skillet is a christian band they are all christians...they arent a worship christian band they are a band that sings about everyday problems in life and struggles that people go through...but when john writes the songs he writes them from a christian perspective and gives it a christian meaning but everyone can relate

Well actually, the guitar he's using here is a discontinued brand called GMP. Same with Korey's pink ones with the stars. NOW they use PRS guitars.

John also used GMP basses before he switched to Traben.

gotta say this guy has some skill...I have listened to every album of Skillet's (my favorite band) and honestly I didn't care for the new stuff, except for the first time I got really what their guitarist could do. Kasica is very good on guitar, just that most of skillet's song don't let him show it (at least not the older ones).

Saying 1 guitarist is better than another isn't really fair. Everybody has an opinion on what sounds amazing, that's why there's so much of a variety in music nowadays. Personally, I like this type of stuff, and I bet Kasica will do a lot of 'amazing' stuff like this in the future.

Ben has alot of talent, but he has some issues to sort out which only come from experience.

He can blaze across the strings, but his note choice isn't up to speed with his playing. His wah technique is boring, you know, stuff like that.

But other than that, Ben may be the best guitarist in a Christian band.

Well, Synyster's style is kind of sterile and bland. Really nothing too special.

Typical sweeps, tapping, and he has bad note choice.

Atleast Ben has halfway decent note choice and a good palm mute technique.

Plus, synyster's image/band stinks (no offense). A7X is incredibly weak metal, and is really more just pop-punk with alot of distortion and screams. Synyster looks like an emo all the time too.

Skillet has a well defined industrial sound, and they have great skills all around.

remember, people like idfferent syles of playing, so to you, u like ben's actual feel of the guitar styleness(i dont really know how to define it) and i like the more technical styles that are speed(he's not really the fastest, but he soudns good to me) and a7x is just like a some distant kind of rock, but i like them, and who cares what syn looks like, how he plays should matter, and i like skillet too, but i dont like how focused on god or relationships they are, just my opinion

It's just, Syn's appearance really doesn't match his style of music. He looks like something out of MCR but he's in a modern "metal" band.

Aside from that, I sure hope Ben gets to working on his skills a bit more. He's great, but he seems to be stagnant in his playing skill. Hopefully he'll get around to beefing up his skills soon.

yea syns a great guitarist, but this guy is a completely different style. and besides this is actually on par with some of syn's stuff- especially since he doesn't play this stuff in all of his songs every night of his life. he should do this on some songs tho, i agree some of his recorded solos are somewhat choppy and amateurish sounding, but he is amazingly skillful and underrated.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion! Personally i think that technically be seems a pretty good player, but there is more to the guitar than playing as fast as possible. To be a truely great player is when you grow out of that phase and actually start producing strong melodies. Ben kasica seems to have some melodic phrasing in his fast playing, but it's not really for me. I like the way he uses the wha pedal tho!
