ok not the greatest fence ever, but you do need to get inventive sometimes when you can't spend thousands on jumps- whoever suggested feed buckets is brilliant. you can also wrap jump cups around a fence so the pole can still roll but you dont have to pay for a standard.
and haven't well all done something dumb at one point or another?
i would suggest using boots or polos- polos would have protected his legs from scratches and absorbed some of the impact.
Because THATS safe... Lets throw lawn chairs and poles together to make a jump. Really, think of the horse's safety first and your own experiments second.
I think he saw it as a "bounce" jump because if you notice he steps between it then tries to jump the last pole. It's very dangerous to put poles in the fence like that, please be careful I'm glad he's ok. You're very lucky he didn't hurt himself
this happened to my friend's horse. the horse thought it was a bounce, stepped in between, flipped over onto his rider, and broke his neck. luckily the rider wasn't seriously injured.
WOW y would you risk your horses health with a shody home made jump like that its totaly unsafe the fact that it didnt fall easy means it could of seriously injured your horse n i like the way even tho you knew he was on the wrong leg you still made him jump and laughed at the end pa you must realy love your horse !
@1mLovin1ttt mmm mate you do realise thats were some of the best riders in the world start off jumping home made jumps not everyone in the world can offord jump posts so they dont bother seriously prissy pony clubber much
Damn!! That really looked like it hurt. Glad he is ok. Well, he is standing relaxed at the end like he is saying: I told you I didn't want to jump, now put me back with my friends ;)
Haha, my favourite pony does that too sometimes. Only she goes around teh jump. The thing is that she really goes forward to the jump all excited and stuff and I am thinking, Yes, we are going to fly!! ;) and then suddenly, right before the jump she turns right or left!! Good thing I have a good balance on a horse :p

The horse isn't lazy, YOU are for not using your brain to make a real jump. You're lucky he didn't really hurt himself.

you probably shouldnt use a plastic chair you should just stick with a log and 2 buckets on both sides lol no offence
