Hugh Jackman is Australian. He was on Broadway in The Boy From Oz. He also did a lot of musicals in Australia. This scene sounds great, but the set is so odd. It looks like it in the middle of the Dust Bowl during the Depression, instead of the green corn fields of Oklahoma.

The woman in green (marueen lipman i think) is SUPERB. Hugh Jackman is a mess. Unconvincing and a total ham. Why is everyone sitting down during this song for the first part? To highlight Jackman's haminess?The production goes in for "authenticity," but the nature of the song completely works against any attempt at authenticity. This is that musical number where everyone naturally gets up and starts singing. This version is full of bathos. Difficult to bore with this number, but somehow they do
