  • same here....my eyes are still staring to the tank.....waiting.......

  • wheres the BOOM???

  • And why the hell arent you shooting at it????? jeeeeeeeeeeeeez!

  • They evacuated a one mile radius, and yet your standing a couple hundred feet away?? doesnt seem very safe to me. lol

  • I hate two things of this world war and your video

  • You got some balls standing there dude...

  • son of a bitch!!

  • reminds me of blazin blunts like theres no tommorow

  • FUCK YOU

  • Dammit, Dale!! I TOLD you to be careful with those cigaretts!! Wanna beer?

  • that look like a joint! ..legalize weed!!!

  • Hank Hill would strangle you if he saw the way you spelled "PROPANE."

  • @lHustonProductionsl Check out the video I mentioned and you'll see very clearly that propane tanks explode and that propane is explosive. The tank explodes from pressure and then you get an instant fuel air bomb. Technically it's two explosions first from boiling pressure and then from combustion. If you had a bigger fire and didn't shoot the tank you would have gotten a very big explosion. I'm not so sure you really want to understand what actually happening so this will be my final comment.

  • @lHustonProductionsl With all due respect, I must disagree with your belief that a propane tank will not explode. Propane safety classes teach otherwise. If this tank had exploded it could have seriously injured him or worse. Check out the explosion on this much smaller tank. Just search YouTube for a video titled "BLEVE (Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion) Demonstration - How it Happens Training Video". Peace out.

  • @lHustonProductionsl What you say is true, but one must also note that almost all fuel tank explosions are not from internal combustion but from rupture of the tank under extreme pressure as the liquid inside boils from external heating. If the tank is being heated at a rate such that the pressure builds faster than it can be vented then you get eventually get an explosion. This guy either knew exactly what was going on in terms of tank PSI or was very stupid to be this close. I think the 2nd.

  • Put some snow on it

  • Im having a big party next weekend, can i use it as a BBQ ? If so how much per hour ?

  • If that tank did blow up, this video would not exist.

  • If everyone was evacuated for a mile around, how were you so close? That fire could have been put out. And who ever maintains the hydrants need to do a better job so they don't freeze.

  • @ffjsb Yes, it could have been put out. Then, you would have a huge propane cloud looking for an ignition source. That would have resulted in a tremendously powerful vapor explosion. Sometimes, it's better to evacuate and let it burn.

  • @PoppaBlue59 Well along with putting it out, shutting off the valves are a given. If you can't shut off the leak, yes, you have to let it burn.

  • BLEVE, anyone?

  • I'm still waiting for the fireball

  • gallons? You cant measure a gas in gallon form.

  • @2204Alpha You must be special or something

  • @2204Alpha Actually since in a tank like this the propane is in a LIQUID form, it is measured in gallons. I have a 120 gallon bulk tank that I use to fuel my cook stove in my house.

  • Skip to 1:22 for the good part

  • i was there as A C.A.P. responder evacuating people for actually 1 1/2 miles around it

  • Thanks for capturing this video... Can I use it as part of my Fire Department training program?

I teach for Westfield, IN Fire Department as well as the Indiana Propane Gas Association.

  • yes you can use it.. have fun

  • @wwwwbrianspdrcom So did it ever actually blow, or just burn through the hole as it expanded out?

  • @goattke it never actually blowed, (thankfully) but it was pretty dangerous i could see it from over a mile away

  • wasent very exiting...

  • That is what I thought. Untill I realized that I was looking at a 35,000 gallon Propane tank about to blow up!
