Great clip, anyone who watches will probably realise how much it meant to us supporters to win that flag after countless years of ups and downs (mainly downs) I was there with my dad who is a life long swan, it was equal to being at the birth of my sons, with no exaggeration,Thanks again
I've watched this so many times, and cried every single one. I remember as soon as the siren went, I jumped on my dad who's about half my size and almost broke his back on the chair next to me hahaha. He cried with joy straight after the game but I couldn't, the whole thing was just so cereal - I felt mentally drained.
You know people say it's time to move on, and sometimes we need to - but no one can ever take the pure JOY we experience as soon as we come back to this.
Love this video its shows the passion and faith swans supporters have ,After the final siren i rang my uncle (swans fan for 80 yrs) to see how he felt to only find out he passed away the week b4 so now the 2005 GF is etched in my mind forever RIP Eddie
I have watched this video many times over the last couple of years. To whoever made it, you are amazing. I am a passionate Swans supporter and i still cant bring myself to re-watch the game.
i shivered 4 times.. i have watched it a number of times.. i was only 7 years old, & being at the MCG for grand final, i didnt understand how big it was. it is a moment i will never forget. CARN THE BLOODS!
Being a lifelong supporter of an underdog with a proud history, I have yet so see a better video to capture what that's like. All the pain and hope, all the snatches of defeat from the jaws of victory. All you want is for it all to have come together in one perfect moment, just once. And that you were there to see it happen.
i have seen this video soooo many times before and every time it almost brings a tear to my eye. as a passionate dogs supporter i know the pain of a premiership drought and seeing the swans fans and payers in this video make me believe that some day that the dream of finally winning another premiership may happen. great video and beautiful song well done mate you really captured what the game stands for :)
Last game of footy I got to watch with my grandfather before he died - a Bloods fan for over thirty years. Seeing Leo take that mark...epic, epic moment.
My dad's side of the family have always been bloods fans, so as a baby girl i was born into being a swans supporter. I was born in june 1996 and was there at the MCG 2 or so months old. Through the years i have never lost faith in the Swannies, even though my mum and my sister often 'change' teams whenever the Swannies have a not so good years. Swans forever! Both me and my dad were in tears hugging every other bloods supporter in the crowd around us. BLOODS FOREVER!
The Finest and most well cultured team won the greatest game on the planet. GO SWANS THE BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD PLAYING THE GREATEST GAME IN THE WORLD
I've watched this video a lot of times but never commented. I'm an Eagles fan so the pain of this game and seeing Leo rise up above the pack never ceases, but i'm a passionate lover of of great game that is AFL in general. I have the utmost respect for the Sydney FC and what Paul Roos did at that club. This video has got to be one of the most feel good AFL videos on youtube
After both Grand Finals what got me was the attitude of the crowd. Not one problem at all. After the game in 2005 I saw Eagles fans stay and clap the Swan’s players as they were presented their medallions so after 2006 I made sure I did the same for the Eagles.
@ozzmanzz Its a great video. Great music too. Have you thought of re-doing it with HD footage though - and re-posting it as a HD 720p or 1080i version? That'd be fantastic - I reckon the AFL would like a look at it at that level...
@ozzmanzz We sometimes give them (rightly) a fair bit of grief - but looking bak history will look kindly on the commentary of this game - and especially the final few moments. Really makes the film.
Best bloody win of all time. Most deserved win of all time!! Well done swanies!! This video made me cry!! Love it. <3 Sydney Swans FOREVER!! BEST TEAM OUT OF ALL THE AFL TEAMS!! :)
i was there on this day and also the night plugger kicked the point...
i get a tear everytime i watch this and i always watch if im having a shitty day.. the music is amazing and the images of Paul Kelly and those who kept us believing that the swans would oneday have their moment in history.. well done and thank you
I was living in New York at the time. 4AM on a Saturday morning we were at this aussie pub crying with unbelievable feelings of finally conquering the mountain.
We were so far away but at the time, there was a band of aussies who celebrated with the rest of Sydney & South Melbourne. We didn't stop partying for rest of the weekend.
I'm back in Sydney now, and I will be at the G the next time it happens I assure you!!
Fantastic to see this. I have followed the Swans since 1973. When we won I was in the UK listening to it on the radio and I cried for joy when the siren sounded. My dad was at the 1933 GF and would have loved to see them win again after all of those defeats at the Lakeside oval! Go Bloods - do it again soon!
A brilliant video, i was there with my five 80yr olds, im in some of the pictures. Brings a tear to my eyes everytime i watch it. Thankyou so much mate. Go Bloods.
im a crows fan, but long live the swans, was great to see em win in 05, and i even felt a bit down when thy lost in 06, felt for them getting so close to lose by one point!
I hope so too man. I've always enjoyed watching the Bloods play too - and their "never say die" ethos strikes a chord with me. Good luck for both sides in '10!!
I was at the Swans first game at the SCG. I was there in 96 when they beat Hawthorn and Essendon and then lost the GF in 96. In 05 I was at the win against Geelong and that Everest of a conquest at the MCG. The tension and excitement were palpable, dripping off the stands. It was viscous in the air. And then... we won. Pure ecstasy and a life long joy to have witnessed it. And then I was at the GF in 06. A fan's journey and a club's journey... I guess to be continued. What a sport!
I cried watching it,, brought back so many good memories. And I'm most saddened that many of the players that were shown on this video have either retired or been traded to another club...
Brilliant - very nicely edited and great music. Love the Swans - lots of great memories but seeing the emotion on Darren Jolly's face right up there. Thanks
i was there and it was the best moment of my life. it's fantastic to watch the crowd reaction. I think many people fail to realize how much this meant to the supporters, more than any other final in our history!
I couldnt agree more. It meant even more to me because that was the last game I saw with my father. very fond memories of that day and probably my favorite Swans moment.
My favorite moment was when I was at the game against Geelong Where Nick Davis scored in like the last second. So amazing and the crowd just exploded.
Nice work. I was behind the goals where Barry took the mark. I had no idea he took the mark though as everybody was jumping up and down. One of the best grand final moments ever!
My dad lived and died and never saw the bloods win a Granny, this moment will remain special to all blood supporters. And to Paul Kelly, the only thing that could have made this any better is if you played. Your the best player to ever grace the field with your presence. ***GO BLOODS***

sent shivers down my spine.. we had to wait, but i don't think it would've counted for anyone else as it did for us. 72 years of not achieving potential repaid. kels' emotion just highlighted what we know:

Awesome video. Gave me the chills down my spine. I love the never seen before footages; like the reaction from the Sydney crowd when Leo Barry marked and when the siren went off.

Awesome video. Gave me the chills down my spine. I love the never seen before footages; like the reaction from the Sydney crowd when Leo Barry marked and when the siren went off.
