  • @cinnamoncats22 The name would suggest the father's side.

  • The weirdest #1 ever. But Mitch Miller knew what he was doing.

  • @buttmauler1234

Sorry to tell you George told me years ago this was his Aunt, not sure if it on his mothers or fathers side. But he did stay with her while he was in school.

  • Having grown up in the time of Rosemary Clooney--love her--the dirty minds--and actions so prevalent today, were not the stuff of "pop culture." Suggestive, yes, but the overt crap of today, nope.

  • I listened to this when it came out. Then came Elvis;all bets were off.great song.

  • Thumbs up John

    Cheyenne

  • @buttmauler1234 No, she's George's aunt.

  • Well.... I do like houses. :]

  • Come On A My House hit #1 in the U.S. charts in 1951.

  • Playboy <3

  • What year is this song from?

  • @19bogabothu14 It was released on her LP by the same name on June 6, 1951.

  • @John1948Eleven32 It makes sense. Almost all the songs from the 50's are good.

  • @19bogabothu14

  • This song... tsk tsk tsk... I love it!

  • this is not a kid napper song its about a boy she wants to come over that she likes

  • @MrsDestinyluvsyew Exactly.BD is just trolling.

  • @John1948Eleven32 Yo, I aint be trollin. The first thing you learn when your a kid is not to take candy from a stranger and DEFFINETLY not to go to their house.

  • This is the kidnapper song.

  • She hated the song full stop. She only recorded it because her manager threatened to fire her.

  • the 1951 hit song Come on a My House, originally recorded (reluctantly) by Rosemary Clooney. Composed by two famous Armenian-Americans, Ross Bagdasarian (who would later create the children's favorite Alvin and the Chipmunks under his David Seville stagename) and his cousin, William Saroyan. It was Saroyan's one and only effort at popular songwriting for an off-Broadway musical titled The Son.

  • What a voice - smooth and sexy with a message that everyone likes to hear! I love candy!

  • The love of my life.............

  • MARONE A MI I FEEL OLD WHEN I HEAR THIS..I WAS 5 YEARS OLD WHEN THIS CAME OUT 5???...NUFF SAID...CIAOXX

  • George's mom

  • @jimhazelwood No, she's his aunt.

  • @jimhazelwood her aunt, not her mom

  • Sadly, she hated singing this.

  • @jaguarjaguarjaguarja She didn't mind singing this song ONCE (in the studio), but she HATED performing this song over and over on TV...

  • @shmuli9 oh, I thought Nick said that she hated singing Mambo Italiano....in the PBS special "Moments to Remember".

  • @MichelleWritesSings It MIGHT have been, but I think it was "Come-on a My House"...

  • @jaguarjaguarjaguarja

a lot of artists do end up hating the songs that end up becoming their big hits, especially if they have their own ideas about what their better songs are. but then they are forced to save their (personally) less-liked songs for their big finishes as that's what the crowd wants

  • William Saroyan and his cousin Ross Bagdasarian ( who also created the Singing Chipmunks) wrote the words for this old Armenian folk song.

  • William Saroyan wrote this song

  • She's so elegant!!

  • Oh do I remember this one!! Woo Hoo!! Fun fun fun!! LOL Thx 4 posting this...Phyllis....

  • Rosemary Clooney was quite dishy back in the day.
