  • I want this video on my P341i unit.

  • Back in the 60's there was a gas station up on the corner, it had 3 bathrooms, Men, Women, and a Colored out back near the trash. About the time this song came out, that station was torn down, and a micro mart self serv went up. It had one bathroom. "Uni-Sex"

    My home town.

  • Amacing Song!!!

  • Look - Pavel Bobek song name - muj rodny dum

  • nice

  • Can I hear the crowd trying to clap along in the background? If so they need a sense of rhythm.

  • From 2:16 ....2:48 He is talking about what Reaganomics did to our country and home towns.

  • This amazing concert took place 1 mile from MY hometown: so pride!

  • My hometown is Uniondale, NY. It is out on Long Island. I grew up there back in the 50's and early 60's. It was wonderful, and I wouldn't trade it for all of the money in the world. My dad use to let me sit on his lap and "drive" our old 1952 dodge. I can still smell his cigarette. The town is not the same anymore, but it was a paradise back then for a child. I live in California now, but Uniondale will always be my hometown. Always.....

  • Big man..

  • Clarence Clemons please RIP

  • 1967justpretend has pretty much written the lyrics to another great song. Way to go.

  • "My Hometown" was Monson, MA, which got hit hard by the tornado on Wednesday. Some of the house I grew up in, others on the street. This song makes me think of Monson in its better days. It's always in my heart. I live next door in Palmer, we lucked out. Other towns didn't. Thank you , Mr. Springsteen, for the heartfelt song. Jackilyn

  • For a song this old, the theme is exactly what continues to go on in our piss poor economy. The crap going on was just a snapshot into the future. It just keeps getting worse for the working class, the rich get richer and the rest of us try to get by!

  • I think everyone needs to listen to the lyrics of this song. He was singing a story of a past time that America lost. The home community no matter how difficult those days was between race of blacks and whites, Those days was far better then these days! It's sad. I can recall running 4 blocks down to local mini mart in my small town and being able to buy penny candy. When a phone call cost a dime. Police used common sense and didn't harass the average poor American kid. Those days are gone.

  • Bruce I have adored your music for over thirty years you are a complete legend. Ps we are about the same age, so if you ever get fed up of Patti, call me!!!!

  • This song could be the sister of John Mellencamp's song Small Town!

  • @lyonslaforet

    John Mellencamp f'ing wishes.

  • 8 people have no hometown...

  • It was my sons 6th birthday recently, We took a trip to a small town of 700 people where I grew up as a kid, I put him on my lap and let him steer the vehicle, I moved the rear view mirror so I could see His face and looked into heaven that day.....

  • This song reminds me of my late father when we visited his hometown of Toronto! Thanks for sharing....

  • thank u boss for everything...from india

  • im 30 now, as a kid i never really thought a whole bunch of bruce either way, bad or good. just heard this song the other day coming back home from philly and i guess it finally dawned on me how amazing he is. cant stop listening to this song now.

  • the funny thing is, Bruce came from a very historic town. He grew up in Freehold, NJ which is the site of one the bloodiest battles of the revolutionary war.

  • This video is proof that rock music was breath taking. Not that limp-wristed emotionless stuff that is around these days.

This is a song you just listened to and then sat in silence because nothing needed to be added.

    Perfection.

  • @iamamywaterhouse

    agree so much, mate.

  • .....si ci mancano tutti quelli che non sonop più tornati ......e di chi è la responsablità ?????certo non di quelli morti nel loro sangue........grazie Bruce !!!

  • i am trying to be it .... yes we can be these kind of dads.

  • One of my all time favorite songs sung by a great artist.

  • {My HOMETOWN} I tell my kids to take a good look around and this is their home town EVERY time, we visit our home town! It has had hurricanes and an oil spill but it is still HOME!!! OH what a year 1985 was!! Memories wrote on the walls of my heart forever!

  • Girl, take a good look around... This is the boss I met some time ago... and still singing every of his songs... day by day. So c'mon... you gotta feel it... you gotta dance it... you gotta sing it... you gotta rock it!!

  • 1988-1997-Mes années de lutte en Guadeloupe...

  • 62 & 68 way back when...

  • I love you Bruce!!

  • It's dreams and hopes and illusions that this song captures in such vivid lyrical beauty! The reality cuts like a blade upon the skin....and we bleed to Bruce's beautiful voice!!!

  • @Winterlightsky well put :-)

  • legend song...

  • In the monolouge before this song (of the Paris '85 show) he talks about how he lived in California and hadn't been back to Jersery in a long time. When he finally came back and drove around the town where he grew up all these emotions came back to him about his childhood and how he felt he ran away because he was scared of belonging to something. The lyrics reflect what might have been had he been a townie his whole life and he was proud of the townies who he had left behind.

  • This song makes me cry!! :-(...great song though...

  • What a great live singer he is....

  • Damn good song..beyond words. This is why he's the mother-fuckin' BOSS!!!!!!!!!!! 'Cause he sings about REAL SHIT and he don't give a fuck who you are and what you got to say. Just like when he told that evil sack of no good, piece of shit, waist of life Reagan to go fuck himself when he tried to use Springsteen's music. It's such a sad but beautiful song about how fucked up life can be & this song still is true now a days.

  • damn. freakin'hot.

    lovebruce!

  • i wish i could meet the boss and teach me all the music's he know's he must be a nice person

  • a truly beautiful song

  • Wonderful song, outstanding

  • THANK YOU BOSS FROM TURIN ( ITALY )

  • Das ist obermännlich, ich liebe diesen Song. Er begleitet mich oft

  • This makes me break out in goosebumps and puts tears in my eyes...Bruce is the only one who can do that with music

  • The Boss!!!

  • sexy man sexy voice, love him!

  • my hometown is't en el salvador., and i love the two, towns virginia and el salvador.

  • i wish i had a dad like he´s singing of.. i´m gonna try to be one.

  • @WingThorable but yet in his story before he sings "born to run" he talks about how tough his dad was and how much they faught, but in the end it was all tough love.

  • j'y étais mais pour des raisons totalement externes au concert je n'ai pas vraiment apprécié

  • De quoi tu parles! Quoi est arrivé???

  • This reminds me of my dad, he loves this song.

  • And thank's Joanna... You know who you are.xx

  • This song reminds me of when I was 21...My girlfriend and I was sitting in my car just about to go into the pub, when this song came on the radio... we both decided to listen to the end of the song and then sat there in silence for awhile. Now i'm 42 the cars gone the girlfriends gone, but this song and the memory of that night will alway's be in my heart. Thank's for the memories Bruce. Top man, top song.

  • nice story

  • @1967justpretend is she on facebook? Sounds like a nice memory to share.

  • @1967justpretend

  • @1967justpretend

I´m sitting just in front of my computer, in Hannover, Germany - drinking something and thinking about the time this song really was actuall. Now i am 38. I even lost my car & the women...

  • ATTENTION COPIE CONFORME DE GAINSBOURG : " ne dis rien " !!!!!!!!

  • Great song!!..love the vid..thank you:)

  • I was at this show, he played a two-night stand in Paris. At one point during the concert he mentioned that he couldn't believe he was 35. He said he couldn't see anyone in the crowd who looked older than 35. He looked around and then said to a man, "You look like your older than 35!"

Bruce was 35 and now he's 57. I was 26 and now I'm 48. It seems like yesterday.

You know how old people tell you how fast time goes? They're not shittin' ya.

  • it's our hometown now matter how old we get..here's a hug..never got to see bruce..wish I could of....

  • Tell me about it geezer! I was 20 years old footloose and fancy free last time I saw him in my native UK. If someone had told me that night. The next time you see Springsteen you will be knockin' on 40 and a father of three living in Canada. I would have said they were on drugs. Life is strange. I can not wait for the gig in March. Its going to rock.

Your right! They ain't shittin ya'

  • the best song i've ever heard

  • classic!

  • This song sounds much better on the album, this version is not reflecting the mood of the original one, the keyboard play is especially not fitting in here.

  • Springsteen is the greatest
