Waddy is a great guitar player...never got to see him with keef...only the other usual suspects like Stevie Nicks and Linda Rondstadt....Great band....
@robin14669 That's excellent; can't wait to hearty what ball-sy new masterpiece they produce. I love, in his book, how Keith credits Steve Jordan for re-defining and re-igniting the spirit of co-writing for him. What a pair & what a rocking-ass band!
We need to send a petition to Keef to tour with this band again. I saw him twice at The Aragon Ballroom with the Expensive Winos. It was one of the best concerts I ever saw. It certainly blew away the shows I saw The Stones do during the 80's and 90's. Those Stones shows had become nothing more than a circus.
MMRJL, i just mean when most people think of Keef, they think Heroin addicted drunk Wasted Rock Star. He admits to all that but, when you read the Book you Realize this is a very intelligent man, and the People he knows......Just SO much more to him than I realized.

@fairman1952 of course not. Mr. Richards has been writing the book for 50 years, and he continues to write it. i'm not referring to his autobiography either, but to the book of rock n roll. let's hope he has many more codas to add to it.
Agree completely. Keith is a fuckin' musician, Mick's a jerkoff. Prancin' and cock walkin' turned on 20 year olds in THE 60's, now in HIS 60's, he just looks a fuckin' fool! Plus, listen to "You Got The Silver", probably my favorite Stones song EVER! Rock On Keef, you're the shit!
@pistolpete111 Keith's album from 1987 sold about the same as Mick's 1986 "She's the Boss". That was hardly leaving Mick "in the dust". Besides, the next Stones tour wasn't until 1989.
@imaccuish I'm just wonderin' if Kieth is kinda' the opposing force that keeps Mick from being too jet setter in the Stones. They really are good together. I heard some solo stuff from Steven tyler of Aerosmith. He has a sense of melody, while the guitarist (I forget his name) has more of the unfettered punch. I see Kieth and similarly, but Kieth HAS melodic composing ability. Kieth is so rebel, Mick is so commercial (sometime, not always). Maybe their relationship keeps them from extremes.
@Upritebass I agree - Mick is yin to Keith's yang. They need each other, and when they meet in the middle...that is when you get the classic Stones material.
People listen up! Keith isn't going to be around forever. Actually, Keith will be around forever. Anyrate, enjoy this stuff. Rare, essentail and awesome.
Sounds very reminiscent of another classic Richards tune off ' Exile On main Street' All down the line gotta love Waddy Wachel a highly under rated guitarist
I had front row center seats at the Tower for their Philly show compliments of electric factory....Wut you sed. With Stones Keef seemed to be just going thru the motions, but with EW's he was ALIVE ! Waddy was sooooo much more of a guitarist than Ronny it is painful to think about. Great Vid !!! Im sure some legal twat will yank it soon....
Yeah Ronnie was never really a guitarist per say as much as he is a bassist... he played bass for Rod Stewart for most of his earlier carrier before the stones... not taking anything away from Ronnie though
When you listen to Ronnie in the Faces, he PLAYED.
Its almost like, when he became a 'Stone he felt he had not only attained a level where plying was unimportant, but he had to become a cartoon character and playing a role was more important than playing guitar. His slide/acoustic stuff is still great, but when he becomes covering real Stone stuff, he sux. To me, the Mick Taylor years defined he 'Stones. Anything after that is dénouement .
I agree the Mick Taylor years were the most rocking years after he (taylor) left they tried out several players to fill the spot vacated by Mr. Taylor.. Chris Spedding, Earl Slick and they even considered Michael Schenker at one time. I do not know a scorpion in the stones just does not feel right
This record was the one the Stones should have been making at this time. Keef can't sing a freaking lick but he makes it work and his band is awesome.
