Im an American, and I recall Batman Begins having a nonexistant advertising campaign when it was released in the theaters in 2005. It's almost as though Time Warner had no faith in the film and paid no mind in the marketing. The film did well both critically and commercially, but imagine how much money it would have made had it been given a more aggressive marketing campaign like Star Wars Episode 3.
