@orkkilla5589 Unless you have an original PS3 that supports playback feature with PS2 games. The only good Armored Core game that I would recomend is Armored Core For Answer; that is until Armored Core 5 comes out.
Anyone else piss off the AI after 200 wins in the FFA arena mode?
By pissed off AI... I mean instead of 1v1v1v1 it turned into a 3v1 after 200 wins. That shit tore through All of my creations. Then CBT-FLEET StickMan Dual-MG AC was born. All 3 unleashed everything at once to the point where the game went slo-mo from all shit on the screen. I did what that Blue AC did to dodge those missiles except on steroids. Someone please confirm this 200 win pissed off AI thing if you have done it.
@Invisty If games were simulators no one would play them. And how do you know what the physics are of a XX-meter tall mech generating X lbs of thrust @ 450 tons? The problem with AC is that they tried to make it into a simulator (seen in Nexus: massive over heating problems)... That pretty much destroyed the series... then they tried to bounce back with NEXTs that can't overheat and have near limitless energy. And the enemies are boring. So is the story.

No you FAIL you can clearly see that the crest midwight is getting shot. There is even the energy weapon shot sound. To support my claim even more pause at 2:07 you can see that the crest is looking for the mirage. Then suddenly it drops pointing his gun a the crest. Back out of the HUD you hear the familier sound of most energy rifels. Pause at 2:09 and you can see that the crest is being shot in the core with a little explosion.
The ONLY thing shown in this video that you couldn't do was destroy specific parts of an AC, but that was added in one of the expansion packs for this game. All the over-the-top stuff you see here is pretty much required in order to get through the arena matches.

I just randomly got hit by the need to listen to the intro song for armored core 3 and wow nostalgia hit me like a trick when I watched this. I need to go dig this game out of my PS2 games and replay it for the 50th time, lol.
The only thing I don't like in this intro, was that it gave my hopes up for the new inside weapon function(I was only playing the original AC before this so there was a lot of new things I hadn't seen before in AC). When the crest light fires the inside missiles that don't even exist in the game, and they never did make an inside missile set for any of the subsequent PS2 AC games (I don't know what it's like for AC4)
I love Armored Core: For Answer but From Software really need to go back to the old gameplay that was in AC3 and previous AC games. The AC's are jumping around all over the place like frogs in FA and it doesn't feel like the AC games of old to me. They need to improve the graphics a bit as well as they've really fallen behind. Armored Core 3 had great gameplay, music, graphics and a menu that wasn't terrible.
@RamboStu I agree, i liked the more militaristic look of the older AC's. I enjoyed AC4, but ACFA just kinda ruined it(tho co-op was good, but flawed) and it turned the game into a "I can fly higher, faster, and longer" game. And honestly, I wouldnt at all be disapointed if they spent less time on the intro look, and more time on in-game graphics lol
The large red AC in the video with the OE function, I made him in the game (and every other AC game from there and after) and it is actually VERY effective. It is an awesome AC for duels and with it, I taken out both South Nail and Rim Fire in AC: Last Raven.
If you look closely, you can tell the 2 armored cores that win the battle might actually be newbies. One thing i will never forget in the AC series was back in AC1, where you had Hustler One / 9-Ball and you were in the last level going in deeper... And coming to find out that the "girl" that always would tell you your missions was really a super computer that was female/male in one. And was the controller of 9-Ball himself! And I love when they came out with the EO function, a great addtion!

One of the best AC games ever. Personally I prefer ACFA but AC3 is a close 2nd. Too bad I didn't get to play Last Raven as Ninebreaker turned me off the games for awhile.
That's odd, the poor handling and slowness of AC's in AC4/fA, along with the jumpyness of the quick boost system and the requirement of it to do any sort of dodging what so ever makes those crap AC games in my opinion. They also suffer from a horrible lack of parts and a shitty emblem creation system.
AC3 was the best, it's a shame it never had the dual-stick scheme. I grew up with the classic one-analog setup, but I immediately fell in love with the dual analog in Nexus. Also, what about AC3's music? the soundtrack in this game is incredible, but after this game Armored Core's music went to shit until For Answer.
I've always loved armored core and imo it has the potential of being one of the best games out there, but the newest ac games for next gen consoles are not next gen games. The game is just a re-hash of the ps1 version with better technical performance, but the PHYSICS of the game has barely changed, its so upsetting. It would be cool if all of the armored core games had like a feature were like in gundam vs zeta gundam when your armor points run low and get hit and you almost die but you select a power up recovery and you loose a part like a head, arm, or leg damage but you gain some armor points back that would be cool, it happens in last raven but only when that part is hit, but you have to buy the broken part again and this is only in last raven which sucks

You just gotta know that the red light is a cocky show off ace (he does crazy stunts but they did do quite a bit of damage) and the big red is an overconfident superiority complex jerk who underestimated the light he fought haha. I like Mirage, but they really need to work on who they send to fight Crest. The ace just wasn't in the right situation XD.

@MrRipchop Their technique my man, their techniques. The big red didn't even move a single step, and let the little guy pummel him before blasting the head off. That shows he's an overconfident jerk who likes to play with prey. Light red had an obviously explosive entrance and fancy moves, he thinks he's top of the world or something. You need to open your eyes a bit more, and then you'd find things to be a bit more entertaining, or silly!

My only real gripe with AC3 was the fact that if you built just the right AC and put an MG on it, you could totally RAPE the competition without really trying. Mind you, the same really applies for any of the AC titles (with NX and NB being possible exceptions.)
I like both boost methods used in the ac3 series and 4 series, but I think they may go back to the older system for ac5 due to network issues in 4 and 4a, still armored core is one of the best game series out there.

It's not that bad, if anything it adds to the realism. I remember I used to make medium classed AC's and got my cooling down so good I could overboost without risk of overheating, the only limit was my EN. Flamethrowers were still a bitch though, that guy in the arena who used them scared the shit out of me, my AC overheated so fast it was nuts.
I played the Gundam Wing Battle Theme starting at 0:40. Was NICE. Turned this one's volume down, of course.

Why can't the more modern of the series have epic intros like this?
Nexas was rather dark in color and the camera didn't give a good view of what was happening most of the time, besides having pathetic music.
Last Raven had an annoying hum for music, but at least it had great graphics.
Number 4 ruined it with some lame fanfair singing.
For Answer dragged on and on, most of the impressiveness was lost on how long it took to do anything.

That's odd, the poor handling and slowness of AC's in AC4/fA, along with the jumpyness of the quick boost system and the requirement of it to do any sort of dodging what so ever makes those crap AC games in my opinion. They also suffer from a horrible lack of parts and a shitty emblem creation system.

AC3 was the best, it's a shame it never had the dual-stick scheme. I grew up with the classic one-analog setup, but I immediately fell in love with the dual analog in Nexus. Also, what about AC3's music? the soundtrack in this game is incredible, but after this game Armored Core's music went to shit until For Answer.

I've always loved armored core and imo it has the potential of being one of the best games out there, but the newest ac games for next gen consoles are not next gen games. The game is just a re-hash of the ps1 version with better technical performance, but the PHYSICS of the game has barely changed, its so upsetting. I wished that one day the gameplay of AC would be as epic as its opening videos. OUTSOURCE AC to ROCKSTAR!!!

It would be cool if all of the armored core games had like a feature were like in gundam vs zeta gundam when your armor points run low and get hit and you almost die but you select a power up recovery and you loose a part like a head, arm, or leg damage but you gain some armor points back that would be cool, it happens in last raven but only when that part is hit, but you have to buy the broken part again and this is only in last raven which sucks

Brings back memories. You just gotta know that the red light is a cocky show off ace (he does crazy stunts but they did do quite a bit of damage) and the big red is an overconfident superiority complex jerk who underestimated the light he fought haha. I like Mirage, but they really need to work on who they send to fight Crest. The ace just wasn't in the right situation XD.

@MrRipchop Their technique my man, their techniques. The big red didn't even move a single step, and let the little guy pummel him before blasting the head off. That shows he's an overconfident jerk who likes to play with prey. Light red had an obviously explosive entrance and fancy moves, he thinks he's top of the world or something. You need to open your eyes a bit more, and then you'd find things to be a bit more entertaining, or silly!

@IamVendetta95 Hehe, my Last Raven mech is a crest machine gunner... but when it fails (due to MG nerfing sort of) I resort to my rifle Mirage mech. Hey, it killed every AC my Machine gunner couldn't so why not eh?

My only real gripe with AC3 was the fact that if you built just the right AC and put an MG on it, you could totally RAPE the competition without really trying. Mind you, the same really applies for any of the AC titles (with NX and NB being possible exceptions.)

I like both boost methods used in the ac3 series and 4 series, but I think they may go back to the older system for ac5 due to network issues in 4 and 4a, still armored core is one of the best game series out there.

It's not that bad, if anything it adds to the realism. I remember I used to make medium classed AC's and got my cooling down so good I could overboost without risk of overheating, the only limit was my EN. Flamethrowers were still a bitch though, that guy in the arena who used them scared the shit out of me, my AC overheated so fast it was nuts.
