FYI !! fellow Star Trek Fans "Star Trek the Exhibit" is coming to the midwest to Louisville Science Center in Kentucky Jan through May 2011. The exhibition features sets, costumes, priceless museum pieces and props from all five Star Trek television series and 11 Star Trek feature films, including the newest blockbuster film. The exhibition opens January 23, 2011
Your an idiot. This movie was AMAZING. It had nothing in common with the others cause it was a reboot. Your an idiot. They created the theory of an alternate reality so they can make new movies and not have to "destroy the saga." No one wants to hear your stupid comments.
Let's take a vote here . Should there be a channle on cable deadacaited for the people that would like to watch star trek ? Star trek has made a hit in alot of peoples live's and play's a role in the wave of the future.I would hope one day there will be a channle on cable just for star trek in deadacaited to all who haved made it such a hit .And in deadacaited to Star Trek'' creator Gene Roddenberry I think he and all the cast of star trek deserve a channel on cable vote yes or no . Thank you!
Let's say, I wasn't too impressed, initially, with the version depicted in the video above. Too advanced for me to consider it older than the TOS version. THEN I saw the pics of the new Enterprise. The version above is head-over-heels FAR superior in design. At least it resembles the TOS Enterprise.
Boys and girls do you see this film's Enerprise? Well a ,,little really different..." and have strage designe. Hopefully they write down to the end of the film: After the adventure some year the Enterprise go back to the dry dock for refit (to the TOS Enterprise) and then contiune the exlore the galaxy (The original series)
Why are trekkies so attached to that old and, lets be honest, cheap model of the Enterprise? It may have been great back in the sixties but not anymore. I can understand you don't really like the new Enterprise, but you have to understand that the one from the '60 was really outdated...
It's a touchstone, like a childhood toy or comfortable pair of shoes. It's also a reminder of the purest form of Star Trek, the vision Roddenberry intended. The optimism and wonder.
thanks51 has right. I see the ST cage episode first, when i was with my grandfather. It was with German language, but thank my grand father who translate me i understand what they speak. And when i see first the Enterprise... well... I like it from the first moment. The first thing what i like is the saucer section like an UFO, the sensor is a parabola antenna. I find somehow simple, but somehow elegant. And i can even drawing. This was the day when i become sci-fi fan.
i think i have seen the trailer for the new film over 150 times now, and the more i see it the better it looks...it looks like the film centres around kirk n spock's relationship, how they become friends...if it does then i don't think any of us fans will complain
Yes but this ship is constructed on San Fransisco Fleetyards. That means, the components are build in earth, but they were finally put together in space. Like the ISS today
Im sorry, but were not talking about the International Space Station.
The Enterprise has Impulse and Warp engines strong enough to lift it off the earth surface. The problem was, it had to lauched in open fields where nothing was because it would surley break the sound barrier really hard.
The origianal Enterprise NCC 1701 will be come back again. If this happens, i will of course see the new star trek. I today heard the new star strek is the most best of all time. i hope, and it will be better than the star wars shit.
Don't be fooled by the hype! This is nothing like the Star Trek that you know and something worse than simply updating Star Trek. The characters have been completely re-written and the timeline that we know, has been destroyed. Spock in attempting to stop the Romualans from destroying the Federation somehow, fails and the timeline that we know is completely obliterated! No more Star Trek! The look is only an approximation. The biggest ripoff since CBS gave us Lost in Space instead of Star Trek!
Anything that makes Trekkies spout stupid shit like "Spock in attempting to stop the Romualans from destroying the Federation somehow, fails and the timeline that we know is completely obliterated! No more Star Trek!" and pisses them off...
...means this movie rocks harder than Dimebag Darrell.
A salad od design that will be incossistent among the series and films. They will make a new design to Enterprise, making it look more modern than the ship from Kik in the film VI.
I too am filled with uneasiness concerning this Trek film (ESPECIALLY as a ORIGINAL SERIES fan) I have just seen over and over how much Hollywood fucks up movies intended to "bring back the old story" and I am VERY nervous about this one, and I don't know...Anyone else think the new Enterprise model is ugly? It looks overly bulky and I don't like it much, It looks close to the original but WAY too bulky..they should've just stuck with the original model design. any way....fuckin' nervous!
Okay, so pretty much I keep reading the same gripes, fears, worries and complaints people had concerning Abrams revision of Transformers and that turned out just fine. I mean look at Transformers before Abrams... and then after. Star Trek has over 40 years to it and has the broadest spectrum of any franchise to date. Sure it's had its weak points over the years, but Abrams will do what he does best and will revitalize it.
There are pics of the film on line if you know where to look. Some people have bitched about how much they changed everything(EX: the Bridge doesnt look the same, etc). But I can accept the changes and will save my judgement until I've seen the Film.
Following the Batman idea, a sad case. They should have gone with the script written my Brent Spiner, which would have brought all the captains together.

Awful movie! They have completely destroyed the saga.....
Gowron54973 2 years ago
How can you destroy a saga with a prequel?
holodock 2 years ago
It looks easy- just create something that has nothing in common with the rest.

So basically you are saying that this is an alternative Star Trek movie? Something that has nothing in common with the original?

And just one thing:
For Example: Krik and Chechov weren't at the Academy at the same time. In TOS, Kirk was about 34 years, and Pavel ist 21. Or Spock, he was 102 years.

what I saw in the new trailer was, that the ship is completly constructed on earth-surface. BIG BIG MISTAKE, Mr. Abrahams!!!
Such a ship can't take off a planets surface.
But I think this is the Price we Trekkies have to pay in the futur: Less logics and more action.

Sorry but your wrong there are so many exampales where star trek ship have some sort of perpulsion for atmosferic flicht

If you mean the new Star Wars movies, than I agree, but if you mean Star Wars in general, then you need to rethink what you've written.

The absolute worst thing I could imagine would be a film bringing all the captains together. Talk about a totally cheesy, extraneous, fanboy fest.

I hope they take the orginal constitution-class-design.
In my eyes the shown ship is more equal to the Refit-design, and is some sort of prototype of the Refit-constitution.

I think this looks pretty good!! I like how all of the actors look like the original cast

The car in 05:19 is not a future car from Star Trek universe, but a actual eletric car, the Aptera.

only for the fact that there is a destinction between revitalizing and rebooting something (!)

Abrams had nothing to do with the new TFs. That was a Michael Bay film. Both the latest TF film and the new Trek have the same writers.
