Wow. I'm already a veggie and did NOT want to see those graphic video clips at all. I was looking for a video regarding vegetarianism and boxing and this is what came up. Thanks a lot ASSHOLE.
@LloydChristmas777 Of course. I do not lie. It just seems hypocritical to wear a Peta shirt and use supplements made form the same cows they show confined, abused, stalled, and fed things they were never meant to eat(corn for example). And Nick Diaz eats seafood. Last time I checked seafood was not part of any vegetarian diet.
@sclaysdharma, Although all your points are logical and valid, I have to say that there are different levels of vegetarianism, and also that being a perfect animal advocate, or a perfect advocate of any great cause, is impossible.
There are many people who call themselves animal lovers, yet they eat meat; even though I think it serves their cause better if they stop eating meat, I wouldn't call them hypocrites even if I have a good case because I actually believe that they DO love animals.
@LloydChristmas777 yes, of course, I know all of this because I tried several different versions of the vegetarian diet for many years, but that is certainly not even close to being perfect.
I've found that the biggest difference is in stamina. strength tends to stay the same, but a vegan diet tends to help you last longer in the gym. I think that is why so many long distance runners and triathletes are vegan or fruitarian.
the only thing about being vegan is the craving for meat, i can't without it, it just tastes too good and its too expensive to get that much protein in your body, and without using dairy products
@jiamonx2, The craving of meat is understandable, but your comment about being too expensive to get protein without dairy could be investigated further. Buying plant based foods, in which can easily rival (example spinach) the amount of protein in meat, is actually cheaper. If you want something inbetween, veggie "meats" generally has more protein than dairy.
@GTILOUD look at horses. big muscular animals that don't eat meat. people can get big without eating meat too. you just have to eat a ton of fruits and veggies.
@GTILOUD, I know it's a bit late, but you may want to check out vegan bodybuilder Robert Cheeke. He's been pretty successful in natural body building contests.
@AnimalAbusingLosers1 Fitch just started his Vegan diet this year, since then, he has lost copious amounts of muscle mass and strength, and got muscled around by a chubby lightweight. Mike Tyson was a bona fide meat eater when he actually competed, Nate Diaz has no muscle mass, and Jake Shields is a genetic freak. All would more greatly benefited from a balanced diet of meat and vegetation.
im sick of vegans acting like you can be big and muscular whilst vegan, im 19 and 260 pounds and have tried being vegan, my lifts went down by KILOS, i lost 15 kg of muscle and felt horrible
i absolutley agree with your views and animal treatment and i try to only eat organic and free range meats but the human body is desgined to process good meat
@jack11643 What did you eat when you went vegan. I quit eating meat and my strength has gone up once I ate more calories from whole foods (potatoes, rice, corn, beans, squash, whole grain pasta) and lots of fruit and veg. You have to eat more to get the calories when you cut out meat but it is worth it. The only diet proven to reverse heart disease is a whole food plant based diet (no meat no oils) high carb-low fat.
@jack11643, Why are you "sick" of vegans for stating facts? There are vegan body builders among the many omnivore body builders. You had a disappointing experience as a vegan, so you'll have to be accountable for your own diet in details; I don't think it's fair you blame veganism. I'm the opposite of you: I went vegan and I'm more stronger than even myself in my best athletic years.
is jake now vegetarian of vegan?? (i know that in the past vegetarian was kinda vegan... but today u kinda understand vegetarian as just don't eat meat and fish, but still consume milk n eggs...and honey) so what is jake actually?
@86Pennywise666 Jake is vegetarian not vegan, if you want to see vegan mma fighters check out Mac Danzig and Ricardo Moreira. Jon Fitch is mostly vegan but he's not strict about it. Nick Diaz is also vegan I believe. I've also heard that Nissen Osterneck is a life-long vegan!
ah.. thank you. yeah i knew about mac danzig and the mad dog. but that jon fitch and nick diaz are more or less almost vegan is new to me. i found out that fitch ate honey in a video, but the rest was vegan, but diaz eats fish and eggs.
dont know osterneck at all... but i'll search him right now :)
Wow, Jake Shields beats I mean dominated a legend in Dan Henderson tonight, what a comeback. Jake has more heart than any ignorant disrepsectful critical computer tough boys. @sclaysdharma, True. Shields is lacto-ovo vegetarian, not vegan.
