  • these envfrionmentalists crack me up. They think by replacing a gas powerd car with a coal powered car they are better than me becuase they will spend $10,000+ more for a car with less range and takes longet to charge. Electric cars are a total joke. It is a crime that we are subsidizing them.

  • @Srd1126 I wonder if you will say the same thing in 50 years?

  • @CaptainRidley probably, Compressed Natural Gas will soon be plentiful and is a better substitute for gasoline. We have loads of it we can frack.

  • @Srd1126 I am hesitant about fracking due to water contamination and the gas companies trying to avoid blame for it. I feel as batteries are developed and refined along with greater engineering electric cars will take off. Yeah it is silly now (100 miles to the charge) but what if it was 3000? It is a new tech and like all new tech needs time. Should we of given up on Cell phones because they were clunky and not needed? 50 years is along time.

  • @CaptainRidley fracking is fine, we have been doing it for years it is just getting more refined. Gas drillers must post a bond for damage before they drill, and all the lead mined for batteries does its own water damage. If you don't want to give up on electrics, invest your own money into it, but the government needs to end all these subsidies for electrics now. Let the market decide, market makes the best choices.

  • @Srd1126 your so correct, in the USA we have 400 years worth, if we would just do it

  • @Srd1126 ev's are the future, get with the program, or fall behind

  • @007floridamark I have heard that nonsense for 30+ years now. They still cost far more for far less utility. CNG, biodiesel, gas-from-coal; all of these and more do it better/faster/cheaper. Until the batteries can be charged in less than 5 munites no rational person would buy an EV.

  • search "The Rockefellers Exposed, Rockefellers control gov't"

  • I am starting the EV2 project. Check out my FaceBook page. Search for ev2 and join the community!

  • It's as though the old horse-drawn carriage makers got together, assassinated Henry Ford, convinced people that traveling too fast too many times disrupts the cells in the body, so humanity would just have to stick with their original product, and no one ever thought of it again. The corpse of Western civilization is going to be buried coated with a coating of oil on everything. The epitaph should be, "Died of Stupidity."

  • @MamadosEntertainment We've been driving NiMH and now Lithium EVs since 1997. See more gasoline fires than EV fires? Maybe you need to go back to school, Mr. "engineer"

  • Is there even one person in this movie that knows the difference between a BTU and an IOU? How about a movie about Peter Pan and who killed him?

  • Hydrogen uses too much fossil fuel? Where do you think electricity comes from?

  • @lancedegroot eEectricity doesn't HAVE to come from fossil fuel. That's a huge misconception. Hydroelectricity, biomass and algae, geothermal energy, solar energy etc., are great renewable sources that do not create pollution. It would be a shame to stop electric cars because people are misinformed about the alternatives.

  • @lancedegroot not hydrogen, hydrogen comes from OIL REFINERIES.

  • Buy an all electric car from TESLA MOTORS.

  • I disagree with the two lesbians. The electric car is out there and ready for purchase, now whats your excuse? Too expensive? The commie gov. didnt issue you one? Big oil?

Ahhhh!! it was Bush and Cheney! That's it! Liars. Buy a Chevy Volt now and shut your mouth.

    Good Evenig

  • @jstoner6 It's a fascist government not communist. The business aristocracy puts government leaders in power. That's one reason they destroyed the EV1. And since you mentioned the tyrants Bush and Cheney, their rotting corpses should be hanging from a bridge right now for war crimes, treason and crimes against humanity, and as an apology to the rest of the world.

  • @73849309378 Your right it is a fascist government I recognize Obama's leadership style as such. I don't know why you are still talking about he EV1, buy a Tesla, Prius, Insight, Volt or etc. They are out there and available purchase. You may see even more choices since socialism took a heavy blow last election and Capitalism may be coming back.

  • @jstoner6 Capitalism has never left.It just got more unregulated and is moving closer to fascism every day as it always will naturally when left without gov't oversight, because of corporate greed. We need more socialism to balance the predatory capitalism. But it will never happen with the modern style Repub and Dem parties unless voters wise up. Choices in the market have nothing to do with socialism. The only socialism we have in the auto industry right nowis corporate socialism AKA fascism.

  • @jstoner6 the Prius electric conversions have 100 mile range, Volt has a 35 mile range on electricity. So much money invested in electric cars, but hey! there's a gas generator in the Volt, enough to take you for a ride within 375 miles.

Wait, what? Even the Telsa Roadster has a 300 mile range (or so they claimed). You can get a Prius now for $10,000 less than the Volt with the base model, and get the conversion for $10,000, same price of the Volt.

    Well, then... let's go.

  • I got upset when he shot down hydrogen fuel cells for using fossil fuels. Electric cars will probably be the end of the world if they ever catch on. To charge an electric car, you need electricity, to get electricity you burn coal to turn the turbines, which burns even dirtier than gas. Only about 15% of the U.S's energy comes from alternative sources. We have tons of coal and it's mining will sky rocket. This could even increase Sulfuric Acid in our water. Electric cars are not the answer.

  • Hey man you definitely need to look into Nikola Tesla and the Free Transformation of energy. You don't Have to burn coal to get energy. That is Sadly what you have been taught and It is a Secret that has been kept from you. Go find out for yourself and come back and tell me I'm wrong.

I not trying to anger you I'm here to give you the right information

  • @avenge1671

Dude, did you know that the government took all his papers when he died. I have a friend, 67, who had a company that employed one of engineers. He was elderly at the time.

  • @coolmamac Yes I did know that. I've read a lot about Him, Definitely a role model of mine. The government didn't want that information to be carried on. They kept it for themselves so they can benefit from it not Us.

  • @XterierD How about solar cells? Park it in the sun and charge it up. No pollution. Just speculating, but surely there are better alternatives than fossil fuel vehicles.

  • @73849309378 Not for the oil companys.

  • Who killed the electric car? That man operating the crane.

  • There's a sequel!:

go to facebook dot com slash whokilledtheelectriccar (you won't allow URL's)

Like it to become a fan, 10,000 fans means we get to see the trailer!

  • It's just another marketing scheme....This is just a bunch of yuppie fake shitbags consumer scum that are calling themselves "activists", these people are pathetic yuppie consumers trying to act like they are saving the world when they are actually destroying it....Dumb yuppie consumers chasing their own tail telling you how to live when they can't even wipe their own ass...I'm 39 and I've never felt the need to be part of the auto-culture, fuck cars, fuck this pathetic society!!!!

  • Electric Cars run on Electricity which comes mainly from Nuclear Power and Coal, so it's not that great of an overall solution in reality...Nuclear Power creates apocalyptic nightmare scenarios like 3 Mile Island and Chernobyl, so how is that really any better than gas??? .....Until cars and everything in society are fueled by Solar or Wind Power we are doomed to band-aid solutions like the electric car... Obama is calling for building Nuclear Plants, more potential targets for terrorists.

  • thats nice, but now that there are cheap gasoline cars for developping countries, and millions who will buy them, in India or vietnam..., there will always be a market for oil, even if everyone in 1st world countried switched to electric cars.

  • whatever what problems are you talking about with these cars? that they eliminate gas, they use low cost electricity for short drives which is where most of the pollution comes from, that they already are being uses successfully in japan and uk for years? tell me whats wrong with them seriously. explain to me why otherwise stfu because you don't know what you are talking about. i on the east coast NEVER saw these in any auto sale when they were first popular.

  • This car "... will only meet the needs of 90% of the population." I guess that means the population of beverly hills...

For the rest of the folks (i.e. the folks that buy the movie tickets and otherwise give that douchebag a PAYCHECK for his useless 'tell everyone else how to live their lives' hide), the car is useless. THAT'S WHY WE DIDN'T BUY THEM!!

  • I believe the reason there wasn't a big market for the electric car is because we are so easily seduced into buying what the money reapers want us to buy.

  • Let's see,

My Dad was looking at the Electric Van that Cost $140,000, $10,000 down, $1,400 a month

Besides this the thing had a Range of 20 miles before you had to recharge it for 8 hours

Alternatively there was a Gasoline Van for $8000, no down ,$280 a month and gasoline was $2.25 a gallon and the 20 gallon tank could let her travel 300 miles before needing that $40 refill of gas (on demand)

Gee I wonder why the "electric Car died" if my dad chose the Cheaper Gasoline Van (rollseyes)

  • @TheRealArchAngel Its still alive its just up to private hands to make it happen.

  • I'm more for Kinetic-regenerative capacitors then rechargeable batteries in cars

One of the things not even menti0oned is that you have to spend $15,000 every 20,000 miles replacing the batteries and disposing of all those chemicals is a nightmare

  • Comment removed

  • I'm a alternative power tech junkie

Basically thee are generators on the wheel shafts so that when the engine is engaged from the capacitors the energy to mechanical motion of spinning the wheels are harness to convert mechanical motion back into recharging the capacitors

Like home built electric cars it is a custom design

  • @TheRealArchAngel Thats cool. I've checked out Greenpowerscience's channel and came up with my own ideas. What about solar panels on the top of the car in addition to the things you mentioned. Maybe a wind turbine attached aerodynamically. Solar steam power might be viable too if you could get enough sun directed at one point.

  • @TheRealArchAngel Sorry your dad just doesn't know how to shop.

  • "Sorry your dad just doesn't know how to shop."

No, he didn't have $140,000 let alone $10,000 down for what was basically a regular van with a electric motor in it and like 24 12 volt car batterries in the cargo space

They were the only upstart Electric car outfit in Hawaii and eventually bankrupted because gas was cheap and 300 mils on 20 gallons of gas was more convienent then plugging in your van for 8 hours every 20 miles

Even now with taxpayer Subsdy VOlt is $40,000, only sold 4000

  • people buy bigger cars because they are safer...fuel miliage versus safety--the choice is yours. steel is stronger than plastic, this is a no-brainer... neither is wrong, to each their own.

  • Unions killed domestic car industry.

As long as there is cheap gasoline, the electric car market will be soft.

  • As long as there is gasoline to be drilled we will be sold gas guzzling cars until we can no longer breathe the air and then they will charge us for compressed air and gas.

  • OOPS!!!

    american car industry RIP 2009.

    GM had their chance....

    battery operated cars forever

  • @lmission And now we see that Toyota cut corners and cheated their way into first place where their house of cards collapsed and unintentionally reinvigorated the American auto industry.

  • @lmission you mean like Tesla or the Cadillac ELR, don't forget about Fisker Karma either...American cars are always called inferior to there german counterparts, but no one has gone after Audi,BMW,Mercedes,VW etc etc with there conspiracy theories! Also the car was killed under Clinton not Bush, quit blaming him for everything. I'm all for electric vehicles and American car companies are leading the way!!
