  • "Kat's major message is that you need to take control of your diabetes today not after you started to experience problems. Denial is not good.

Controlling your blood sugar, eating a proper diet, exercising, and controlling other systemic diseases with the help of your doctors will help prevent future complications of diabetes like blindness. Controlling these things will keep you seeing and being well for your entire long wonderful life!!!"

  • I'm sorry the video freaked you out, no not all Type 1's will go blind. I want to put your mind at ease so I contacted a physician we work with and he gave me this reply to pass along which I have included below:

  • I was diagnosed a year ago, just like you 13, and i'm really freaked out by this video. Does that mean all type 1s will eventually loose their vision or this there some way to not let it happen? My vision's not even 20-20 now so will i go blind for sure ? X.X
