Go-bars only: good. When I built my harpsichord decades ago from a Hubbard kit, following Hubbard's directions I glued the 4' hitchpin rail to the soundboard first. I see here that it was instead installed into the case and the soundboard gluedinto it. I wonder what is the advantage of doing so.
Also, in the film, there is a plank that runs accross the middle of the frame. It looks like the soundboard is glued to this as well as the edges of the frame. Please excuse my terminology if its incorrect. My question is, is this a "hitchpin" rail? I thought both the cutoff bar and any hitchpin rails would be glued directly to the soundboard and left free of the frame.
Concerning the nuts and the bridges, is there a difference in the final sound of the instrument if the nuts and/or bridges are "bent" into shape as opposed to cutting them out all things being even?
Almost a great video. To bad your camera operator didn't pan back to show the top of the gobar table. Wait, I'm from South Louisiana: it's geaux bar table ..... Anyway, good video!

Indeed a great video!
A no-nonsense video, describing a real-time go-bar deck sound board gluing - in an 100% prepared process!
Illustrates just what it involves, the perfect timing of it - and the luxury of a team of four people, knowing exactly what to do....
Perfect for those in the process of building a kit harpsichord for the first time - taking the fear out of a dreaded process!
