what is this fucking garbage? Music, art, movies,it's all garbage now. Experimental my ass.Avant gard? what's avant garde about making noise and nonsense crappy loops? Humanity is going to hell, no doubt about it.To think people actually like this shit.
I don't know if I think this is very beautiful because Jónsi and Alex are such beautiful humans or because it really is beautiful. Maybe it's the same thing? But I know I like the colors very much and I appreciate uploaders broad mind, thanks for not getting angry ;)
It's all a matter of opinion. This is experimental and avant garde, at the very fringes of what we call music. I believe what Jonsi and Alex try to do in all of their music is paint a very vivid picture with only the most basic of sounds. We are used to lyrics over music that tell us what to feel, what to imagine, J & A make us really listen. Really think about what we are listening to and what it means to you. To me this means fear, being scared. What does it mean to you? Is it just a noise?
This is exactly what John Cage was talking about when he said that beauty is in the ear of the listener. Some people think it's amazing music and others think it's shit. That's when you ask yourself 'what is beauty?' 'who am i to decide what is beautiful?' etc. When you realise that it's a matter of subjectivity, and is based on previous musical experiences and your current mindset, you might come to appreciate this song. Even if it's just a conceptual appreciation.
@FeinaMusic Why don't you make one then, I bet you there is a lot more to this then you think, a lot more thinking, a lot more passion, people make songs for a reason, if you don't like it don't listen, but don't fucking sit there and tell us how you think a song sounds, to each their own, but I don't give a fuck about yours.
@YExoticCreature hey hey i agree with you and i dont even really consider this music but that doesnt give either of us the right to bag on their work, i mean at least i can respect that they are getting songs out
@sukini3 I'm not bagging on their work. I was simply stating my opinion, which is that I don't consider this music, and I disagree with all the dipshits who are calling this "emotion."
Pushing the boundaries as always, known this track for about 2 years now and it still amazes me when i hear it, its just so good, proof that music doesn't have to be commercial driven wank fodder for pervs!
I'm sorry, but I just really can't make a sense out of this... Perhaps I"m not that emotional enough, and I had to dig a little deeper? But seriously, I did NOT get the point of listening to this any longer...
It's weird, new, weird in a good way. I understand how they love crackling records because it feels homey and cosy like a warm cocoon.
And for me it's like you have to sing over it, make up your own song to the song. If that sounds confusing.
No music has to sound the same way, and this is almost speaking for itself. Its quite clever how the music starts again when she throws the stone back into the water. Very smart.
I like these artists, and If you don't like it then you don't like it.
I'm glad they didn't put this on the Riceboy Sleeps album. That album always helps me fall asleep, and I don't think I could fall asleep to this! I do like it though...
Beautiful. People dislike it because it's different from Jonsi&Alex's normal work, or even that of Sigur Ros - But it conveys fear. It's really powerful.
I also love the track name. So simple, honest and with such a depth.
@rastakuere The pattern in life. It's scary when you find it but i's there. As in, what links everything to everything. Sounds nuts perhaps but this, in its own way - shows it. This is key in a way. It's the all-encompassing equation. The way I see at least. Like al of lives rythm can be decuded to simple earthly acts like the conflict in water (or other elemets like gases, etc. hoever less visible). This is us my man.

@rastakuere Love, Hate, Happiness, Sadness, Childhood, Hope, Death, Life, Dreams, Emotions, and Beauty hurts my ears and makes for a really bad song, aparently....
@rastakuere This is nothing like anything I've heard in music. I like the subtle shifts in melody. It's a unique shift in ambient and I give Jonsi and Alex props for pushing the genre into an uncomfortable rarely approached area instead of just accepting what is alllllways played. It's refreshing.
If you concentrate on the the pattern and relationships that occur in water (especially in rivers), they can reveal a key to the genral pattern of all existance. In other words, humna, plant and animal relationship or conflict or chaos (orderly), can be seen in flowing water and therein might lie the simple answer to som many complex questions.
@alkalein Yes, I've read some philosophy about how we as human beings need to take the time to observe nature. It states that most human relationships are ruined from disconnection of ourselves with the earth.

Sorry, as much as I am happy to have something new on the "sigur ros" front, with this spin off, this is nothing compared to the normal band's stuff! It's annoying, how long do we have to wait for their new album when some of them are wasting time on this stuff :(

You can call this emotional all you want, but it's nothing but noise.
I've heard some true, deep and beautiful music and it's not this nor is it the stuff that's "commercial driven."

@YExoticCreature I'ts your point of view, I respect that. Now where's the "truth" Id on't know, do you ?
This apart, you can't ignore that there is a melody in this noise, to not hear it is a choice...
