@prop8commentary i am so sorry i guess i was not paying much attention... thanks for telling me wat is going on in this video...i feel verry dumb now haha... i appreciate wat u do... thank u so much!!!
the problem with gay deaths is religion... the churches shove stuff down their throats!! i used to want to kill myself because of all the mormon church leaders!!! there is a mormon in my church that asked us in a class if any of us wore those tight jeans and he said i hope u guys dont wear those faggy jeans...thats not wat god wanted at all! he doesnt want u to throw your life away! we were put on this earth to live in this period of time for a reason!!! im sure many others wud agree with me!!!!
im sorry but i think this is bull...im a mormon that is completely gay... i have a boyfriend and im so happy...dont live life lonely and unhappy!pretty much wat this video tells u to do is kill yourself so that u can be in the next life...i believe that u shud live life happily... im not against the religion at all, but seriously? this church is probably the most judging church ever and the ppl call themselves mormon?!?! i dont get it!!! theres tons of scripture that says worry about yourself...
@italianCalifornian Mr. italianCalifornia, you have completely misunderstood this video. This video is a protest against the LDS Church policies, which force people to live celibate lives. This is intended to make LDS members confront their biases toward gay people. This video DOES NOT encourage ANYONE to kill themselves, or to "live life lonely and unhappy." Please go back and watch it again. I am a gay man, raised LDS, and protesting against Church policies, NOT supporting them.
Many times, people make quick recommendations without considering the full extent of the consequences. Maybe a few don't even care. I'm sure some would if they watched your video. It's excellent.
Great Video!! For a long time I wondered why would God require us to suffer in order to gain his love. After many years of searching I come to realize that He requires NOTHING! God is LOVE and love is not binding but love sets you free. It is easy to get lost in books and others opinion of what God is said to want. No Books are needed to find Him, all you need to do is look with in. God is in all of us.
As a Mormon who experiences same gender attraction, I often feel like a piece of metal thrown into a furnace, then quenced, then beat upon with a hammer, and put back into the furnace. But you know what? I am happy because I keep the commandments and I wouldn't wish that my challenges were taken away. This life passes by so quickly. Life is not fair. I have learned to take an eternal view and be happy with the blessings that do have. I have let go of the negative attitudes and am much happier.
Each individual has their own journey. That you have found the right path for your own personal journey is good, and I'm glad you're happy. But please be sure, this video is not about venting negative attitudes. The policies of the church lead directly to the premature deaths of gay and lesbian members. It's not a negative attack; it is a statement of fact. Everyone's journey is different. I choose to speak up in this life, rather than quietly waiting until I die for a better resolution.
Thank you ... visuals, sound, message — great. Now let's shine this on Rome and see what Benedict has to say about the practice of attenuating the fullness of life for millions of self-flagellating gay Catholics who toe that party line.
Jesus is often referred to as the great uniter of persons, however, His words are referred by Him as a dividing force. The leaders of the church are only reinforcing what is stated in Romans Chapter 1. Now, I myself have love and concern for homosexuals, and it is my hope that the Lord will forgive "all" of our shortcomings, so that we may all be able to enter into God's presence. I am a heterosexual married man, but I am a sinner, as all men are.
Your interpretation of Romans 1 is not universal. Several biblical scholars have noted that Paul's condemnation is targeting socially condoned pederasty (men loving boys), and not the loving union of two adult people. The argument that leaders are "only reinforcing what is stated" in the scriptures not only assumes your interpretation is the sole truth, more importantly it is also an attempt to deflect taking responsibility for the consequences of such policies.
And,then the poor celebate gay mormon, who has sacrificed so much to please God, will (according to the baptists etc), be cast into the lake of fire for all eternity for being a mormon!
If you're a baptist, you have plenty of gay baptist members who are suffering the same burdens. Are you looking for ways to help and support them, or just condemn them?
I'm highlighting the sadness of someone sacrificing everything for an unworthy cause, (a cult).I've always found the idea of eternal hell a very distressing one. I'm Anglican and our church is full of gays, some in high positions.Of all churches ours is the one where the issue is most discussed.
Maybe one day we can get some of your Anglican leadership to have a little chat with the Mormon leadership. There's certainly a lot the LDS could learn from the growing inclusiveness the Anglicans demonstrate (well, most of the Anglicans, anyway -- not some of the ones in Africa, though, as well as other pockets.... here's to hoping they resolve their differences and don't split from the Anglican communion)
we all have trouble in life in different degrees, but it seems to me that your flesh is stronger than your spirit, if we love God we'll do what God commands, many have died because of their beliefs but still they believe it till death. Of course it is not easy but the crown that's waiting for u will be worth all sacrifices, i can tell u of personal experiences i had but in private where i've been tested even more than i thought i could stand, God is great and has made me whole
"many have died because of their beliefs but still they believe it till death." You're advocating that Gay Mormons should become martyrs then? To willingly suffer a lower quality of life, and die early, all in the name of someone else's interpretation of what God is really saying to us? Part of the problem here is that church leaders do not understand the full ramification of their requirements, and there is a failure to find a better solution. Ignoring these issues is not the answer.
Do u want me to feel pity for u then?, come on, i grew up as a catholic and one of my dads relatives was a catholic priest, he was happy all his life, he died many years ago, never heard any complaint or suffering for a "lower quality of life", what a great man, as u can see some made their choice because want to please God not their flesh, the problem, people are the problem, the ones who think they can counsel God, church leaders are not requiring anything, they won't save me, Jesus does
Are you pretending to be a Christian? Christ never taught anyone to talk with such callousness. You want to understand what this means in their lives? Go live celibate yourself and 20 years from now, we'll chat again. Until that time, and until you're willing to do that yourself, you have no room to judge someone else's journey.
Your example doesn't work. Your uncle CHOSE to live alone, no one FORCED him to live alone. The Mormons REQUIRE gays to live alone, it's not an option. There's a huge difference between those situations. If you uncle decided he wanted to get married, he would be allowed to leave the priesthood and marry. Gay Mormons never have an option to find a partner.
I've always wanted an explanation for the rationale of celibacy What "good" does celibacy serve? Whose life is enhanced by it? How does the celibacy of gay persons benefit marriage or straight people, or for that matter God? This from the one who said, "It is not good for the man to be alone."
Perhaps those who advocate celibacy should try it and then get back to us with a description of its benefits.
How many straight people, having found a partner would willingly give that partner up?

They condemn us to (an early) death without ever actually condemning us and like Pontius Pilatus they wash their hands in innocense....
