  • Comment removed

  • ive learned and mix matched every trick ive seen online except invert butterflies . i need help with new material bad i know theres alot more out there for me

  • fuck im so jeious nno one can do the waiste wraps better then him

  • dude, how much spare time do you have????

  • @mikecook6266 no no no no no you got it wrong. do you think he does this just for shits and giggles? fuck i am sure he doesnt it to share ut he is amazing he is clearly getting paid in free things or something so its not spare time its one of his jobs

  • first off, i love you for explaining this on youtube. after seeing a friend flow, i wanted to learn, and now im trying to get crossers and spiral wraps. ive almost perfected hyperloops, and a few other moves. point is. i love poi, and it is possibly the most fun ive had in a long time next to expressing myself through dance. please keep playing and ill do the same. again, thankyou :)

  • butterfly crossers come real easy to me but for some reason i cant get same direction crossers.. keep hitting myself its really frustrating..

    thats poi for ya

  • is that your only pair of pants?

  • dude I love your lessons but your runners annoy me!

  • nice

  • Jiggying :D

  • your so awsome!!! youve made a mark in the world just with youtube alone :)

ive learned from all your videos ^_^

  • one thing he forgot to mention which is why i have trouble learning it. it is split time same direction correct? been spinning for about a year now. i wanna go pro so bad im trying to get my name out there and become better known little by little. im in advanced moves now just behind the back i cant do weaves, and this crosser revisiting it now that im more experienced i SEE how to do it ^_^

  • I keep hitting myself in the face!

  • Quick suggestion for those with glasses: Take them off.

  • Nick, you've motivated all of my friends and myself. We love poi, in part, because you do. Of all the videos we've seen, you are the happiest poi dancer ever. Thanks a million.

  • where do you get your sock poi??

  • Keep hitting myself in the face réally hard ><

  • @MonsterMikeMonster

Me too, and in the back of the head

  • This move takes allot of practice. Don't get discouraged if you don't get it after a little bit. Most moves in Poi look easier to do than they really are.. When he uses one poi to show you the motion.. don't just do it once and think your good to move on.. do it over and over untill it's basically natural feeling. Do this with each step up in the move untill it is all natural and once the point comes that you put it together it will be easy! once you get a move down you know it forever!!!

  • practiced this for one hour a got it woo hoo. no its my favorite move!!! :)

  • ok, watching you makes me feel like a pansy, lol. you're super talented

  • Please, what's the music in the begining?

  • Yea sweet, took me abit but i can crossers now,, thanks man your a champ teacher.

  • A tip to you or anyone else having problems with crossers, I suggest getting comfortable doing weaves in wall plane. Pretty much, instead of turning your body when switching from forwards weave to reverse weave, just do it behind you and under your arm. This will get you used to crossing your arms.

  • ARrr.. im fairly new to poi and realy struggling with this, my skill has been developing so well,, but now i feel like i've goten to a point where im not improving. like hitting a brick wall.

  • @crispbix do yourself a favor. Ascend the brick wall. I can't do this yet and I can do the BTB 3 beat weave (inverse)

  • well, its a pretty advanced move, so dont feel bad if your not getting comfortable with it yet.. after 3 years of playing im slowly gettin into it.. spinning your poi should not be a race.. it should be fun. so enjoy dancing around with it and exploring the walls around your body. :)

    greetings from austria

  • @crispbix we all hit the wall, those who get better are the ones who keep trying to climb the wall and eventually ascend it

  • he is amazing!!

  • Awesome. It really lets you add your whole body into the dance.

  • id probably hit myself in the face. i tend to do that when playin with glowsitcks and stuff.

  • I can't get passed basic spinning, I'm so uncoordinated, :(

  • Dont give up. Its so much fun when you finally get it down. Everyone starts man. Theres nothing like spinning Poi. :D

  • Thanks, I will keep trying, I just wish I had someone to show me how in person lol it's hard for me to learn the tutorials unless I can slow it down a lot :)

  • What i did was break it down. Start with one poi in 1 hand for a while. (Around 20 minutes) do the same with the other hand (about 20 minutes) then try them together for 20 minutes. Repeat each step till you master it. I learned on my own, been spinning for around 5 years and its so addicting once you get a move you've been wanting to learn for a long time down. Learn it on your own, i live in Texas and i swear where i live im the only one who knows how to spin. Youll be the life of a party man.

  • I know this is a stupid question but, what does a poi mean EXACTLY? tnx to anyone who can lighten this up for me. ^^

  • if you mean the word poi it means "ball"

  • Ohhh, ok. Tnx! Now my only question now is whether you can use these tutorials for raving. :P

  • Since I'm not into raving in any form I don't know, but i guess you could, I mean why not?

  • Cuz one of Nick's tutorials are the 'isolations' and it's more possible with a heavier end (the glowsticks don't match up to it that much)..

  • Wait, what directions does your poi start out?

  • THANK U SO MUCH NICK!!! I was starting to think i would never be able to do this move but the way u explained it was most helpful to me! You're truly awesome! Thanks man u give me motivation to keep on doing poi! I just hope to be nearly as good as u someday lol.

  • Excellent demonstration! I've seen many explanations this is very understandable and easily broken down. Gracias :)

  • The basic concept finaly entered my body. After many hit to the and the groin ^^ This video was a VERY big help.

  • nice! dude i still cant mangage to get this down lol :/ ill get it soon. ima try and practice it all day today lol

  • nice cap :D!

  • Dude i'm having trouble getting into the butterfly crosser, can anyone help me out?

  • from butterfly when its comming on the down beat cross your arms the left under your right arm then try swinging your body from right to left. hope this helps :)

  • SOOO HARD!!!

  • i thought that was called the straight jacket....

  • straightjackets are trickier, djsparrow has a good tutorial

  • grrrr you make it look so natural

    awesome stuff!

  • I've got to try. :)

  • I love that in all your vids, you seem so happy to be spinning, lots of respect ;)

  • Arrrggg, you just make it look so simple!!! ur great, man. Hope I can make it in no time lol. Cheers from Mexico!!!

  • it's harder for fat guys who had a broken clavicle like me:))=))=))=))=))x)

  • Sweeeeet.

    You're awesome

    so are the pants.

  • cool!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nick looks like sean hayes

  • I'm hooked, man this stuff is cool.

  • woah...this is my new tutor right here. can you do a crossover wrap tutorial????

  • can fat people do this too?

  • it's all about your motor skills im fat and i can do it...it's jst harder to do and learn you have to exersise your motor skills even more than usuall jst like btb you got to work at it

  • thank you these moves are so cool . it really loosens the body up and gives a whole lot of new possibilities. so cool

  • dankness i got some of those pants in peru in a little bodega but were can i get you dvd adventures in poi ?????

  • HomeOfPoi

    Or you could google it...

  • those pants are really cool

    where can i get some?

  • home of poi or flowtoys... Pretty expesive tho!

  • the way you smile, you either really enjoy doing this OR are on drugs. i hope the first applies only ;-)

however, I (in my case) enjoyed watching this movie (without drugs :P)

  • To club swingers, crossovers are bicep/triceps wrap variations.

    Great straight jacket tut tho.

    :D

  • Strait jackets are different from crossers. Straitjackets wud be like crossers but his left hand wud be tucked under his right armpit.

  • No, crossers are not the same as crossover wraps. Crossers are poi moves that involve crossing your body with one or both arms, frontal or btb, and keeping the poi/sticks swinging in a weave-like motion.

    Crossovers are wraps. =]

  • it's a pity that you haven't put the mind meltdown in this lesson.

    watch?v=QVO6KA8o-7I

-> he got it to the point ;-)

  • Awesome... thank you for enlightening my life with these moves.

  • You're the best, Meenik, thank you!::)

  • sick pants, dude.

  • lol

    nice pants!!!

  • be my dad?

  • I love thanks you :)

  • It's 9 degrees F here heading for -5 tonight. (uck!) I'd like to get started practicing before the middle of May but I'm not sure how bundled up I should be to be able to enjoy practicing while not waiting for it to get into the 50s/60s. Obviously, I'm not going out tonight, but suggestions on when to brave the weather would be nice. -- Some suggestions on where to do it inside would be nice too, but I don't want to pay >$300 for a gym to practice in.

  • try in your kitchen.......it works for me when its winter time.... that way you stay warm and dry and far away from the TV LOL

  • you are AMAZING! thank you for helping me on the road to a being bad ass fire poi goddess!

  • which direction are they both swinging :/

  • Ive known these moves by the name 'straight jackets'. A few tips for anyone: try isolated turns with them, isolated and antispin armswitches, and stalls (those are really hard)

  • i think the diference is that with straight jackets your arms are actually crossed like you would if u were in a straight jacket were as crossers are just on the other side of the body . well thats what i was taught anyway :> hope this helps

  • nick, can you do one on waist wraps? :)

  • Thank you, Nick. I know this lesson is really going to help me with my "flow".

PS - I heart your really big pants.

  • I'll make a video on under the leg crosser combinations. Most people still equate crossers with your basic 'huggy' crosser variations. The unique quality about crossers is their ability to be interwoven seemlessly from one to the other...which makes for a bit of insanity down the line, lol.

  • Adn yes that's exactlly what i ment!!!

  • Yay my request!!! THANKS!!

  • I love the way you explain things. You help it click, Thank you. :)
