My two germanium FF's sound good into cleaner amps,more smooth than my early 90's silicon FF,which sounded splattery and lousy quite frankly...**until** I ran it(fuzz set low,gain high) into some moderate tube overdrive and wow.In that setup the silicon sound was fatter and more complex than the germaniums,which were a bit too polite running into tube overdrive.

That really depends on the type of wah you are using. The RMC wahs have buffers in them to stop the oscillation you're referring to. The MXR 108 fuzz actually puts a buffer in their pedal to be used with any wah

PGS.

Interesting. I really like the tone of my wah but was never able to use it in front of my Fuzz Face because of the input impedance of fuzz faces is too low. So what I did is built a simple buffer and placed it at the output of my wah. Problem solved. Non the less. I did not liked the wah before Fuzz tone,

I take that back about the brightness -- the pedal seems set to a brightness similar to the YouTube demos of traditional, non-tone control-equipped silicon fuzzes.
