  • i soo remember this when i was younger!

  • This was performed in London? Wow. I can't believe that Hugh Jackman was in this play, and did such a great job. He's amazing.

  • superb remarker 1955 up to 1998

  • Hugh Jackman is the best song and danc man ever!

  • sweet jeebus ♥ =O

  • holly COW

  • wolverine the musical . . . it needs to happen . . they already have spider man, so why not x-men? lolz

  • TWO SIDES!

  • Yoglahoma ;)

  • Hugh should star in a revival of Oklahoma on Broadway and then Carousel, my god what a talent.

  • Jean Valjean in the 2012 movie Les Miserables. so excited!!

  • @KyleOgilvie1 omg yes hes gonna be a great jean valjean the only thing thats going to ruin that movie is taylor swift as eponine

  • @sammie1918 im trying to keep an open mind, but other than her and russel crowe, the casting is perfect. Aaron tveit (perfect human), Anne HAthaway, Helena Bonham carter, amanda seyfried, sasha baron cohen. perfect casting.

  • I tell all my friends about this video. I say, "You know Wolverine? Well check this out!" They never believe me until they actually look. : )

  • Didn't know Maureen Lipman could sing!

  • the Wolverine can sure belt out an incredible song :)

  • why why why.......... fuckin tripple threat

  • Hugh Jackman, making Australia proud! Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!

  • @ginge24601 Please don't do that.

  • @SoreNitchy I think the aussies should be allowed to chant on youtube if theyd like after all they are right he is doing aussie proud

  • Great song

  • This is ACTUALLY what life is like in Oklahoma..

here in Tulsa we sing this at neighborhood hootenannies until midnight!

  • @grasscracktheband as a tulsan i kinda would enjoy that

  • @grasscracktheband Gotta love our great state ;) can't say it's quite the same here in the 405. :P

  • @grasscracktheband I haven't seen any.

  • @grasscracktheband Then you go out and beat up some redskins, right?

  • THE SEMINOLES ARE GOING TO STOMP THAT ASS

  • lol press 8 lots

  • wow

  • I'm always surprised there are still people that have no idea Hugh's a song-and-dance man. He's never been shy about it.

  • Hugh Jackman isn't english !!! he is from australia !!!

i do love this production but it is three hours long !!!

  • wtf wolverine?!?!

  • @hawkermana132 He was a wonderful singer and played an active role in the musical blitz before he went in to film X-men (:

  • @hurriwind haha, its so hard to watch him act the way he does in the x-men films now that ive seen this xD

  • @hawkermana132 same reaction...NEVER would've guessed

  • @hawkermana132 This is how Hugh Jackman started out, doing some Broadway He's very talented indeed Love Hugh Jackman!

  • what the fuck

  • i bet ya thats not actually him singing!!

  • @951blossom Of course it's him singing.

  • @951blossom Of course it is! You've obviously never heard him talk (in a film other than x-men) if that's the case. Can't say lip synching is something they do all that much on broadway ;-p

  • @951blossom Um, actually, he is. This is a stage production, you can't really dub voices in real life.

  • @IHeartKatieLee This is not actually live, but filmed on a sound stage after the production had finished its run. It's made to emulate the experience of live theater, and does a great job I think!

  • hahaha. LAWTON OKLAHOMA, BIATCHESS!!!!

  • i still member the word to lol

  • me and my class mates did this play i was the wife

  • I love hugh jackman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • geeez the harmonies are insane

  • Hugh Jackman is Australian. He was on Broadway in The Boy From Oz. He also did a lot of musicals in Australia. This scene sounds great, but the set is so odd. It looks like it in the middle of the Dust Bowl during the Depression, instead of the green corn fields of Oklahoma.

  • @auditionmd

Don't know where they are at this point, but they are talking about moving to the great new state of Oklhaoma (which, I'm guessing, at this point in time would not have had a whole lot of corn fields, green or otherwise)

  • I am a proud Oklahoman. :) OKLAHOMA! OK! <3

  • Cheers, Bert.

  • Did you see him at last night's TONY'S??? He's so handsome and talented.....loved his bit with Neil Patrick Harris...got to be pretty talented to be on the live stage with NPH.......

  • My father-in-law worked for an American company in Tehran, Iran back in 1972 when we were first married. We had the privledge of going to Tehran in 1972 and I met an Iranian physcian and his lovely wife. When I told them I was a native Oklahoman, they broke into song. How wonderful it is to know that the place you love and consider your home (despite living in 8 states and 3 countries) has such a profound effect on other cultures. We have so much to proud of......

  • Haha I love how he says, "YO!!" instead of yow :D

    it's funny!

  • Being an OKIE.....thank you Hugh.......

  • Jackman is OK, but nothing ever tops Gordon MacRae's performance in this role.

  • Comment removed

  • hugh jackman is not british, he is australian

  • I am a big Rogers and Hammerstein fan and this is a great show. I saw the HARTT SCHOOL OF MUSIC in Connecticut put on a performece of OKLAHOMA back in March and it was great.

  • ooOoooookalhoma hooray ;) x

  • Can't stand it at 2:02 where Hugh sings slightly behind the beat, it really doesn't fit well

  • @xSLACKERZx yeah, it's not in the pocket, but it's musical theater. There's always a level of freedom , since musical performance is a secondary factor, If his vocal talent went beyond these limits, he would be famous as a singer.

  • hey friznap993 - thats cause Hugh Jackman isnt british - his an Aussie - Sydney Australia :)

  • ohh Hugh, you can sing, act and you're built like a Greek God - if only all men were like this. Total DREAM man!!!

  • I wish i saw Oklahoma.

  • LOL!!! i will never look at Hugh Jackman the same! i was hooked on him as Wolverine because of my son but i will never see him in the same light!!!!

  • no, im pretty sure it isnt riker.

  • I didnt say that! I need therapy? I didnt say that! What could I possibly need a therapist for? I dont kn-. Youre the doctor, tell me! I dont know... uh, inability to finish things? I always finish things! Walking into things you cant quite commit to? Commitment? You asked me! No! You asked me! No that is bullshitt! Look, I may have walked out but at least I showed up in the first place! Theres a whole road to this.. You have no idea what being married means!

  • She work at the station is that where you met her? I dont wanna fight. Im not fighting Im talking. I dont wanna fight... Shes nice. Ha! Uh oh shes not nice? I know what she meant. You do? Yes, so dont, dont do this! Ok Im making an extremely civilized conversation, youre biting my head off, jesus. Yes, shes very nice, no she does not work at the station shes a... shes a therapist. Oh, yours? Chirst you couldnt resist it, Im not syaing you need therapy, wait wait wait I need therapy?

  • OMG!! Chills :D

  • do you have the fight between Curly and Jud?

  • they're Brits?

    wow, they're pree good.

  • The only state in the Union where the state song comes from a Rodgers and Hammerstein musical. -_-;

  • love this song <3

  • Yes Oklahoma is OK it is better than OK ! I love my home ! Inless its a dry spell or a tornado outbreak

  • wolverine was in Oklahoma? I respect him more even though i hate the musical.

  • @Gl3nQuagmire Storm: "Oh Logan! Galactus is attacking and we've lost all our powers! Whatever will we do?" Wolverine: Gimme a minit ta think kid...I got it! We'll put on a musical!

  • Got to give it to the Brits. Can barely tell they are British.

  • @friznap993

    Hugh Jackman is Australian lol.

  • @friznap993 Plus, uh, one of 'em's an Aussie... :)

  • @friznap993 Hugh Jackman's Australian.

  • @friznap993 other than Jackman.. Aussie.

  • @friznap993 no wonder u couldnt tell hes british. cos hes australian.....

  • @LastOfTheAmericanGrl He meant everyone else. This is from the international cast, most of whom were British. If I remember correctly, the guy who played Jud Fry was the only lead to be part of the American cast.

  • @ghostCW3 ok, that makes more sense!!

  • @friznap993 The English cockney accent is actually VERY close to the American Southern accent.

  • @friznap993 He's Austrailain.

  • @friznap993 Actually, Hugh Jackman is Australian, in case that's whom you were referring to.

  • @friznap993 Part of that is probably due to the fact that Hugh Jackman isn't British....

  • oklahoma ok

  • just randomly came around this AHAHAAHA this is great XD

  • It's impossible not to love this! Oklahoman or not, I'm loving it! Oklahoma! I love it!

  • WOLVERIIIIINNE!!!!

  • holy shit, you could stick your hand in between jackman's vibrato O_O

  • Hugh Jackman is spectacular. Absolutely amazing!!!

  • sang this for a camp production...the 6 different parts were to hard to work out...kudos to the actors~

  • @mklovesbeauty lucky you! that's the most beautiful song in the show

  • Hugh Jackman can't sing.

  • HOly shit! Is that William T Riker second from the right at 2:43?

  • @Aassymcass That is what I thought the first time I watched this video. I thought I was just seeing things, but it may well be!

  • God, how am I to be Eller???

  • Wolverine can howl somehing sweet!

  • The woman in green (marueen lipman i think) is SUPERB. Hugh Jackman is a mess. Unconvincing and a total ham. Why is everyone sitting down during this song for the first part? To highlight Jackman's haminess? The production goes in for "authenticity," but the nature of the song completely works against any attempt at authenticity. This is that musical number where everyone naturally gets up and starts singing. This version is full of bathos. Difficult to bore with this number, but somehow they do

  • WERE SINGING THIS SONG IN MUSIC CLASS

  • YEEEOOOOW

  • hugh jackman you are so sexy

  • Oh, damn. Hugh can SING.

  • Sur it's not the movie, but still Jackman is good.

  • oh my god are you kidding the 1955 oklahoma is 100 times better

  • who know hugh could sing like that?!?!?

  • a play showing the good ol' days---a day when all the trash we've got now wasn't ruining our country from he whitehouse on down!!!!!!!!!

  • all the girls are watching this video with one thought: "DAMN why am I NOT in the wedding dress getting married to Hugh Jackman??!!"

  • Hugh Jackman was amazing in this 1998 revial! If there is another revival of Oklahoma, Matthew Morrison from Glee should be Curly.

  • ...what a shame. he was such a cheery guy before he was in the Xmen

  • I love Hugh Jackman, but check out the 1979 Broadway revival here on utube--there is no comparison. Laurence Guittard and Christine Andreas are far superior and the chemistry between them is amazing. Honest; you'll love it even more!

  • I am doing the show!!! In febuary 2011!!!! Letchworth Plinston Hall!!! Young Arcadians!!!

  • Shavin or Gruff. Singing or busting heads. Hugh is fucking amazing. Sigh why can't their be more men out there like him? and if there are where can I find him?

  • We're doing this musical at my high school.

I'm only grade 9, and I got the part of Curly!

This is by far, my favourite part in the musical.

  • Who knew Hugh Jackman could sing like that?!!!

  • @BCati that's what ya call multitalented.

  • @BCati i did years ago :D

  • @BCati wtfFFFF I didn't know X-men guy played this!! i SANG THIS when i was only 8!!

  • I'm in the ensemble for my school's production of Oklahoma. I'm pumped for this song!

  • I have the honor of performing as Curly in my school's upcoming production of Oklahoma.

Now, I'm not Hugh Jackman, but I've got my thumbs crossed. :P

  • So when do the claws come out

  • Wait...does he say "titty" at 2:09 ?

  • @ratchet1215 Ahahaha. No! He's saying "yippee" I think. Like "yippee kai yay" or whatever it is. . . haha. (:

  • @bunnyisblue It's in between the yippies. It definitely sounds like "titty."

  • @ratchet1215 Wait! :O . . .I know what your talking about now. . . it does sound like titty but. . . what? I don't understand??? Haha. . .kay. . . ????

  • VOTE NO!!! QUESTION 744

  • @hearsay683

Whenever I hear Jackman sing from Oklahoma or Carosel or other classic American Musicals, you know what I think of???

John Raitt, Howard Keel, Robert Goulet, and Gordon MacRae--I think you get the message.

  • @RPenta I prefer Gordon's voice on the song. Much bigger impact on the first "Oooook! lahoma!"

  • Hugh Jackman does such a great job. He's just full of talent. :-)

  • Reminds me of Richard Stone (composer for Animaniacs)

  • I got a boner.

  • HOLY WARBLING WOLVERINE BATMAN!!!!!!!!! WOW!!! NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT HUGH JACKMAN HAD A VOICE LIKE THAT!!!! BRAVO!!!

  • @elrasa3 He was first known in Australia as a musical star. He was Joe in Sunset Blvd. I saw him on opening night. he was also Gaston in Beauty and the Beast.

  • Ahhh, I am in love.

  • thumbs up if MSS sent you here

  • I gotta admit, it's pretty hilarious to listen to these Brits try to pull off a Southern accent. close, but no cigar....especially Hugh Jackman.

  • @JordanSimpkins

    He's Australian, not British!

  • @JordanSimpkins Hugh Jackman is Australian!

  • That was great,i'm gonna buy the dvd

  • Comment removed

  • hahahahhahahahahha.

  • HOLY HUGH JACKMAN!!! HE SINGS TOO!!! *dies*

  • buying this!:)

  • Pretty bad singing compared to what I'm used to but if it's actually Jackman singing (which I'm not sure of) then I'm actually impressed.

  • @VinylToVideo it is Hugh Jackman singing, he started off singing in musical theatre before he got into other forms of acting!!!

  • @swinnie16 And I can see (more like hear) why.

  • I had no clue wolverine sung my state song!!!!

  • I like this song and listen almost everyday! It is marvelous!

  • Hugh singing my state's song! Imagine that. Oklahoma is Okay!

  • I had absolutely no idea that Jackman has a good singing voice. I'm quite impressed by this production - it has the exhuberant joie de vivre of the original.

  • how delicious if hugh jackmans voice? mm yum!

  • this is good musical

  • 0:38 - 0:41 LOL

  • Way to be Wolverine! Wow, he actually has a great voice! Host the academy awards again, Jackman!

  • I'm in a class with 3 other guys. New York, Ohio, Oklahoma and I'm from Texas. Every time Oklahoma is mentioned, the New Yorker sings the part of, "OOOOOOK-lahoma where the wind..... ". The Oklahoma guy gets pissed. I laugh every time. Had to come find this.

  • Great show!

  • im dancing to this song in my dance...and we are dressed like dorthy!!! lol

  • His accent is so fake. hahaha

  • @Rogue10792 No duh, he is a ausie, acting in a Britt theater, playing a Okie

  • FANTASTIC! I am anxiously awaiting delivery of the DVD of this musical today! I love this. I am a huge fan of the original version and I do think nobody can sing Curly like Gordon MacRae but Hugh Jackson is a close second and I know I will love it.

  • @tamarexxe I think Hugh does the role justice I would love to see the whole thing. lol I'm just broke now so i can't buy it yet.

  • Love the bit where the lady tugs at the gent as if saying-Sit down Pa !

  • first time I saw this I was like why the heck are a bunch of Brits doing R&H.. then of course I saw the whole production and loved it. Especially Hugh.. His so damn versitile and so damn fine.

  • lol. I feel horrible. I don't know more than about 2 Verses to this song. and I've lived in Oklahoma for 22 years.. *My whole damn life.*.

  • @Hondasrock87 Hahaha! I go to UT and I know every word.

  • Is there video of the "Say We're In Love" reprise with the proposal from this production up on YouTube? And if not, could you please put it up? I'm DYING to see it... thank you!

  • Hahahah, I love Ado Annie crawling out with the bouquet...
