  • We played this in concert band, not as complicated of a version. But still loved it because it was in six eight even though the flutes had to rest for twenty four measures!!!!!!

  • @Henners1991 you are not funny.

  • @Henner1991 you are not funny.

  • Fallout 3 XD lol

  • @henners1999 you are not funny

  • This piece makes me want to put on a straw hat, grab a cane 'n' go outside and set up a lemonade stand with this blaring out of speakers above it..

  • This song was played for me on November 16, 2011 when me and my platoon were hiking to the parade deck in Parris Island, South Carolina to receive our eagle globe and anchors. I will never forget it.

  • i remember this as hacksaw jim duggan's theme in wcw

  • @NickInfante92 you are right

  • Nov 6, 1854:

    John Philip Sousa is born

  • @elmaranon 157 years ago the genius was born...

  • Sousa is the most brilliant at writing patriotic tunes!

  • My high school band is playing this now and we are playing the original piece. Overall it is an excellent piece of work for any band that knows marching music and can play that style well.

  • wasn't this in Harry Potter 4?

  • @MERC3NARYPRODUCTIONS Nope. I believe what you're thinking of was something actually composed for the film: "Hogwarts' March." Check it out. You'll hear the obvious difference, but I can understand why you would think they're the same; I thought the film's track was this one when I first heard it.

  • This is so hard for marching band TT___TT

  • When I was a kid, all the reporters of World War II sent their films and are displayed at the cinema and before they played the anthem of the Journal in which they worked, I remember the Chicago Tribune and the BBC in London as well.

  • This song should be played by our tanks in iraq. Just blast it as they blow up the insurgents.

  • @marleyfan008 Ha ha, and the Tank Commander is sitting up top smoking a cigar...

  • @TwoCows23 i was my friend, i was pleasantly suprised indeed

  • We played a watered-down version of this song for our school's special olympics this year...I'd like to learn the real thing!

  • His Beard wrote this

  • I used to play our 78 rpm vinyl of this when I was 5 years old! I still love it!

  • Isso só pode ser sacanagem! Meu nome é João Felipe Souza! JURO!! HAUEHUAEH

This must be some kind of joke! My name is João Felipe Souza!! Its the equivalent in portuguese! I SWEAR!! lol

  • @joehist Mr. Sousa's paternal grandparents were Portuguese so it is possible that you are related to him! They were living in Spain when Mr. Sousa's father was born. Mr. Sousa was born in Washington D.C.

  • If ever I run for office in anything, this song will be my campaign theme...Vote CountTentacula...you can always trust a man in a bow-tie!

  • @CountTentacula I'd vote for you just to hear this epic tune!

  • @Random22222y Yes! I am CountTentacula and I approve this message!

  • Nationalistic music of the Romantic period was great

  • FOSEEBOY is right. Monty Pythons's Flying Circus used the Liberty Bell March.

  • MONTY PYTHON was the ''LIBERTY BELL' march champ!!........

  • Anyone else just think "Monty Python's Flying Cirrrrrrrcussssss!" when you hear this? :D

  • @obiwanobiwan13 yeah

  • absolutly love this!(= vry lucky 2 of had tha chance to perform to this amasing piece!xD

  • What movie/movies was this featured in?

Also, is this the version really performed by Sousa, or, another person & it's being credited as J.P.S.?

  • @tthomaselli2 Back to the future 2

  • @tthomaselli2 I don't know about the movies, but this is not the version performed by Sousa himself. He did record some of his songs in the very early days of recordings, but they have poor sound quality by today's standards.

  • We used to do this in my High School marching band, love that tromebone part!

  • Epic uniform. I wish ours looked like that...

  • @1337fidoS10 that would be so awesome if i didn't live in california where we perform on triple digit weather

  • does anybody know where i can find this with only the clarinet part? i am playing this in band and i need to hear how first clarinet sounds please and thank you

  • I had always wondered who made this song.
