to use vray physical camera, the result always turns out to be alot darker?have you ever try it?do you know why?

  • Comment removed

  • what settings do you use on the vray renderer? is it by default?

  • not default, send me a private message with what exact settings u want and ill write u back

  • vray 1.5RC3 and 3ds max 9

  • hmmm did u set the indirect illumination on - inside the vray panel with Irradiance Map/Light Cache and all the rest of the vray panel as default? if this doesnt work send me ur messenger by a private message i will add u and we can sort it somehow

  • yeah !it was coloured if i will render it w/ vray light

but if in vray sun light it will be just black and white color.

  • whats ur version of vray and 3d software?

  • i mean ,if u rendered it the output will be just black and white color.

  • help me !it goes to black and white when u r rendering it!

  • black n white? never had such problem...very strange

  • I am having the same problem as

    Protech14, everything turns white.

I am using Rhino as 3d modeling, and rendering with vray.

I figured it out that it was the physical camera that was making things blasted white.

    Could u help me?

  • write me ur messenger address and we can talk about it, are u using a vray camera as well?

  • i dont gett it, my settings are exacly the same as yours but i get a Blasted scene, withevery thing turning white like if it was an atomic explosion

  • write me ur msn or skype and i help you

  • why you don,t use sketchup`?

  • u can use, theres vray for sketch up, but for modelling and texturing 3dsmax normally is much superior

  • hahahahahahahahahaha sketchup!! whahahahahaha... Use the real software like 3DSmax, Maya, Zbrush etc.. etc.

  • nice job dude.
