@SarahsCreations Yeah,you do. some people keep the soft canes until they use it and store it and others bake a few minutes so its hard but still cuttable and and cut it will a blade

omg! thank you so much!!! i was looking for a good tutorial on watermelon for SUCH A LONG TIME!!!! what i herd is that after you make a cane (of any kind) you back it at the normal temperature for your brand of clay but only for 5 minuets. that way it you will still be able to slice it but it wont smear or smush when you cut it and it wont loose any of its shape :D

@gwansheilakiid hey, I know your asking Garden Of Imagination but i thought I would tell you. The price of clay depends on the brand in America. The cheapest I've seen it is .99 cents for 2 oz. But the brands I usually buy are fimo, and sculpey which are around 1 dollar or 2.

@gwansheilakiid Here in Canada it's 3.50 for a block of Sculpey. There is a cheaper brand I just bought today that I have yet to try and it was 2.49 so I am not sure if this is a good price yet. Fimo is more expensive than either and is about...3.70 a block I think . But I also think you get more in a block of Fimo. But it's a pain to get it soft whereas the Sculpey is already soft!

The fimo over here is €2.60 over here for a really tiny block of it, but it lasts, ya know? I'm only learning to make fimo canes and the first time i tried they turned out like hard so I haven't tried since, just buy them now :)

Fimo, Sculpey.. they are both the same thing. It's actually called polymer clay, the name Fimo or Sculpey is just the brand name for the clays. So yes, you can use Sculpey as it is also a polymer clay. Cheers!
