Amazing JAZZ JAMAICA CONCERT, which was recorded in FULL HD at the IMPERIAL WHARF JAZZ FESIVAL 2008, FULHAM, LONDON. Just type " asbx81 " in the Search Box above.
ernest ranglin's music has soooo much more to offer than his participation in developing ska, which is great in its own right. but take the time and listen to his 'modern answers to old questions' album. i once put it on on a weekender, and people went ernest who? haha
@thailow117 Yes, Monty Alexander once said "Ernest doesn't just play Calypso, Reggae,Jazz & Blues..he plays them ALL at the SAME time". Ernest is one of the few REAL versatile musicians left today.
Desmond went a long way to getting Ska rooted in the UK BUT he was no way the starter of Ska. The first big "ska" "bluebeat" hit in the uk was (beleive it or not) My Boy Lollipop" by Millie.
But It Started way B4 That With Shuffle/Boggie Woogie Ect The Transition Into Ska
Very Early 60s Even To Say Late 50s
With Dat Tune Theophilus Beckford - Easy Snappin Which Jamaican History Tells It

It does look patronising, elkrobber. But remember, Trainspotting had to be subtitled in some parts of the US. Says more about the viewers than the guys on the screen.

The link provided by the uploader doesn't work, but if you do the same search (BBC + Jamaican) on a better torrent site (say, TPB) you'll get lucky.

Is it just me that finds the subtitilng at the begining patronising? He's jamaican, but he's speaking easily understandable english.
Some nice guitar playing from Ernest though =)

@elkrobber True, he's speaking better English than most Londoners do today.
