  • I really liked the couch trick lol my dog's favourite trick is "outside"

  • Thats awesome.

  • nice :)

  • wooow. you guys have that down to a science. my vizsla is too stubborn to obey that well.

  • FUNNY,My father trained me the same way.

  • great training! i am going to buy a vizsla soon and this is the kind of stuff im hoping to do!

  • @ maryann

I have a 4 year old Vizsla. I trained him with very little effort to shake, sit, lie down, and play dead. He loves to do his tricks and potty trained easily as well.

  • Did you find the Viszla was more or less stubborn than other dog breeds to train?

  • @maryannmvu They are great to train as long as they are hungry.

  • @maryannmvu No Vizsla is always want to please every one!!! They are the best friends!

  • Amazing dog you have there mate.

Iam sure you get asked all the time but how do you train him to such a high standard?

    The couch trick for instance.

How would you train him to do that?

What do you think about using clickers?

    Thanks

  • Oh, I put his poop bag dispenser on his collar for the video because I thought it was funny.

  • It's got his name and my contact info on the collar. His name is Kepler. Named after the astronomer Johanes Kepler. He's spoiled, can do almost anything he wants, but there are rules that he can not break. If he goes into the street without a person he gets the SEVERELY punished. Only happened 2 times. Important as I never use a collar with him, just verbal commands. If you throw a ball for him, and it goes into the street, he stops at the curb. Same with chasing birds.

  • @thethereza How did you train Kepler to avoid streets without a person with him? Seems like that would take a lot of discipline.

  • @ciroccostones It's all about signal to noise, as I said in my earlier message. Just make sure he realizes that it's beyond wrong to enter the street without me. It also helps to have a smart dog capable of comprehending. You also reinforce it by playing with him on the sidewalk and occasionally throwing the toy in the street - then rewarding him for not going after it.

  • @thethereza Yeah, I'm going to be looking at a vizsla next week, and might have the chance to train a dog for my dad in the future; I never thought about training them to stay away from the street, that's handy, at least when you're with them. Anyway, another question if I may, just out of curiosity: how long did you work on this with your vizsla until he understood it?

  • @ciroccostone puppy school, then a couple private lessons which helped me a lot and lots of patience and consistency - which is what i see lacking in all the others at the park. dunno how long it took, but vizslas are fast to learn as long as your consistent.

  • What makes Vizslas so cute?

  • thats a vizsla staring at food right there!!

  • Standard Vizsla fare, but good stuff. These are truly exceptional dogs.

  • He's hyper! But he seems to enjoy practicing his basic obedience, so that's nice. :)

  • great training! what's on his collar?

  • hey give the dog a treat at least ! LoL :))

  • impressive

  • What is that on his collar?
