  • James-all I wanna say is :I ve seen zillions of YT teachers-and the way you demonstrate tunes is absolutely straightforward and makes people really think:I can do it.my regards.

  • Muito bom Justin porem procurei o Blaze of Glory e nao tem, você poderia postar esse ?

  • thanks

  • отличный урок!!! огромное спасибо из Украины)))))

  • u are freaking awesome teacher Justin i love u <3 <3

  • You are so easy to follow....but for some reason I suck at playing D:

  • 9:45 WHAT IS THIS SORCERY?!

  • great lesson!!

thank you so much from France

    :-)

  • Thx for the best lessons on youtube. I don't even use the search bar anymore I just look through your videos. Lol

  • hi is laughing the wohle time^^

  • The fingerpicking for this song isn't even that hard. Watch his lesson on his own song "From Katies Window" THAT is real fingerpicking!

  • Jesus christ.. if you guys don't know how to pick fingerstyle than just watch the lesson anyway and memorize the strings he picks with his fingers by order and play them with a pick.. Metallica don't play this song fingerstyle.. so its possible to play this song with a pick.. you just have to stop being a lazy bastard and find out yourself.

  • @kingstomman Well said my friend, well said.

  • A shape...

  • well... gotta stop biting my nails I guess :\

  • beautiful guitar

  • best "Nothing Else Matters" lesson on youtube. Thanks :)

  • i see so many people moan about finger picking. This was the first kind of guitar i learnt ( classical ) im so glad i learnt it early on

  • Great lesson!

  • You are a good teacher. Thanks!

  • I keep pressing 1 after the first part.

  • Ok, next search: beginner.

  • really the best teacher EVER i'm taking your lessons getting better every day

  • im finding it incredibly hard to strecth my fingers like that.

  • They've just bought me a guitar and it's so great I found you on youtube, I can learn with your help, thanks :D

  • E X E L E N T E! IM HAPPY!! REALLY GREAT!

  • the bigeest problem is for me is the chord in 9:11 and i stop in this point and i cant learn more

  • My hands are way too small to make the big stretch on 5.20 :(

  • which guitar is this, sounds great

  • justin, you're simply the best! i never learned how to play the guitar eventhough i got one - then found your amazing lessons and now i can even play this!

    thank you so much!

  • 2:40 i cant seem to get the pull off sounding loud and clean its always soo quiet arghh

  • @pearson665 if you play this on classic guitar, then it's normal

  • how did you reach to the 2nd fret of the low E string so easily? I'm having a really hard time reaching that note and my hands are not small by most standards

  • @1000022205

practice..just practice..i started to learn this...and for my shame..i abandoned it..so i pick it up now to re-learn..i found it very difficult ...but with some exercises from justin..and practice...i still find it pretty hard..cause i didn't do this piece of song..but...not as hard it was few months ago...so...don't give..it's the only single most important advice anyone can give you....and u will see results..take care

  • duh he's awesum!!!!

  • i love you

  • where is the last part of intro???

  • Sounds awesome on the fender.

  • everyone knows this tune but me.

  • love this guy lol lol( im not gay)

    lol

  • i'd had been even better if you had second video showing right hand plucking....some videos in youtube have such feature showing four different frames at a time.. that helps better....I think that kind of videos really stand out...

  • where is he from? England of course but from where exactly?

  • @fafaffu2 Australia. Tasmania to be exact. He moved to England in the mid-nineties I think.

  • @fafaffu2 hes from australia. tasmania but lives in england

  • ME GUSTA

  • looks like the like and dislike buttons are too close together...13 people hit "dislike" by mistake.

  • Hey I love Metallica songs, but I was questioning if the song One is played on drop D or Standard tuning?

  • @MrHatandClogs42 Standard

  • Hello friend, what is the last chord? or its a open string? thanks! not really very good English management...

  • Great job, Justin! :) Although, I'm pretty sure the 07:53 part sounds better when you start with the lower E and pull E and B at the same time for the last sound. It's closer to the record, I think. Cheers!

  • THUMBS UP FOR jwcfree-the tutor, you are the best

    NO DISLIKES OR ELSE

I mean that he is trying his best to make it easy'er for us and he does it, so NO DISLIKES they are stupid and look stupid on this awesome video, so who ever is with me - THUMBS UP

  • oh my god it was so perfect i cried ;(

  • okay 13 people in the world so far have their monitors upside down...

  • so clear so talent this is all what the peopel want thank u so much

  • WOW! I can actually understand what you're taking about. Thank you very good lesson :)

  • i want ur guitar! lol sounds fantastic

  • Hey Justin. Great video lesson - this and also 2nd and 3rd Part, thanks for it. I just start playing the E-Guitar some weeks ago and I promised, this would be the first song I'll learn...! I have a question for the section after the harmonics: the first you play and say following the harmonics is an E minor chord, playing it a little bit like a bar chord. Is it a full bar at the 7th fret or do you only have your finger on the 5th string and the 1st string in the 7th fret?

  • gah fingerpicking...one day...one day

  • @TheBfutgreg I'm the total opposite. I don't get why I would want to use a pick when I already have 5 picks at the end of my fingers.

  • i found it a bit difficult to follow the right or the left hand...plz help me just for the introduction to the part where you play the harmonics

  • Hey Justin, what's up? It's been a while I think since you last visited my site, but I recently did guitar lessons for Beat It and Rock You Like a Hurricane guitar solos with tabs of course. Oh and my Stairway to Heaven solo lesson recently went over 100000 views :)

    Rock on!

    PDXguitarfreak (Dave)

  • hey justin im thinking about learning this and i noticed u did a lesson on stairway to heaven and i learnt 1 of 6 do u think the main riff to nothing else matters is easier than stairway to heaven or harder because i know the main riff to stairway to heaven

  • CUT YOUR NAILS xD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @metalhead9167 They are long so he can do fingerpicking ya tard, lots of guitarists do it.

  • @MegaLolburger i use the tips of my fingers.

  • @metalhead9167 Well think of it as having a plectrum on the end of every finger. It's more precise and sounds better imo.

  • awesome lesson :)

  • Justin does it better than the studio version!

  • very good lesson but cut your nails :)

  • which tuning is the studio song in???

  • @barcelonadk Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb

  • @BoiledFingers thank you :) But when i tried that, i didnt think that it sounded completeky like the original d;?

  • @barcelonadk yeah but if you listen close to the song you'll hear that is a little down-tuned than the one Justin plays

  • bar chordage lmfao 7:50 lol thats why i love justin he makes it fun

  • great lesson

  • Truly amazing video, I have tried to learn this intro since I started playing guitar about 3 years ago, but when I looked at the tab I always gave up after 20 minutes, now I have learned it to perfection in 30 minutes, thank you very much Justin

    Now of to part 2

  • For some reason I can play notes very clean, but when it comes to chords, they sound muted or just horrible.

Any tips on how to play clean chords & transitioning?

  • Not all who aspire to teach have the gift, but you do. I really enjoy your work, and the best thing that a teacher can pass along is the will to succeed and keeping at it. I get so frunstrated I am ready to turn my guitar into kindeling. but by watching your effortless talent, it really keeps me plugging away, and I am much improved because of it. Your tutorial on the Pink Floyd song Wish You Were Here is my current project on acoustic, and this is my electric guitar song. Cheers!

  • You're fuckin awesome man! Thanks for laying it out so anyone can understand it. I haven't played in years and just got a guitar a few days ago and I'm already doing much better than I thought I would be thanks to you.

  • Nothing on the web gives this much free advice-go Justin...

  • you are amazing. I have learnt many songs through your lessons. I would love to have private lesson with...but I guess this would have to do!

  • Sorry i meant this for another video, this video is alright men thumbs up very clear!

  • i'm a beginner, and these vids are usefull but it was better if you told me the strings to pull in sequence or had a tab bar within . Because i am confused of which i would pick

  • i've been watching Justin for about 3-4 years, and i would have never gotten to where i am now guitar-wise if it weren't for Justin Sandercoe, best guitar lessons and guitar teacher i know of, so naturally this video is great too ;P

  • Yes Justin, we obey! D:

  • can i make a request?

    Angels Wings by Social Distorion

    Or Beat It w/o solo

  • Your fretboard is dirty ;)

  • Ever heard of Destine?

Great band, just as great as you are!

  • im still on his beginner course but i really am hoping that someday i'll learn this song by heart... im just gonna go crash course on the intro... sounds so wicked and he teaches it so clearly and simply...

  • This guy a the best tutor on youtube !

  • @quainhankid14 he's cool man... but so is Marty Schwartz :D

  • @nolifepro14 why did u say i'm retarded?

  • Well,I'm shit at this.

  • hey, nice lesson..is it possible to play it on acoustic?

  • @karimmmu Yes it is possible, but in the part where he's plucking both thinnest strings I just pluck the thinnest one instead.

  • Thank you so much for this!! I've looked at so many videos on how to play this song, and this is one is, by far, the most clear on how to play it. Thanks again, and keep it up man!

  • can you post a guitar lesson to the freebird solo please!

  • 9:48, nice trick, jimmy page used to do that

  • These videos are so clear to see and follow

  • i cant understand what he does at the very end of the lesson with the neck that gets that cool ending sound? maybe there are lessons on this trick, i dont know hot to call it...

  • @bumbumeris What do you mean, do you mean the natural harmonics @ 7:17?

  • @JulesVermeij Nevermind, i find the way :) sorry for my english...

  • everytime i look at one of your lessons i always say fuck it and dont watch them...i go and learn something by ear cause thats what you always say..and i just spent 4 hours tabbing and learning the soul to squeeze solo live in poland and its cause of you man thank you..You're my boy blue !!

  • can you tell me amp settings for this song

  • Ahhh Justin.. I was waiting for that lesson and you did it !!! Great !

    Thanks so much !

Love from France, you're the best teacher ever !

    XX Nath

  • can you use a pick or just finger picking?

  • @andreah53 you can use a pick, but it is much easier with fingerpicking :)

  • @andreah53 you need to play with your fingers!!!

  • JUSTIN THANK YOU, THIS IS THE FIRST SONG I EVER WANTED TO PLAY, THIS IS THE DREM OF MY LIFE, YOU ARE MY HERO!

  • Awsome as usual....but justin...don't you cut your nails? :)

  • @Montaro1983 It's for playing classical guitar/fingerpicking pieces with your fingers i would assume

  • @Montaro1983 well you need that nails to play songs like this

is like you have 5 picks

  • @SebaChannel okay, well read that Justin uses acryl finger nails and that all profeesionals that plays guitar have that

  • very good lesson ! :-D It would be super awesome if you could do more ballads from Metallica, like Bleeding me and The day that never comes :-) Thank you !!

  • JUSTIN THE MAN!

  • Dude! I was just listening to this song about 10 minutes ago and was thinking it would be great if you put a tut. You da man! Keep up the good work!!

  • Those 2 Dis-likes are just stupid -.-

  • @TakoroMisashi now 11 fucking 11 people dislike this video just because they cant play this

  • You're a great teacher! Keeping it simple and not to fast^^, I've learned a lot of songs from looking at your videos, great job:)!

  • Awesome video like usually Justin. At 3.08 when u r wandering if it is a 7 hammer on 8 and then slide to 5 the official tab that i bought indeed says a slide, however ur way sounds more like the record :)

  • Actually James played this with fingerpicking on the record, although he uses a pick live. He mentions it in the dvd of making of the Black Album

  • To hear Justin praising and and breaking down guitar compositions of Metallica really makes me happy. Too often I've heard people saying that big metal bands can't really play good music, but this underlines they have test and musical abilities.

  • I can now play this thanks to you

  • i'll be the first to admit, i'm not a big Metallica fan, but playing their material on guitar is so satisfying. if you're not a fan of Metallica for whatever reason, or if you're like me, think they're overrated, you should still shed some sort of respect for them - no matter what. because their guitar pieces are inspiring and somewhat beautiful in the outlook of musical art.

  • @aidenmccloskey I agree. My husband loves Metallica and I never really liked them, but after playing (or attempting to play!) several of their songs on guitar, I have a greater appreciation for the difficulty and beauty of their work. Makes me judge other musicians that have as much fame a little more harshly! :-)

  • That must be the most epic t shirt on earth

  • cheers justin!!!

  • Cool, is that Hot Rod 52 Tele?

  • Great video as always!!!!!Justin can I make a request!!! HIPPY HIPPY SHAKE!!!! PLease

  • i need part 2 two live!

  • It was about time you did this great song! I've already mastered this song to the full 100 % but if I had your lessons I would have mastered it way earlier. It's a great tune, lot's of variety and the solo is even good to do for beginners who want to learn an awesome solo.

  • This is very good Justin.

    Thank to you.

  • 304 viewers thumbs up!

  • the tatto is of a sperm!

  • I was JUST starting to learn this song for the first time before you posted this. Thanks for another great video :)

  • Thanks!! Looking forward to the rest of the song.

  • Cool, Im missing a bunch of stuff in the intro.

  • whats that tatoo in your arm? oO

  • @stevens144 Broken Arrow?

  • @stevens144 It's a broken arrow.

  • Is that a Fender Nocaster? I don't see anything other than Fender on the Head.

  • @Commiteee That's his telecaster

  • @Commiteee I guess it's a telecaster

  • @qwerty09121209 It might be but what I meant is Fender made a guitar called the "Broadcaster" but was sued by Gretsch because they had a drumset line with thew same name. So, I assume Fender didn't want to waste all the guitars they has and sold them off with the name Nocaster. They had to peel the name off so the Nocasters just had plain headstocks and that's what made me wonder if he was using one.

  • @Commiteee Ohh ohkay. i think he mentioned it was a Telecaster, in one of his other lessons.

    Anyways, I may be wrong.

    Cheers
