Thank god I'm in Brazil ㅠㅠ

  • I caught one a long time ago and kept it in a jar of water for like a year cause it was strange looking! Funny thing is it would die and ice would revive it?? Weird!

  • @carl7707 It sounds like they make the grasshopper seek water... That's why it looked sick - and I stepped on it. They don't infect humans, although in Asia, or certain MTV prankster shows, I'm sure they might find a way to eat it... BTW how does anyone know that they don't infect humans? Did someone have to eat one to find out?!

  • @carl7707 ???

  • they are mostly in grasshoppers and crickets and are everywhere.. they make the insects drown themselves so that they can escape into the water to find a mate... it creepy.. but a way of life i guess..weird

  • these thing are harmless ti humands they only

live in bugs what hapends is there eggs are wvery ware mostly in damp spots and bugs comes wat the egg and it haytch inside the bug or bug eats another bug with the thing in it nd now the bug has it too.very to 0 a human would every have one inside them or animals. they also live in mud puttles horse hair worm name.

  • I think all living organism have parasite...

we humans have "natural worms" so when we die worms eat us... it's not maggot cause how can a fly lay an egg on a sealed chamber?right?

  • there are also botflys, tapeworms, hookworms, and other nasty things that i guess you havent e=heard about...

  • lol we dont have natural worms lol. bugs get into anything even sealed stuff it looks sealed to us to them bugs its a tight fit and done. but we do have a bacterial parasite wich lives in every human. if we dint have it we woulnd be able to absorb the nutrience we need from food. its a symbiotic realtion ship.

  • It's a live pubic hair looking for a new place to 'hang out'.

  • Where would I get a wig made out of those?

  • "wigglywig" :P

  • Where's the video of you torching it?

  • They come out of other grasshopper when they are ready to lay larva so it probably dropped some baby hairworms in that plastic container you used. I hope you didn't eat out of that :)

    Those things are gross.

  • I heard they don't harm humans..

  • its not cute when u see it comoing out frm the grasshoper/ crickket!!

  • LOL i love that last comment about getting a bunch of hairworms and making a wig, i laughed hehe.

    i love it

  • They do look like hair

  • Actually this "hairworm" is called a Nematomorpha

  • can be up to 30 feet long

  • ... inside a grasshopper?!

  • similar worm to this can be grow up to 30 feet long inside a human body thats what i learned in school NASTY u sh!t it out

  • no, you're thinking of tapeworms.

  • Oh sure, stick it in the water where it can go reproduce..

  • It got the propane torch when I was done!

  • that exactly what i wuda done, then sprayed it with mortein, and steped on it, and sprayed it again, and finaly, drive over it a couple of times.

    scary shit!!

  • with itself? o.o

  • Not as bad as headcrabs

  • wtf is that thing it looks like a living hair string. where did you find it and can it effect humans? plz reply

  • It's a Nematomorpha or hairworm. You can see the thing come out of a cricket/grasshopper on utube "alien parasites" or on wikipedia lookup Nematomorpha or hairworm. The external links on the bottom have some cool videos. When I stepped on this sick grasshopper, it came coiling out just like on utube alien parasites.

  • Yes they can harm humans, possibly kill them but not likely. You can also get them by walking bare foot in the dirt, or bitting your finger nails with dirt under them. The eggs go into your body and hatch. I'm not positive on this number but I'm pretty sure, but they can lay over 100,000 eggs a day in your body... not cool huh?

  • how the hell do u know if u got them or not!...

  • yeah i bite my nails thanks for scarying THE LIVING SHIT OUTAME!!!!! l..o..l

  • damn i used to walk barefoot outside 24/7. NEVER AGAIN! how to u know you have them and how to u get rid of them?

  • What's your source for this? I have never heard of hairworms in a human host or vector.

  • @slack2fast NO your thinking of round worms. this guy is harmless.

  • @basil044 Horsehair worms only parasitize invertebrates such as insects. To complete their life cycle, they must infect large invertebrates that are relatively long-lived. Horsehair worms are harmless to vertebrates because they cannot parasitize people, livestock, pets, and birds. They also do not infect plants. If humans ingest the worms, they may encounter some mild discomfort of the intestinal tract but infection never occurs.

  • That's wierd , in here finland nothing like that happens.

  • Finland. is. AWESOME.

  • watchin this vid makes me itch

  • sick where are u from?

  • South west Michigan - near Lake Michigan
