The cars were licensed in all the tokyo xtreme racer series, however in the first two games the cars were called by their chassis numbers.

@ratmphan Not really. It's crappy, and somehow fun. Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero is MUCH better because of its lack of sound glitches, and variety of cars. Although Zero has little room for any personalization other than the color of your car, which is expensive, Several pages of rims, and a small sticker in pre-scripted locations

@ratmphan Actually TXR is the first illegal street racing franchise. Midnight Club is the 2nd and NFS joined the style around 2003.

TXR/Import Tuner Challenge is about highway racing and TXR Drift is about Touge racing.

For those saying this game is basically "Wangan Midnight", you are slightly right. The leaders cars include Blackbird, Akuma Z, etc - But in the end, this game is far better than WM for PS3 (I own both) simply because it more accurately depicts C1 Loop, and Kanjo express. Also, in this, you have the ability to customize your car, where as in WM you cannot. This is coming from a guy who grew up with a friends father who was in the real Mid Night Club.. This game is very accurate.

The driving wasn't that bad, but your driving technique sucks. Even with Speedking, I wasn't pulling all kinds of dirty bullshit blocking moves. It was all about tuning your car to win, and pass Speedking with as little xp possible and win the race.

Giving this game a bit more Justice. Reason why this, you call it is crap... Imagine the speeds you're going through in real life. This is the closest simulation to Gran Turismo you'll get. Yes, it has the Wangan Midnight feel (actually you can recreate Wangan Midnight here) but the point is... the best games for a console is sadly the MOST underrated one so don't diss this game if you haven't played it to the full yet. I did and I loved it. Every single moment of it!!

Actually I can handle my car very well, I even learned how to drift corners; Breaks are very important. . This is probably my favorite racing game. I still play it just to cruise the highways, and I love how the roads are an exact replica of the actual highways of Japan.

This game has deeper tuning than Gran Turismo and you can't put neons, hydraulics, spinners nor a widebody on your car. Pretty much every single tuning part makes a difference in your car, even the bodykits. When GT has realistic driving and Midnight Club realistic difficoulty, this game has realistic tuning.

This game isn't Ricer, it's JDM.

Like when you reach 1246 miles you can swap your engine and you get few different choices. Most people choose the V8 engine swap, but it isn't always the best choice.

The cars control like bricks, which is very understandable if your car is at high speed and the tires have worn out. Try making a sharp turn at 100km/h with worn out tires in real life.

@LoneStarBoy713 non car people have NO clue about chassis codes (hence why the reviewer had no idea what the numbers + letters meant)...i run a clothing line called DorkiDori Clothing that feature imports on them and in order to market my shirts, i have to use chassis codes to keep from infringing on trademark laws...tokyo extreme series did the same thing before Tokyo 3 (i was a huge fan of the series up until 3...3 was CRAP)

I really loved the 3 Tokyo Xtreme Racer Reviews but you missed the best one (in my opinion) the Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero, its a remake of the second one... but really well made... the trafic isnt just city officials like the third one (lots of differente traffic), it got a better view range, an exellent sence of speed, its a lot faster than the dreamcast version, and the handling its a bit better i think, but dont xpect much of the graffics... please if you can you must review this game...

I did the impossible then because i defeated the last boss, you however have to beat a car and then a boss challenges you, then a second, then the final. Choosing where to race is the key and having lots of SP for the Final boss is a must. I used a R34 Nissan Skyline.

Hey man, you can finish tokyo extreme racer 3 i did, you have to beat all wanderes...but heres the tricky part... you have to have "certain" parts on your car for wanderes to appear out of no where, Like a certain rim, certain liscence plate number, or for example being in a old mazda while it's raining ...and so on, Theres a active guide and forum on people who finished this game..

Also if you check the rivals profile gives you a clue to what you need to do for your car so you can race them.

You cannot race the wanderer Whirlwind Fanfare in the NA version and you need to defeat her to race the last boss. When the game was localized, they changed the currency to dollars, but the wanderers that required a certain amount of money to race still have the Yen amounts, which is one more digit than the NA version goes up to. I had to buy a codebreaker to race that one wanderer.

If you have, then you would know that almost no starter car can flat out out-run Dejected Angel (that white Silvia), especially if you start out in Tokyo (like he obviously did.) Now, if he was using an upgraded WRX STi with parts unlocked later in the game, then he could out-run the Silvia, easily.
