@charlotteamalie I think she is an excellent musician and vocalist, as are those you mention... Remember this is a live performance, and we don't know if it is a professional recording... To me that only adds to the charm of it, but that may explain your impression.
Neshamale, listen to your neshama, dont live the path of your ancestors, dont be this child that doesnt know how to ask! Ask your questions, dont leave us, return to land of your soul neshama we are waiting for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From the heart of Yerushalaim

you are looking at one of the most talented artists of our time!! She has the soul of her father REB SHOLOMO CARLEBACH (z''l). I am proud to call her a friend. David Morgan, her pianist, is great as well.

Hers is the kind of music that reminds me of how much I hated the badly executed acoustic music of my reformed Jewish upbringing. Same w/her dad's. Boring, solemn, overly wrought, unencouraging, dull dull dull. It makes me crave Chasidic niggunim and Sephardic melismatic vocals....
awesome! return again, return again, return to the land of your soul. return again, return again, return to the land of your soul. return to who you are, return to what you are return to where you are born and reborn again return to who you are, return to what you are return to where you are born and reborn again return to who you are, return to what you are return to where you are born and reborn again
Gruber, dont do like some of the pharisees followers more of the men's law than follower of the heart of Adonai so with the measure you judge you will be judge
Beautiful rendition of Return Again, Neshama. Are you aware that this song is a descant to and translation of your father's Hashiveynu. I discovered the harmony accidently and have never heard the two sung together. My gift to you in Shlomo's name. Maybe someday we can sing the duet together. Sharon Alexander
Reb Shlomo crossed boundaries across all levels of the Jewish world. Reb Shlomo crossed boundaries across all levels of Orthodox Judaism. THere are differences with his daughter. She can not possibly cross all the same boundaries due to her femininity . A shame. Beautiful song! Return to who you are...I bet her Dad taught her Dad. I would bet he told her to be an individual person and disregard what people say.
orthdoxy doesn't exist except that G-d allows it. kol isha, the voice of a woman, is beautiful and uplifting, especially one of such extraordinary talent and spirit as Neshama Carlebach. the prohibitions are only to impede the wickedness in your heart. at a higher awareness, one can appreciate beauty in all it's forms
There's an organization with videos on Youtube called "The Awareness Center" that is defaming the reputation of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach and spreading Lashon Harah. This is especially repugnant as Shlomo is no longer with us and cannot defend his reputation from such claims. They provide no evidence of there accusations, just rumors, but their rumors have a global reach. Go to their videos on youtube by searching "The Awareness Center" rate them poorly/comment on their videos.
how about ignoring the awareness center and like organizations? an untended vine withers without the farmer ensuring proper water, fertilization, etc.
you are exactly the kind of person who is preventing the messiah from coming, as you use the disguise of religion to express your deep, unwarranted hatred against your fellow Jews. shame on you. you even being a Jew in the first place is an embarrassment to the Jewish people

Definitely off key. If you want to hear great Jewish female singers, listen to Ofra Haza, Yardena Arazi or Achinoam NIni.

If it's during a realסדר then it's a shame!!!
And her father will not be proud. He was not מחלל שבת וחג.
However if it's on a mock Seder it's nice

Dude, they don't hold the Downtown Seder on the actual days of Passover, so chill and enjoy the talent.

@grubehchazer What if this is Second Seder and the musicians are from Eretz Yisroel?
