Bear in mind that some of these extra-long trains (the best looking ones, anyway) require a great deal of patience to assemble. Sometimes years of waiting for the right loco and right cars to be released across multiple catalogs, buying one or two pieces at a time every year till one day you notice that you have enough to be presentable. For example, the next passenger train I post was bought over a timeframe of something like ten years.

Black smoke has been debated on the OGR Forum from time to time. The folks who know how the stuff works say any model smoke unit that could put out black smoke would be a health hazard, since it would require actual combustion (rather than vaporization, which is how current smoke units work).
