Thousands Black Gays & Lesbians Celebrate Pride 2009 at Montrose Rocks

Not scary. Not vulgar. So very much better than parades in the past. I'll probably never go to a gay rights parade since the first ones were so mean-spirited. Yelling at on-lookers that have open minds can ruin the experience for a lifetime. For me certainly. But thank you for the improvements even if will not likely ever go to another.

I miss this part of the day so much since I moved away from Chi!! so alive... San Francisco is awesome but it just doesn't FEEL the same. The Rocks are just really family-oriented and yet radical, welcoming and yet bad-ass.

I don't know or care which celebration is the 'real' one these days, I only know that the Montrose one is the first event like this I ever went to, and I was so moved.

Looks like they finally got the sound system thing sorted out!! LOL
